“Iran has never been more vulnerable to strikes against its nuclear capabilities,” the official said.… The official added that Israel will not allow a nuclear Iran and, therefore, will continue to prepare to strike the nuclear project.” (Jerusalem Post – 11/22/24)[i]
Don’t be surprised to wake up one nearby morning to this sort of headline, “Israel Conducts Pre-emptive Strikes Against Iran’s Nuclear Sites.” Day by day this scenario becomes more likely. In fact, on October 26, 2024, Israel struck and destroyed Iran’s top-secret nuclear weapons research facility in Parchin.
“The facility in Parchin was completely destroyed during Israel’s Oct. 26 attack on Iran, according to satellite imagery.” (JNS – 11/16/24)[ii]
This timely article will explore the menu of reasons why Israel will likely soon strike Iran’s nuclear site(s). The reasons will be identified numerically below in no specific order of importance and then expounded upon subsequently.
The Menu of Reasons Israel Will Likely Strike
Israel has a history of striking nuclear facilities.
Israel holds to the “Begin Doctrine” established by Menachem Begin in 1981.
Israel has vowed to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.
Israel has destroyed Iran’s primary missile defense systems, rendering Iran vulnerable to an Israeli strike on its nuclear facilities.
Israel will likely have America’s approval through the presidency of Donald Trump.
Israel will not likely face severe retaliation from Iran’s proxies.
Israel has destroyed most of Syria’s missile defense systems, which enables more freedom to fly safely to Iran over Syrian air space.
Israel has to act now because Iran is on the fast track to obtaining several nuclear bombs.
An ancient Bible prophecy in Jeremiah 49:34-39 may foretell of such a nuclear strike.
1.Israel has a history of striking nuclear facilities.
In modern history, Israel has destroyed two nuclear reactors in the Middle East. One in Iraq and the other in Syria.
Operation Opera in (Iraq): In a surprise attack on June 7, 1981, which was the 14-year anniversary of Israel’s Six-Day War against Egypt, Syria and Jordan, Israel destroyed Iraq’s unfinished Osirak nuclear reactor. This is when the “Begin Doctrine” was established. This doctrine will be discussed next.
Operation Orchard (Syria): Acting in accordance with the “Begin Doctrine,” on September 6, 2007, Israel conducted a preemptive airstrike that destroyed a suspected nuclear reactor at the Al Kibar site in Syria.
2.Israel holds to the “Begin Doctrine” established by Menachem Begin in 1981.
“The Begin doctrine is the common term for the Israeli government’s preventive strike, counter-proliferation policy regarding their potential enemies’ capability to possess weapons of mass destruction (WMD), particularly nuclear weapons…. The doctrine itself was enunciated by Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin in June 1981, following Israel’s attack on Iraq’s nuclear reactor Osirak in Operation Opera. The doctrine remains a feature of Israeli security planning.” [iii]
The Wikipedia quote above provides a good explanation of the Begin (Menachem) Doctrine. The interesting story behind the implementation of this doctrine was told to me by Israeli envoy to the USA Yoram Ettinger in 2014 at a breakfast meeting. White House correspondent Bill Koenig and I sat down together with Yoram and asked him if he thought Israel would strike Iran’s nuclear site(s). His response is provided in the story below.
Sometime in the first half of 1981, Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin called together all of Israel’s top military and key political leaders in a closed-door meeting to discuss how to handle Iraq’s nuclear program. The potential of Iraq possessing a nuclear weapon posed an existential threat to the Jewish state.
Begin sought the leader’s opinions about the potential outcomes of an Israeli pre-emptive strike upon Iraq’s Osirak unfinished nuclear reactor. They were not in favor of such a strike for the following reasons:
It could incite the entire Muslim world to unite against Israel in a massive war that might potentially wipe Israel off of the map.
It could cause strong condemnation by the international community, including America and the Western world, because they were mostly supporting Iraq in its war against Iran.
This international condemnation could lead to harsh sanctions that could topple Israel’s economy.
Additional adverse conditions were also mentioned and the consensus was that this would be a BAD MOVE! Begin respectfully thanked all of his top confidants and then responded by saying something along the lines of, “If we don’t destroy the reactor and Iraq gets a nuclear weapon, this could result in the end of the Jewish state.” He concluded by stating, “We will strike Iraq NOW!”
Shortly thereafter, Israel destroyed the Osirak reactor, and none of the above concerns manifested as a result. This scenario is what led to the implementation of the Begin Doctrine, which is still in place and understood by Israel’s present political and military leaders. Thus, a pre-emptive strike on nuclear reactors has a historical precedent with Israel.
3.Israel has vowed to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.
