Spirit of Antichrist-to-Israel Linkage

A decade and a half ago, I presented a chapter in one of my books in which I expressed a firm conviction that God’s Word about the spirit of Antichrist and God’s chosen nation, Israel, were possibly linked in a specific way. Upon reading the manuscript, the publisher’s book-selection committee wanted me to strike my thoughts on the possible connectionAlthough I had only offered the possibility and wrote it in such a way as to make it only a scripturally based conjecture, I was told that if I didn’t delete that portion, they wouldn’t publish the book.

The committee said it smacked of being a false teaching. That was their only charge against the postulation.

I, of course, did take it out of the manuscript because it was just a small part of a massive volume I very much believe the Lord wanted published.

But things have come to pass in terms of the tremendous wickedness and evil we’ve witnessed, especially lately, that I couldn’t in good faith remove such a portion from a book I was offering for publication today. I believe my earlier conviction is being proven: There is a link between the spirit of Antichrist and God’s people, Israel.

The Apostle John said the following about the spirit of Antichrist:

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (1 John 4:1-3)

I think all who believe in Christ for salvation who observe these strange times from the pre-Trib view of Bible prophecy have the spiritual capability of discerning the hell-spawned hatred that has suddenly developed against Israel on a global scale. I believe evil is manifesting particularly on a national scale at this late prophetic hour.

A portal to the dimension where demonic entities are held seems to have been unleashed. The Apostle John said, in effect, that the portal was opened to some extent when he was transcribing the words of the Holy Spirit. Certainly we should expect to see an intensive increase in such activity the nearer time comes to the Tribulation.

Evil men and seducers are growing worse by the hour, just as the Apostle Paul predicted. Much of the seduction is carried out against the Jewish people–against Israel—by the evil professors at the university level across America and the world. Students under their wicked inculcation seem to have been possessed by the spirit of Antichrist as they chant, “Kill the Jews,” and, “Wipe out Israel from the river to the sea!”.

John’s words have specific meaning. They are not just idle words, but present the connection, I think, to Satan’s hatred of God’s chosen people and nation:

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Jesus, the promised Savior since Genesis 3:15, is the object of Lucifer’s hatred. He has been working through eons to destroy the flesh through which the Savior came into the world. It was Jewish flesh. Satan’s insane rage now is manifest as strongly as ever, perhaps more so, as the time of Rapture and the Tribulation to follow nears.

One report offers proof of the increasing rage against God’s chosen.

There is a massive security presence here as the Secret Service, the Capitol Police, and other federal, state, and local police agencies are deployed in a wide perimeter around the Capitol grounds.

More than 10,000 angry, hostile, anti-Israel and anti-Netanyahu protesters have descended upon the city.

I’ve personally heard some saying, “We will kill all the Jews,” and “Go home, Jews,” and “Netanyahu, you’re not welcome in our country!”

One repugnant sign that I saw on my way to the Capitol read: “Go back home to Europe, Satanyahu.” (“Netanyahu addresses Joint Session of Congress with 10,000 angry, hostile, anti-Israel protestors outside Massive security perimeter established by Secret Service, Capitol Police,” Joel C. Rosenberg | Published: July 24, 2024, All Israel News)

The spirit of Antichrist has been fully unleashed against God’s chosen people. John made perhaps the strongest statement pointing to exactly how close this world is to the beginning of the worst time in all of human history–the Tribulation.

But before that time of horror can commence, Jesus Himself will step out on the clouds of Glory and call all believers to Himself.

Here is how to be a part of that divine rescue from this judgment-bound world.

That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)

As a Christian, it is expected that we are to bless Israel and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. There are some scholars, preachers, and teachers that declare these are commands from God to do so. In studying this thoroughly I can not agree with such a declaration.

Psalm 122 we can see clearly is a heartfelt plea to pray for the Peace of Jerusalem yet clearly this is not a command of God. Peace for Jerusalem and all Israel will not come apart from Messiah as all the Prophets declare in unity. In examining Ezekiel 13 judgement was certain for the false prophets of Israel declaring Peace for Jerusalem when there is no peace. It was their vanity and their own desires to declare peace and prosperity while the Lord God was bringing judgement upon a rebellious Israel. God had not declared these things.

Today, we also have Genesis 12:3 being invoked as a command to Christians on behalf of Israel to bless them or be cursed. My question to all those that declare such a position is, how do you bless those in rebellion against the Lord God? Of course no believer in Christ would curse Israel yet what blessing is to be invoked to those who stand in opposition to God? Of course then, Genesis 12:3 requires a clear understanding that can be found in Galatians 3 that details to whom both the blessing and the self imposed curses are appointed.

“And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed”- Galatians 3:8.

It is by faith alone that the blessing and the promise is inherited.

“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them”- Galatians 3:10.

