America’s Astonishing End-times Power

All during the Obama and Biden administrations, I considered the decline of America—deliberately perpetrated by those administrations in conjunction with the globalist cabal, i.e., these worked tirelessly to take down United States from the awesome American world hegemony the nation exerted for more than a century.

Now, everything is in such obvious change from the downward trajectory wrought from the four years Biden debacle that the ravenous media-haters of Trump can’t regain their balance in order to dig in against his prolific “winning,” as he terms it. And I must admit that I am off balance, too. What is this head-and-neck-twisting change in direction, with America again being looked to by even America’s enemies as standing at the top of the nation ladder, as they seemingly look to the new US leader for direction?

As I’ve related here before, I thought that with the coming of the first Trump presidency in 2016, the stage was being set for fulfillment of Luke 17:28-30. It seemed that Trump, the business mover and shaker, would bring the US and, in effect, the world back to a business-as-usual configuration. It would be, as Jesus said, “as it was in the days of Lot.” And that did to some extent happen. Business was beginning to boom.

Following the drastic downturn in the national and global economy during the Obama administration, I thought Trump and his immediate actions portended America’s return to dominance, with the dollar returning to prominence in being intricately linked to all other economies of the nation states. Then the shock set in when Donald Trump, in what I still consider a stolen election, was removed from office. This, in my estimation, took this nation and the world’s economy in general out of the business-as-usual time the Lord said will be the circumstance when He next intervenes, like He did in Lot’s day.

The country and the world did indeed then begin to degenerate under the Biden administration, particularly in the area of economic well-being. Then another shock–at least to those who so hate Donald J. Trump. He won the 2024 election–and with a healthy mandate to implement all of the many promises he made during the presidential election campaign.

Can anyone who is paying any attention at all deny that Trump has attacked the amazing number of things he promised to accomplish, and with lightning-like swiftness? And his actions go far beyond anything we could have anticipated.

Trump said he would bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine war-making, and in short order. No one in the upper-crust diplomatic community believed that, for example, Russia’s Vladimir Putin could be brought into a reasonable negotiation mindset.

But Trump was almost immediately on the phone to Putin and reported that the former Soviet KGB agent-turned-president of the Russian Federation was willing to negotiate a settlement of the Ukraine matter. The power that continues to be exhibited by this unusual man called Trump now seemingly places America’s position again at the nation-state apex level of interaction.

For example, in the situation in Gaza, Trump, apparently even without the foreknowledge of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, announced America might take over there and clean up the mess so that the people of the area, after being exported from the region, could return to their home that would be almost resort-like.

The announcement, mentioned casually during Netanyahu’s Oval Office visit, took everyone by complete surprise. The mainstream media and all Trump-haters melted down, furious over such colonial audacity.

Trump said that Jordan and Egypt, he believed, would accept these Palestinian refugees for the time it takes to clean up the deadly ordnance and damage done by the Gaza war–damage caused by Hamas and their years of evil in control of the region.

The king of Jordan and the Egyptian leader both said they would not take these people into their countries under any circumstance. That was their initial and official statements.

Now, after being on the phone with Donald Trump, both have, it seems, relented, saying they would take some of these people–beginning with the very young, the elderly, and the infirmed.

Fact is, this complete change of mind by the Jordanian and Egyptian leaders is due to the man who is obviously the world’s top leader, just as America’s presidents have been touted to be, but have rarely attained such heights of power-wielding.

Additionally, the leaders of both Jordan and Egypt, as well as others of the Mideast, have indicated they are willing to consider funding the cleanup of the Gaza–a thing they previously scoffed at even considering. –Thus, it is conjectured, because they don’t want America having such presence and influence in their part of the world.

So Mr. Trump has begun shaping things in the way he apparently intends. He, it is thought, never intended to send American assets, economically, militarily, or otherwise to get Gaza cleaned up and Hamas completely out of the region. Some believe he used brilliant threat of American presence to get those in the region to do what needed to be done. His negotiation prowess is almost supernatural.

Now, we come back to earth. We ask: What is this all about, prophetically speaking? I haven’t a clue of the details.

I do, however, have a clue of a general nature from God’s Holy Word. There will be a peace arrangement that will come out of the region surrounding and involved with God’s chosen nation, Israel. This, I’m convinced/convicted, is precisely what is going on. This is all to prepare the geopolitical Middle East stage for the peace that will bring on Antichrist at some point, the man of sin who will confirm the covenant with Israel and the many. This is foretold for the last seven years by Daniel’s sixty-nine weeks of years and Daniel’s seventieth-week prophecy that leads to Christ’s triumphant return.