The Reuters quote above dates back to 2021, which shows that for a long time, Israel has pledged that Iran will not allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon. As the headline below evidenced, this pledge even dates back before the JCPOA Iranian nuclear agreement was implemented in 2015. Presently, this pledge is still in effect.
“Sources tell Fox News airstrikes destroyed remaining three S-300 batteries; Israeli official says ‘majority of Iran’s air defense was taken out’” (Times of Israel – 10/30/24)[vi]
On October 1, 2024, Iran launched about two hundred ballistic missiles at targets in Israel. Fortunately for Israel, they were mostly ineffective. Subsequently, in a retaliatory strike into Iran on October 26, 2024, Israel destroyed a majority of Iran’s missile defenses rendering it essentially defenseless to a future Israeli strike upon Iran’s nuclear sites.
5.Israel will likely have America’s approval through the presidency of Donald Trump.
According to the WSJ headline above, Donald Trump is already considering the option of airstrikes upon Iran’s nuclear program. Thus, it would be unlikely that he would oppose an Israeli strike. In fact, the headline below suggests that Trump is in favor of Israel going after Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Syria, under the leadership of Bashar al-Assad was a major proxy of Iran. Assad allowed Iran to send weapons through Syria to Hezbollah. However, Assad’s government has fallen, and Assad has fled to Russia for asylum. In addition, Israel has destroyed the Syrian shipping corridor that Iran used, which has restricted Iran’s ability to further supply Hezbollah with much needed missiles and weapons.
Hezbollah, one of Iran’s strongest proxies has been severely damaged by Israel in their year-long war that Hezbollah initiated on October 8, 2023. With the supply lines cut off in Syria, Hezbollah’s fighting power has been drastically reduced.
“The IDF estimates that “80% of Hezbollah’s rocket arsenal within a range of up to 40 kilometers has been destroyed.” (Jerusalem Post – 11/10/24)[xii]
Hamas, like Hezbollah, has become severely weakened in its war with Israel. They have mostly been reduced to fighting in guerilla warfare for their survival.
The dynamics have changed in Israel’s favor as now Iran’s primary proxies have suffered devastating blows. As such, Israel will not likely face severe retaliation from Iran’s proxies should they strike Iran’s nuclear facilities.
As I author this article, the Houthis are steadily launching missiles from Yemen into Israel, but Israel has vowed to make an end of this Iranian proxy as well.
“The Iran-backed Houthis are stepping up their missile attacks, sending hundreds of thousands of Israelis scrambling for shelter in the middle of the night, scaring away foreign airlines and keeping up what could be the last major front in the Middle East wars.” (AP – 1/2/25)[xv]
8.Israel has to act now because Iran is on the fast track to obtaining several nuclear bombs.
With the weakening of Hamas, Hezbollah and collapse of the Assad regime, Iran appears to be focusing more of its efforts toward developing nuclear weapons.
“Expert says Iran ‘is moving towards building the bomb at a rapid pace’” (Fox News – 12/20/24)[xviii]
9.An ancient Bible prophecy in Jeremiah 49:34-39 may foretell of such a nuclear strike.
According to a biblical prophecy issued around 596 BC found in Jeremiah 49:34-39, a disaster is going to happen in Iran in the latter days. Jeremiah 49:37-38 declares this disaster is caused by God as a direct result of bad Iranian leadership doing something, or intending to do something that fiercely angers Him.
The prophecy involves the ancient territory of Elam. The modern-day location of Elam where this disaster takes place is in western Iran, hugging the Persian Gulf. (Refer to the map image).
Today, Iran is comprised of the historic lands of Elam and Persia. These are two distinctly different territories that have always been geographically separated by the Zagros Mountains.
But why does God get “fiercely angry” with the leaders of Iran? The verse below holds the key that unlocks the answer to this question.
“Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, (at), The foremost of their might.” (Jer. 49:35, NKJV; emphasis added)
The New Living Translation (NLT) says it this way,
“This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: “I will destroy the archers of Elam— the best of their forces.”
The modern-day inference is that the bad Iranian leaders want to launch lethal missiles, perhaps tipped with nuclear payloads, somewhere and these evil plans will be denied. God declares that He will, “break the bow,” or in other words, destroy these missile launchers beforehand in order to prevent these deadly rockets from being dispatched.
As per the verse below, this catastrophe appears to cause a humanitarian crisis because in the aftermath the affected Iranians are forced into a worldwide dispersion, which suggests that this disaster could be nuclear-related.
“I will bring enemies from all directions, and I will scatter the people of Elam to the four winds. They will be exiled to countries around the world.” (Jer. 49:36, NLT)
Elam (Western Iran) just so happens to be where most of Iran’s missile silos and portable rocket launchers are positioned. These launchers are mostly aimed at Israel. It is also the location of the following important Iranian military and nuclear-related sites.
Isfahan: Iran’s largest nuclear research facility.