To be clear, I am not identifying with Replacement Theology nor would I endorse such an error. If we do dismiss the character of the God we serve and the true fulfillment of the promises to a faithful remnant of Israel then we do greatly err in our understanding.

We must as believers also understand that presently the Lord God is calling Israel to repentance and to recognize the true source of their security. The Lord God is allowing this calamity upon Israel to fulfill His will and purpose. For this reason the Lord God will soon gather Gog/Magog against His people Israel that He might be glorified in the sight of many nations.

The nations are not raging against Israel, in truth, they are shaking their fists against the Lord God and so they will be recipients of fire as Ezekiel 38:6 declares.

“And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord”.

May all these things be done according to His perfect will! As it has been written, it surely will be fulfilled.

“So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward”- Ezekiel 39:22.

This is a subject where we do not agree. God has made it clear that He alone is qualified to judge Israel.

Andy Stanley makes comments like The Bible didn’t tell us to.…blah blah blah….it was John, or Peter or Paul that said to blah blah blah. God, in His word, has been explicit about how we are to treat Israel. In many passages.

EVERY person on earth who won’t accept Jesus as the Messiah is destined for eternal damnation; Jew or Gentile. Nevertheless, God has separated Israel as His wife, and He has made clear in His word how she is to be treated. The sheep and goats judgment at the end of the Tribulation is the final example of Jesus’ reward and punishment is based on how each individual person treats Jews during their time of great testing.

Israel is the apple of God’s Eye. She is His wife, she is the nation He brought the Savior of the World through, she is indeed set apart. God meant it when He said those who bless her will be blessed and those who curse her will be cursed. This is empirically demonstrated throughout world history.

Our own (USA) backhanded treatment of Israel will bring about our national destruction…very soon.

      • rodneydezarn's avatar rodneydezarn says:

Of a truth Robin, flesh and blood will not inherit the Kingdom of God! What is the greatest source of blessing for which we can bless Israel? Is it not the Gospel which points them to the source of all eternal blessings?

To whom does Christ recognize as His brethren? “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother”- Mathew 12:50. The promises to Israel are eternal and therefore require a redeemed Israel to partake of these eternal blessings and promises.

I find it interesting that most of the characteristics listed by Jesus in the sheep/goat judgement also are found among the lukewarm Church of Laodicea. The Sheep are obviously the faithful who hear the voice of the Great Shepherd and follow Him wherever He leads.

Hebrews 11:10 identifies that Abraham looked for an eternal inheritance, a city built by God (New Jerusalem). It is also made clear that all these listed of great faith looked for heavenly land as the fulfillment of the promises.

“But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city”- Hebrews 11:16.

As it is for all those who are born of the Spirit, our inheritance is not of this world that is reserved unto fire. It is clear that only through faith in Christ will Israel find true blessing, this Abraham did understand. If then we indeed seek to bless Israel then the message of the Gospel is the greatest source of this blessing!

      • robinlinaz's avatar robinlinaz says:

None of the things you mention about the gospel is in dispute with God’s word. But the idea that God no longer commands we honor Israel because of His special relationship with her, or that she will not be fully restored to Himself, can never be supported. Scripture makes absolutely clear what God’s position is toward Israel and what ours is to be as well.

The sheep and goat judgment is specific to the end of the Tribulation, and specific to how people treated God’s people during that time. There are many similarities of fallen individuals throughout the Bible, but the Laodician Church has nothing to do with the sheep and goat judgment. Church Saints leave the earth with the Rapture, and all Saints going forward are defined as Tribulation Saints.

Holding to the idea that the Church has replaced Israel is the very definition of Replacement Theology, and is pure heresy. It perpetuates hatred towards Israel, even among those who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ. To say any different is to bring severe judgment upon those who promote this false ideology.

      • rodneydezarn's avatar rodneydezarn says:

Robin, in no way am I endorsing Replacement Theology, yet perhaps you lack understanding that God will call a redeemed Israel to inherit the promises not a secular one! The Apostle Paul identifies this clearly in Romans 11.

“And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again”- Roman 11:23.

Basically, what I am saying is the belief that we should bless those who are in rebellion against God runs contrary to the scriptures. The Sheep and Goat judgement has nothing to do with Israel that much is clear in the context. It is the faithful and the unbeliever, in comparison also to the wheat and tares, and the wise and foolish servants.

      • robinlinaz's avatar robinlinaz says:

We disagree. The Sheep and Goat Judgment is specific, at the end of the Tribulation, and has everything to do with how non-Jews treat the Jews in their persecution. Those who don’t have an opportunity to help Jews during the Tribulation will not be judged for this and they will still be separated into the sheep. But those who do have the opportunity and won’t help Israel are in big trouble. For a very in depth study on this topic read The Footsteps of the Messiah by Dr. Arthur Fruchtenbaum, a, brilliant, highly respected theologian and faithful Messianic Jew. He knows Greek, Russian, Aramaic, Hebrew and I forget his other languages and speaks of what he understands. (His well regarded book is 750+ pages long, yet he covers all eschatological issues in fairly understandable chapters that are indexed. I keep it on my nightstand for reference.)