In all of this, Donald J. Trump is at the center. And…no, he will not be the Antichrist.

Again, I haven’t a clue of the details, but having witnessed all the things, including that miraculously foiled assassination attempt surrounding this strange human being (and one cannot deny he is out of the ordinary), I can conclude with certainty in my own thinking that he is God’s man for this equally strange end-times hour.

So whatever America’s ultimate fate, this nation, too, based on the power it now demonstratively is beginning to exert, is being used by heavenly prerogative as a stage-setting instrument to help bring God’s foretold things to conclusion. And that conclusion appears to be coming very quickly!

Even so, come Lord Jesus!

Terry, I too admit that I am off balance. I believe with every cell in my body that God is moving mightily, and has been for the last 25 years or so. Not only can we see what is coming, but we can see what has been, and all of the prophetic stage setting that has taken place, particularly since 9/11. But since 2020, we’ve been racing down the prophetic highway and now we are riding in a supersonic jet.

I am thinking about Joseph frequently these days. He was obviously a man of God, a true and faithful servant…tested mightily in order to be prepared for the plan God had for him and the deliverance of His people. Granted, Trump is not deeply faithful like Joseph, although daily I pray for him, his family and his whole administration to come to true, saving faith. But he has been profoundly tried, tested, and has proven a deep commitment to restore lawfulness and to support and protect Israel. And he has put together an incredible team to do all of the work they have undertaken. There is biblical precedent for this.

In my daily Bible study I am re-reading the account in Exodus of Bezalel, and Oholiab. It says in Exodus 31:2-3 “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, understanding, and ability in all kinds of craftsmanship.” God also appointed Oholiab, from the tribe of Dan, to assist him as explained in Exodus 31:6. Together, they led a team of artisans and craftsmen, ensuring that every detail of the Tabernacle was executed according to God’s detailed instructions. God gave them supernatural empowerment to carry out their seemingly impossible tasks. And they accomplished it all in less than a year! It seems there is a correlation with Trump and his administration…for obviously different purposes.

I don’t claim to have a clear understanding of how all the pieces are fitting together, but I also have no doubt they are coming together precisely as God intends.

There was an article that came out over the weekend saying that Sir Isaac Newton 1642-1737, regarded as one of the greatest minds in human history, and a strong believer in Jesus, calculated that Jesus’s second coming would happen in 2060. While I don’t think he got it right, I don’t fault him, because he didn’t have all the information we have today; Israel hadn’t even been reestablished in their homeland when Newton lived. I mention this because today we have recent history to reflect upon, the whole cannon of scripture, a better understanding of the prophetic signs directly all around us, and the ability to see what lies straight ahead: 2060 seem unlikely in the extreme to me.

Most of the watching remnant are filled with excitement and anticipation to meet Jesus, mixed with dread and sorrow for the unsaved. The emotions of our days are complicated, that is for sure.

Jesus didn’t downplay the last days, He told us these would be perilous times! 2 Timothy 3-1 “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”

For earth-dwellers, most are getting caught up in the excitement that the world will go back to normal, or become a “new golden age.” But for us, we trust the warnings our Lord has graciously provided us…our perilous times are not going to lead to lasting peace and safety…they are filled with danger and deception that will eventually lead to destruction. Therefore, we must remain vigilant, and avoid re-attaching to the world, no matter how much things improve.

My prayer is that many more souls come to saving faith in Jesus in the days ahead. His is the Kingdom, and the Power and the Glory.

    • Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

More often than not, God used the “tools at hand” to accomplish his will. He had Noah build the ark with his own hands before stepping in supernaturally. He didn’t just “materialize” one for him to use.
He used the Babylonians to straighten out the wayward Judeans and the empires that followed toward the same purpose.
I’m pretty sure that rulers like Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus the Great had no idea that God was using them to accomplish his will, though I’ll bet they ended up figuring it out and I will not be surprised to see them in heaven when we get there.
Now, we see Donald Trump come on the scene to begin a turnaround of wayward America. His brush with death definitely got his attention and he’s now gotten the idea that God saved him for a purpose. Already he is making inroads against the godless efforts of the past four years of Biden & Company to send out nation into the scrap pile. How much time remains to turn us around and how far his efforts will go remains to be seen.
What we do know is that we have been given a narrow window of opportunity to help grow the remnant.
Let’s make the best of it before our only real Savior comes to take us home!