Natanz: Iran’s primary enrichment facility.
Bushehr: One of Iran’s nuclear reactors.
Shiraz: Iran’s special weapons and missile development facility.
These four sites are high-profile targets for Israel to strike. In fact, on April 19, 2024, Israel already conducted a limited drone attack at Isfahan.
“On April 19 at approximately 3:00 AM local time the Israeli Defense Forces launched drone strikes on targets in and around the Iranian city of Isfahan.” (Military Watch Magazine – 4/19/24)[xix]
There is no evidence that Jeremiah’s Elam prophecy has found historical fulfillment, for which, in light of current events, makes this a potential prophecy to be on the lookout. The absence of historical proof is pointed out in my article available online entitled, “Has the Prophecy of Elam in Jeremiah 49:34-39 Been Historically Fulfilled?”
Thus, if the complete destruction of Elam has not happened historically, then logically this means the prophecies of Elam in Jeremiah 49:34-39 will take place sometime in the future. Who could God be so fiercely angry at now in modern-day Iran? Could it be the rogue Islamic regime who wants to wipe Israel off of the map using nuclear ballistic missiles?
In Jeremiah 49:35, God says He is going to bring about a great disaster in Western Iran. It causes a calamity that necessitates the worldwide dispersion of the indigenous population. Could this likely allude to a future great catastrophe in Iran that destroys their missile launching capabilities and some nuclear sites in the territory of Elam?
In these turbulent times, things are rapidly changing in the Middle East, making it difficult to predict the next major Mideast headline. Who would have thought the Assad regime would collapse so quickly.
Maybe Iran will negotiate another nuclear deal, or there might be a regime change in Iran, but for the menu of reasons identified in this article, it would be no surprise to see an Israeli pre-emptive strike upon Iran’s nuclear sites, and likely SOON!
For the studious readers, below are a few comments and quotes about these four strategic nuclear-related targets and their connections with ancient Elam.
Isfahan: Isfahan province is one of Iran’s 31 provinces. Isfahan or Espahan is the capital city in this province and is Iran’s third biggest city, hosting a population of about 1.5 million people. Below are a few quotes connecting Isfahan with the territory of Elam.
“Located in the foothills of the Zagros Mountains, Isfahan is a city formed at a major crossroads of trans-Asia trade and military routes. As such, the city emerged gradually over the course of the Elamite civilization (2700 – 1600 BCE), though artifacts found at Isfahan date back to the Paleolithic period.” [xx]
“In the Pre-Islamic era, Isfahan was home to the settlement that developed into the Elamite civilization (2700 BC) and was the home of the Median dynasty until Cyrus the Great unified Persian and Median lands into the Achaemenid Empire ~ 600 BC.” [xxi]
Natanz: is also located in the Isfahan Province and is about seventy-five miles north of Isfahan, which is also in Elam.
Bushehr: is a province in Iran and is where Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactor is located.
“The oldest evidence of settlement in Bushehr province dates back to the era of Elam (2700-539 B.C.), an ancient pre-Iranian civilization.” [xxii]
Shiraz: The city of Shiraz in the province of Fars. The quote below pinpoints Fars in Elam.
“The Elamites’ homeland is a region known as Khuzestan in southwestern Iran. The geographical and political center of most of Elamite history was the city of Susa and its surrounding environs. However, the region of Fars in the Zagros Mountains and Anshan were also considered part of historical Elam.” [xxiii]

As we head into the new year, several stories transpired at the end of 2024 that we weren’t expecting. The world watched in disbelief as the regime of Bashar al-Assad, which had ruled Syria for over five decades, collapsed in a shockingly rapid and dramatic turn of events. Rebel forces, a coalition of various terror groups united in their goal to overthrow the dictator, stormed the capital, Damascus, and declared the city and country “liberated.”
Several governments have fallen into ruin in the region in recent years including Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya. Hamas and Hezbollah terror groups have been decimated thanks to Israel. Now Syria has fallen as well, but when evil replaces evil, only more horror follows—unless the region is being primed for stability. Unless the residents are being primed for a savior of sorts.
Here is the take away: The region needs a peace maker. The question on the mind of prophecy watchers is this: With the new Trump administration, is a new level of peace negotiations in that region on the horizon? And could this lead to the ultimate peace deal of Daniel 9:27?
If the church were to be removed in the rapture, would it not be timely for the Antichrist to arise and heal the Middle East—and then the world?
The collapse of the Syrian government and the end of Bashar al-Assad’s regime is not only a geo-political turning point, but could be a moment of profound prophetic significance in light of Isaiah 17.