I have never questioned that God will call a redeemed Israel to inherit the Kingdom when they finally cry out to Jesus their Messiah.

My point is that God has promised that those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who turn against them will be cursed. God’s words, not mine. We are not running contrary to scripture when we do what God has commanded us to do! It is a command. He has made clear His desire that we treat His wife, Israel, with love and compassion, forever. He is, has been, and will be, dealing with her infidelity until she is reunited to the Lord.

Israel is special! She has always been special and she will continue to be special in the Millennial Kingdom. In fact, the Jews have very special roles to play in the Millinnial Kingdom that sets them apart.

Of course Jews must believe in Jesus as their prophesied Messiah in order to be redeemed. They are not excepted from the gospel.

God has explicitly told us how we must treat Israel; He’s made that plain. To say otherwise encourages hatred toward Israel, and aligns with Satan and his evil agenda.

  3. rodneydezarn's avatar rodneydezarn says:

Genesis 12:3 is perhaps the most misunderstood and abused portion of scripture. It can not be more clearer that the blessings were provided to Abram based on his unwavering faith. It would be wise for all believers to examine the truth concerning this passage that has been overtly twisted! Abram was the model from which the blessing is afforded, it is to those of faith.

    • robinlinaz's avatar robinlinaz says:

Straight out of Replacement Theology. God’s promise to Israel begins with Genesis 12:3 but certainly doesn’t end there. There are many scriptures that support God’s covenant with ISRAEL.

I don’t have any more time or interest debating this subject. It makes me angry because it is the foundational argument used to attack Jews and Israel.

      • Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

        Hi, Robin.

I, too, believe we have a biblical mandate as Christians to stand with Israel even in its imperfections. After all, who among us is without fault? None of us has the right to demand that Israel be flawless because it is clear that none of us could measure up to that standard ourselves. We are obvious hypocrites if we did.

The whole point of what Jesus did for us on the Cross was to take the hit we all deserve. Now, let’s see what God has to say about Israel:

Why God chose Israel in the first place:

Deuteronomy {7:6} For thou [art] an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that [are] upon the face of the earth. {7:7} The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye [were] the fewest of all people: {7:8} But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

The original blessing to Abram and how God would deal with those based on how they treated his descendants:

Genesis {12:1} Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: {12:2} And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: {12:3} And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

This blessing passed from Abram to Jacob (Israel):

Genesis {12:1} Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: {12:2} And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: {12:3} And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Now, a few of my own thoughts.

God always has reasons for what he does and it is my belief that part of the reason he chose Israel was not because they were the “biggest and best” but for all those inspired Hebrew men who got things right and passed their wisdom down to us. Just about everything we know about God is from the Hebrews. This is a great blessing in itself.

God also chose to come to Earth as one of us in human flesh as a Jew. One day that nation that produced the Messiah will recognize, at long last, that Jesus is that true Messiah. When that happens, they will finally fulfill the grand plan God has always wanted for them.

Perhaps, then, we should focus not on what Israel has been, the mistakes they’ve made (as has every one of us individually) but on the magnificent nation that it will one day become and the blessings the world will receive because of that:

Zechariah {8:22} Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD. {8:23} Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days [it shall come to pass,] that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard [that]
        God [is] with you,

Here we see God’s Genesis promise to Israel fulfilled and the world blessed because of it.

Let’s all pray for and support Israel because, by so doing, we are indeed doing what God wants us to do.

      • robinlinaz's avatar robinlinaz says:

Thank you Ed, so much! This is exactly right.

When we try to edge Israel out in any way, we dishonor God. As you said, that doesn’t mean Israel is perfect, what nation is?! But God told us how to treat His wife (that is what He calls Israel) and when she finally turns to Jesus in repentance and calls out to Him, there will be full reconciliation.

Obedience, whether we agree or understand, is paramount to honoring the Lord. If He tells me to honor Israel, you can bet everything that’s what I will do.

        Blessings to you my friend!

      • Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

        You are most welcome, Robin.

We are certainly on the same page here.

The future has already been written in advance and to ignore Israel’s destiny that is to reject what God already told us about it!

        God bless!

  4. Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

You are right on target again, Terry. None of the things were are seeing in America and the world today are happening in a vacuum – they are ALL connected and implemented by Satan himself.

Part of his tactics is not only to produce such evil and pull people into it, but to cause a veil to descend upon their minds so they have no idea how they are being played.

What we have here is Ephesians 6:12 coming to pass right in our faces but even those we consider “good people” can’t see this if they are Scripturally illiterate any more than someone without medical literacy can perform heart surgery.

What we have here is Ephesians 6:12 coming to pass right in our faces.