  3. Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

I suspect Donald Trump’s second term will be even more effective having not followed directly after his first. The plunge of America into darkness after Biden & Company got even some of those formerly opposed to him into his corner, except those with advanced Trump Derangement Syndrome. But even they had their teeth pulled to some extent. Had the last four years not been so bad, I doubt his victory would have been as spectacular as it was in November’s election. It was large enough so it couldn’t be successfully rigged like the last time.

It also gave President Trump four years to reflect on what to do in this term and the experience of dealing with the swamp creatures – and how to drain their habitat more effectively, this process presently underway faster that I could imagine.

I’d say we may have a brief interlude to catch out breaths, but I hope not to the extent of making us complacent. Evil is still widespread but even more dangerous because it has been backed into a corner and remains part of the “business as usual” fabric of our society – just as it was in Noah’s and Lot’s eras. Because of this God’s sudden intervention is all the more likely now, one of the reasons being is that it is more unexpected in a relatively calmer time like this.

By the way, in addition to keeping an eye on Israel, we might also keep watch on Rome to see what plays out in the Vatican in the days to come.

And, of course, we must keep looking up, especially now.

  4. Maybe the Lord’s man in charge on earth for the most powerful nation that’s ever existed is Donald John Trump. Because it will take someone with so dominant and powerful a persona–like Trump–to jump start the next move on God’s prophetic timeline!

I’m still not convinced, however, that America’s best years are still in front of us. I remember the words from a great man–Pres. Ronald Reagan–who likened our future to a “shining city upon a hill”, in his farewell address to the nation. Inspiring my generation, and the one that would follow. More than 36 years have passed, and America has continued in prosperity for the most part, even in Obama’s and Biden’s time despite their negative actions towards Israel! God has still blessed this nation abundantly. But for how much longer? What happens once Trump leaves office and there’s a backlash of sorts, and the Dems get back in office with an even more radical agenda? I’m even more convinced that this man with his namesake (Trump) taken with all of the other signs–the world confluence of multiple, converging events show that this is the generation who have wisdom to know what Jesus said we would know when His return was near, even at the door! Is Trump’s return to world power a warning sign? I think it is, which means having this wisdom through our Faith in Him, and the words He spoke to the apostles in the Olivet Discourse, and cognizant of all these things we see happening in the world while awaiting His Appearing!

    • Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

I, too, think America’s descent into darkness is only a temporary reprieve. We know how history will unfold because the Bible has already told us this. I see this as a time to “occupy” and help grow the remnant in this brief pause in the advance of darkness across our country.

We may get two years, if the Lord tarries, but your view about what follows is well-founded. You can bet the Wokesters will fight back, having been forced into the corner.

Even so, I am not overly concerned because God has “got” this and remains in control.

Our real home is a heavenly one and pretty soon it’ll be moving day.

  5. PJ Graves's avatar PJ Graves says:

I’m reminded in the Bible how God allows Satan to bring bad times to refine His people, and conversely, how God uses tribulations toward His enemies, allowing them time to repent. We are witnessing God use Trump as the whip to mete-out some justice by scouring the dark ones with cleansing light. Result: the God and life-hating Left is in complete disarray, without leadership at precisely the moment before The Rapture of the Church, because He is giving them time to decide whose side they will be on. Jesus said, “They are either with us or against us.” Now that the enemies of God on earth have met a Waterloo of sorts, their own choices will either lead them to all Truth – Jesus, or lead them to be left behind. Personally, I believe God is also allowing this to happen to the wicked because He received the prayers of His own and honors them in order to strengthen our resolve and “finish the race well.” The trajectory of the light’s momentum suggests another outcome, too. As the hateful Left struggles in rebellion against the cleansing light shining on their wickedness, to the unrepentant the Rapture will appear to be a miracle of deliverance from their mortal enemy, and confirmation that they are indeed the “chosen” to bring in the NWO; thus setting them up all the more to be given over to “strong delusion” and accepting Antichirst as their undisputed god.

    • Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

I think you have a clear view of the situation. With the election of Donald Trump, we’ve been give a small window of opportunity to “occupy” and help grow the remnant. The danger is that we will become complacent and figure we’ve won the war, not just the battle.

The Bible is clear that the darkness is not defeated and will consume the whole world. Present-day believers will be gone and most of those those who come to accept Jesus post-rapture will be hunted down and killed.

The war will only be won after Jesus comes back, rules for 1000 years, and finally casts Satan and his followers into the lake of fire forever after one last rebellion at the end of the Millennium. Then the creation will be totally reconstructed untouched by the effects of sin.

The war will finally be won.

  6. When Biden was POTUS, my biggest concern was him (Biden)and his lackies would violate in the worst way Genesis 12: 3, the bless and cursings.