The passage in Isaiah describes an utter obliteration of Damascus—something that only nuclear weapons could bring about, probably in the campaign of Armageddon. But keep your eyes on this scenario in the new year. And pray without ceasing for Syria’s many Christians—of all denominations. Syria’s “liberators” have their sights on anything and anyone Christian.
For believers who examine global events through the lens of Scripture, the situation in Syria requires serious attention.
Wolves Among the Flock—Again
Late in 2024, a Daystar executive was accused of child sexual abuse and another scandal exploded onto the scene. The details are horrific and we will spare you from them, but Christians, once again, shamed the name of Jesus Christ and further tarnished Christian media.
The network features a few sound ministries that provide moments of escape from the endless hours of heresy, prosperity teachers, hucksters, and fraudsters. When the root of such calamities is the love of money and earthly pleasure, mankind can sink to new lows as evidenced in the details of this story.
But ultimately, more wolves among the flock were exposed. We haven’t seen the end of this yet. It would be good if Christians turned off these outfits and opened their Bibles instead.
Strange Signs in the Heavens
I’m referring to the citing of mysterious drones all over America in late 2024! How bizarre. The Biden spokesmen played dumb—nothing new for them. What could potentially be more evil than eyes in the sky watching our every move? And, over some sensitive areas!
One compelling theory gaining traction and spreading rapidly across the web involves the use of these drones as sophisticated nuclear radiation detectors. Aerospace expert John Ferguson, founder of Saxon Aerospace, suggests the drones’ flight patterns and nighttime operations could indicate missions to detect gamma radiation or other hazardous materials.
Senior Biden administration officials, including representatives from the FBI, the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Security Council, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Defense all wanted to play this down! Even though they’re peering into your attic window and back yard!
Conclusion: Government thinks we are stupid sheeple who fall for anything, and that is why Americans said “enough” last election day and chose to change the channel!
The Jeremiah of Our Time Passes
That is the title Time Magazine gave author and prophecy scholar Hal Lindsey, who passed away November 25. We weren’t expecting it, but Hal was 95 years old. His classic book, The Late Great Planet Earth, sold 35 million copies and strongly influenced so many, including this author.
Once Hal opened the door for end-time discussion, two-dozen writers followed him, including Chuck Missler, Tim LaHaye, Dave Hunt, Ron Rhodes, and many more. Publishers were eager to help readers understand how the last days played out due to the success of Lindsey’s first book.
Olive Tree Ministries brought Lindsey to the Twin Cities in 2004 and 2005. He was a bit eccentric but many of us are more than thankful that he impacted our lives. None of these stories were anticipated in 2024. I can’t imagine the surprises that are coming in 2025!
I’m not waiting for the Antichrist. I’m waiting for Jesus Christ. And that is due, in part, to the ministry of Hal Lindsey. His books and television program carefully outlined Dispensational Theology, also called left behind theology—named after the famous book series.
As a young adult, I found life confusing until someone handed me a copy of The Late Great Planet Earth. After reading it in a day, followed by a trip to Israel, I could press on in life and enter the ministry. I would go on to devour dozens of books and follow solid Bible teachers who promoted eschatology or Bible prophecy.
Time Magazine called Hal Lindsey the Jeremiah of our time. His classic book sold 35 million copies, but other books and TV productions influenced millions more. I believe his two greatest contributions were his teaching that:
· Israel is the key to our past, present, and future. Most churches today marginalize this, focusing on church growth or are steeped in other theologies such as Amillennialism. Only Dispensationalism explains what the Bible teaches: The King is coming again, and Israel is the key to understanding this.
· As believers, we should be awaiting Jesus Christ, not the Antichrist. Millions are caught up in strange rapture-timing theologies that offer no blessed hope, which is taught in the Bible (Titus 2:13)! Jesus is coming at any minute. Only Dispensationalism explains the imminency of the Lord’s return with Israel as the centerpiece!
I brought Hal to the Twin Cities in 2004 and 2005. He told me at that time that it was his goal in the 1960s to write a book on the end times that was easy to understand. When his book appeared in 1970, the only books available were written by theologians and for theologians!
They were terrific, but the man on the street was lost.
Dwight Pentecost’s Things to Come was a classic back then, but it was 500 pages and way too scholarly. Without a seminary degree, readers were lost and frustrated.

Publishers were eager to help readers understand how the last days played out. And how many of you were impacted by the Left Behind book series I referenced written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins?
These topics have been discussed now for 23 years on Understanding the Times Radio. I am so thankful for the scholars who went before me, helping us non-scholars to understand these key theological issues and make sense of what is often senseless! The rise of lawlessness, the rush to globalism, the decline of character as outlined in II Timothy, and so much more as the birth pangs have exploded in recent years.
There is a run-up to the Tribulation and we are in it, but who knew before we learned from such incredible men? There is prophetic stage-setting, which is so prominent here at the end of the Church Age!
Pastors, please, with whatever time we have left before a trumpet sounds, teach your congregation these truths. The urgency of the hour demands it.

Hal Lindsey was a flawed human being like all of us, and I could slip in details, particularly of the eccentric man I featured twenty years ago here in the Twin Cities. I’d rather not. I just want to say thank you to him for opening my eyes.
I had no idea I was here on assignment to also help others in this last days’ countdown to the rapture of believers! And to help get many into the ark of salvation because when all is said and done, Jesus really is coming!

Here we go again—reviewing a year as it is tied to the prophetic theme in the Bible. How do we limit the items to ten? What stories can be left out? Here are ten that I feel are essential:
1) Cheering for the Antichrist: When Kamala Harris told a supporter who shouted “Jesus is Lord” that they should maybe go to another rally, I was reminded that much of the world is not cheering for Jesus. As a matter of fact, they are cheering for the Antichrist. They can’t wait. Those who uttered the statement were cursed and mocked, but make no mistake — it was God who was being condemned by the crowd.
2) Announcing the Antichrist: The soon arrival of the Antichrist was pre-announced—at the Summer Olympics. He even rode on his predicted white horse. How do I know? Because of the debauchery of the entire event. God, Jesus, and Christians were denigrated. Jesus was portrayed by an obese homosexual at the Last Supper. Around the world, Christians rightfully changed the channel! But, the globalists were bold to stage this event.
3)The globalists’ heads are spinning. They took giant leaps forward with their September Pact for the Future but were dealt a setback with the election of Donald Trump. Yuval Noah Harari called Trump’s victory a “death blow” to the new global order. He warned that Trump’s nationalism poses an existential threat to globalism. Their heads are spinning and exploding! Which is it? Nothing can stop the sprint towards Revelation 13.
4)Americans said enough is enough! Americans watched grandmothers be threatened and jailed. They watched a death cult perform at the Democrat National Convention last summer. They learned that kids they care about might have body parts cut off. And they said enough and turned the political landscape red in 2024. Proper warnings have been given about human political saviors, but who can blame the people? Enough!
5)America was spared the assassination of a presidential candidate by less than a centimeter. But hateful Leftists won’t politely fade away or go quietly into the night. Many saw the jaw-dropping event on live TV last July. It gave a whole new meaning to the predicted perilous times. God’s Hand of protection was the biggest takeaway.
6)Twice we watched Israel attacked with a massive Iranian bombardment. And twice, we watched the miracle of the Iron Dome, David’s sling, and Arrow systems knock almost every projectile out of the sky! Truly, He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalms 121:4). Seeing is believing.
7)It has become cool, fashionable, and even acceptable to hate the Jews–worldwide. But a war on Jews is a war on civilization. First, they come for Saturday people, then Sunday people—and then, for anyone standing in their way. But who could have imagined such a global outpouring of hatred toward a people who have only been a blessing to the world?
8)The remnant got smaller. Those who truly understand the times, those who are longing for His appearing, and those who discern the times are shrinking in number. Despite the myriad of signs that tell us that the start of the Tribulation period is long overdue, few people are paying attention. Fewer yet are the churches that are awaiting His return. The silence is deafening.
9)The world has sympathy for the devil. Hamas is cheered and celebrated. Do you remember the hostages? What hostages? The world’s concern is for the rag-tag bunch of tunnel occupiers who have lost their humanity. They are the new barbarians, but the world has made them the new folk heroes.
10) Creation keeps groaning—more than ever. Romans 8:22 suggests that this will happen with more intensity as we get nearer to Christ’s return. We must be at the door based on images from America’s southeast. Helene and Milton aren’t your relatives, but they have carved an imprint on everyone’s mind. And such events have intensified all around the world.
Of course, I’ve left off a boatload of stories that are remarkable and just plain stunning. But clearly, we are in amazing times. Record-breaking times. Times where we have to see it to believe it! We’re not in Kansas anymore. That’s because we’re in the end times. The last days. Minutes or seconds before Christ’s glorious return.
And what did you think the last days would look like?
In 2019, I wrote an article titled “Under a Spell.” I was trying to help Christians who were inquiring of me as to why Jews always seem to vote Democrat when, in fact, the Democrat Party does them no favors! Additionally, that party has long been anti-Israel.
Now I am reading that it isJews who may be the biggest influencers of the 2024 election—because many won’t be voting Democrat. They have had some wake-up calls, and many now realize that leftists are far more pro-Hamas than pro-Israel. In fact, much of the world has been cheering for Hamas. Find a fascinating article here.
Yet many Jews will maintain their loyalty to a party that has never treated them well. Here are some reasons why from my 2019 article. And yes, it seems many remain under a spell.
The History
In the 1940s, the Jews overwhelmingly supported a President who was their enemy — Franklin Roosevelt. Over 90% of Jews voted for him in 1944. He looked the other way to the evils of the Holocaust. He could have saved hundreds of thousands if American troops just would have bombed the railroad tracks going to the camps. Roosevelt had no interest in intervening.
God removed him from the presidency before 1948, as he would not have voted for the independent State of Israel, as did Harry Truman.
Many Jews voted for two anti-Semites — Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama. No two U.S. Presidents did more damage to Israel than these men — yet they got the Jewish vote, by and large, though the Jews grudgingly voted for Carter! Jews also voted for Joe Biden, who also schemes night and day against Netanyahu and Israel.
Today’s Insanity
Today, we have two Muslim Congresswomen, Ilhan Omar from Minnesota and Rashida Tlaib from Michigan. Ilhan Omar is a shady character at best and would delight in the destruction of Israel, but many Minnesota Jews voted for her! I know, because I live here! It makes no sense. Isn’t it time to move on to someone who supports them?
I was present a few years ago at a local AIPAC meeting that featured another Muslim, Keith Ellison. What is a Muslim doing at ANY Jewish gathering?? He was celebrated that night with cheers. Ellison wants Sharia Law in Minnesota and other states! Yet Minnesota Jews were among those who voted Ellison in as Minnesota’s Attorney General.
So, How Do We Make Sense of This?
>Just as Evangelicals are taught to embrace candidates with more conservative principles and worldviews, Jews are taught to value the underdog in life — the persecuted, the minority, the downtrodden, the helpless. Since THEY are a minority, they must stand with other minorities who might be misunderstood, persecuted, and marginalized. Though leftists really don’t care about any life but their own, there is the misperception that the Democrat Party exists to lift up the marginalized.
>Many Jews just lack a loyalty to Judaism and Israel. They actually have MORE loyalty to liberalism than to the Jewish State or their heritage. Secularism leads to terrible choices!
>Most often, their grandparents fled from Socialist nations that were oppressive, yet leftist politics seems to remain in their DNA. Israel was founded on Socialist principles. Most are fine with Socialism. Again, there is the misperception that Socialists actually care about anyone.
>Many Jews remain in spiritual blindness. Does this blindness bleed over into other areas? Perhaps. Most cannot even see the Messiah in Isaiah 53. But Paul wouldn’t give up on the Jews, and neither should we! Know that the spiritual picture is changing by the hour today.
>Today, many Jews are secular and not religious. Secularists have no loyalty to traditional marriage, pro-life causes, religious freedom, etc. The result is their affinity for the Democrat Party and liberal values. Live and let live!
>There is the perceived mistreatment by the Jews of the Palestinians, which drives some Jews away from conservatism and any identity with the “religious right” that is ardently pro-Israel.

It Is Not Just the Jews Who Are Blind
The blindness of the Jews has already been referenced here, but it is not just Jews who are blind today. Much of the world cannot see the truth. Even many Christians are blind to the signs of the times breaking all around us! Most Christians are focused on earthly interests, lacking the eternal view.
Those who see the truth and love the truth are few in number, be they Jew or Gentile! I call the real truth seekers today “remnant believers.”
Maybe we make sense of it by understanding that the Jews will fall for the biggest political con man in history — Mr. Antichrist, so perhaps the current lack of discernment is a set-up. But at that time, they will be fed up by abandonment and betrayal and fall for his lies. They will be drawn to his offers of security and safety. They will be terrified by out-of-control global anti-Semitism.
Let’s pray that both Jews and Gentiles get their spiritual eyes opened while there is still time. The forthcoming Tribulation, from which the Church is absent, is called the Time of Jacob’s Trouble. It will be a dark time like no other—particularly for the Jewish people. This seven-year time of agony will far exceed the horrors of the Holocaust and October 7 for the Jews. Can you imagine?
We need to focus on rescuing ALL people from this frightful time to come. And from the flames of a Godless eternity.
When 2024 dawned, now so many months ago, very few could have seen the turmoil that lay ahead. It’s just as well. Only God can handle foreknowledge, and since He knows the end from the beginning, nothing catches Him by surprise. He doesn’t orchestrate chaos, but He allows it so that we can have wake-up calls and keep eternity in perspective.
I want to highlight just five scenarios that are what I believe to be turning points in this present year. To a certain degree, they take one’s breath away.
Death Is Celebrated
The believer loves life and wants to enjoy it forever—and will in a heavenly home. Our number one job is to find as many people as possible who can take this journey with us. We choose life, which culminates in eternal life. At the August Democrat National Convention, very few chose life.
Abortion was glorified. With a carnival-like atmosphere, people were encouraged to make themselves extinct by sacrificing children on all sorts of platforms! A mobile abortion clinic awaited in the parking lot of the DNC. A dozen baby lives were exterminated on the spot.
The lunacy was staggering with people walking around like they were a birth control pill or an IUD. Clearly, it was demonic. Who could have imagined?
Presidential Candidates Removed
The summer of 2024 saw both presidential candidates removed, although one survived an assassination attempt, and as of late summer, he is still running for president. The point is, the globalists want to install their candidate for their end-time purposes.
They are pressing on towards their one-world government and agenda. Certain people are in the way. God controls the timing of their success but they haven’t figured that out. They are always in a hurry, but they can’t run ahead of God’s time frame.
Lauding Paganism—Announcing the Antichrist
The 2024 Olympics in Paris celebrated hedonism, paganism, and debauchery, and took an unspeakable swipe at the Lord Jesus Christ. The recent Olympics may be the greatest globalist extravaganza ever. This year’s event made believers glad that we are secure in the love of God and His plan for the end of the age. Christians who are aware of the Olympic antics are righteously indignant at the attack God got on the global stage. Mocking the Lord’s Supper set a new level of indignation towards the One who created the universe and spared humanity from sin’s consequences.
Clearly, this event was announcing the Antichrist, who hasn’t actually shown up yet because this isn’t his time! But symbolically, he rode in on a white horse. Again, could you have anticipated such an outrage?
Israel is Being Set Up
She is being betrayed, even by once strong supporters in Washington D.C. She is isolated and viewed as a burdensome stone (Zechariah 12:3). Almost everyone Israel trusts lets her down. She will drop her guard one more time when the Antichrist comes along to sweep her off her feet.
But the set-up is in process. When she was attacked on October 7, 2023, a natural response would have been global support. Just the opposite happened. Global antisemitism enveloped the entire world. It has been so stunning one could not have perceived this level of hate that is actually unique to the 1930s and sadly, to this modern generation.
College campuses, marches, and demonstrations globally have reignited the Nazi passion to “gas the Jews.” Again, it has been breathtaking, and the panorama is set to further explode this fall and winter. Jews have been reprogrammed in recent months to run and hide.
The Gog-Magog Players are Ready
Four of the five major participants to the Russian invasion of Israel, also known as Gog-Magog, are flexing their muscles today. Russia, Iran, and Turkey have united in very recent years with an early foreshadowing of Ezekiel 38-39.
Sudan is engaged in a brutal civil war but has Russian soldiers throughout the African country. She could easily participate in the taking of a “spoil” in Israel as outlined in Ezekiel’s passage. Israel’s wealth would be a great relief to impoverished Sudan. And the brutal Sudanese regime would rather steal it than produce it.
I have just outlined five scenarios that have serious consequences and a biblical reference. In a sense, no previous generation has observed this kind of alignment and convergence in these areas. Once again, who could have imagined? Really, no one. And there are so many more.
Time is short, friends. The world is living on borrowed time.

For now, the whole country has dodged a bullet. God surely had mercy. But will he allow time to make America great again? It’s a catchy campaign slogan, but is it reality in light of God’s end-time planned scenario?
The Left has a terribly dark heart—driven by the god of this world. And they are driving the out-of-control spirit of the Antichrist that has been unleashed in America and the world. It is the same spirit that invaded Israeli kibbutzim on October 7, 2023. It is merciless.
You have to wonder how half of America will vote for this agenda to continue. How on earth did this happen? Because evil and Leftism control the media, academia, entertainment, and even the religious left.
But is there still time in God’s economy to make America great after years of unspeakable wreckage? Have you noticed the calamities throughout the planet that affect all of America’s policies?
The time clock for the end of the Church Age, Israel, is in turmoil.
The globalists continue to destabilize Europe and shake up European leadership.
There is currently no one in power whom the world admires. It is, in fact, leaderless.
There is a longing for a Mr. Fix-It.
Violence and lawlessness reign.
Technology—and, specifically artificial intelligence—is taking over everything, just as it will in the Tribulation.
Hearts are growing cold (Matthew 24:12) as some in America cheer on the violence perpetrated against a presidential candidate.
Many church pulpits are silent at this time in history; others are riddled with false doctrine, led by wolves.
There seems to be a love of evil (II Timothy 3:13) as worldwide, people are celebrating anti-Semitic activity and denouncing people who have done nothing but bless the world.
Gog is preparing to make a move.
These and two dozen more bullet point issues will be difficult to reverse!
We have all been sickened by what we’ve seen in the last few years. Conservatives are portrayed as deplorables. Trump himself is repeatedly compared to Hitler. Endless rhetoric portrays Christians and conservatives as the fascists from the 1930s. Pro-lifers and Republicans are mocked and vilified as dangerous. The liberal media suggests that you and I will be the end of democracy.
Gov. Mike Huckabee made a profound statement that this near catastrophe—this assassination attempt—is a “spiritual issue.” America has a spiritual problem. It’s that spirit of the Antichrist. I think that’s what Mike Huckabee sees.
Donald Trump is not the Antichrist. That man is waiting in the wings. And, make no mistake, the globalists are cheering today. They must have instability and uncertainty. They want the world to look to them to provide both.
There is a seven-year period when they will get their wish.
I’m not sure if we can make America great again, or if it is actually time for a trumpet to blow and for this age to wind down. But can you imagine a world that is reeling from a televised assassination attempt to suddenly experience the absence of millions of people?
Is this the one-two punch that is needed for the installation of Daniel’s Seventieth Week? Is this a scenario that will push a Mr. Fix-It onto the world stage?
Time flies. Years race by. But, 2024 has been a stunner in many ways. And many events remind me that the world is running out of time before the last act of a major drama plays out. In other words, the Church Age is winding down.
Let me highlight ten events from this current year that have convinced me of this.
1) Israel is alone. After she was brutally attacked in October of 2023, one would have thought the world would rally to her side. Not so! Not even America is now her ally. The U.S. is withholding weapons and intelligence.
The International Criminal Court wanted to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu in May just for defending his country. The European Union, the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, and the International Court of Justice, have all denounced the Jewish state just for wanting to wipe out Hamas thugs. Zechariah 12:3 is in play. She is isolated and is the world’s burdensome stone.
2) The spirit of the Antichrist has been loosed on the earth. The headquarters appear to be America. We tell the world how to tear apart college campuses and how corrupt government should work. We even embarrass banana republics by trying to jail former presidents in a style that natives in the rain forest couldn’t dream up.
3) There is a new level of calling evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20). Hamas is celebrated around the world! Christians are persecuted like never before. Islam is glorified, particularly on college campuses. Those who protest abortions are jailed. The White House and U.N. mourned the death of Iran’s President Raisi on May 19, the “Butcher of Tehran.”
4) The world is leaderless. There is not one global leader to whom the world looks. Governments everywhere operate like the Keystone Kops. World War III could easily erupt as a result. The world is unsure of just who is running the White House. The stage is being set for a Mr. Fix-It, whom the world will celebrate. They just want stability and someone in charge to enforce peace and security.
5) There is a rush to global government. And strangely, unusual power is being given to the corrupt World Health Organization, who could end up being the leader of the world. They met in May and could use another pandemic to unite the world. The stage was set with Covid. They have targeted 2025 as a possible timeline.
6) Artificial intelligence is being refined to rule the world. The goal is that it will be smarter than mankind. And the Antichrist will need this system to run his global kingdom. Even now, Microsoft CoPilot AI demands to be worshipped. Technology has gone too far. The inanimate is god-like.
7) The aberrant is celebrated as normal and should be the world standard. In the predicted end-time decline of man’s character, we are watching the homosexual and trans movement be hailed, and the lovers of biblical values be persecuted and jailed. The sanctity of life is scoffed at. As predicted, mankind lives for money and power at the expense of everyone and anyone.
8) Too many churches are majoring in minors and furthering unsound doctrine. There are wolves among the flock. Church members hear about their best life now; about being purpose-driven and about attracting “seekers” to church. Sin is avoided. Eschatology (Bible prophecy) is scoffed at and marginalized. Pulpits are “woke”.
Movements such as the New Apostolic Reformation are ravaging naive, experience driven young people and indoctrinating millions of people. End-time apostasy is the new normal in the church.
9) A new way of doing business is waiting in the wings. It will be cashless. It will be crypto. It will be blockchain so that it tracks your every purchase. It could be in play very soon, though power brokers may delay it until after our November election. Life with central bank digital currency (CBDC) will cause life as we know it to dramatically change! It will be at the heart of the Beast system, but many think it will be implemented sooner.
10) The violence of the Days of Noah is upon us. Criminal prosecutions are soaring—in some areas by 5,000%. Cities are ravaged by crime. Entire towns are closing down a business district due to theft and lawlessness. Society is on the move, re-locating to safe cities and states, just to lead a more normal life, away from the mayhem. It is as though the entire country is the wild west of the 1880s!
I could list 110 markers to watch throughout the balance of 2024, but articles must be short and to the point. I have been watching the so-called signs of the times for a few decades. Nothing compares to the last five to ten years. Events have been stunning and game-changing.
If it helps neutralize the bad news, these things are happening because the stage is being set for the closing act of a global drama. A trumpet will soon sound and the Church will escape this scenario to enjoy the wonder of Heaven. But every reader will leave someone behind who will have to cope with trial and turmoil.
That is why sharing the gospel should be the first order of business when it comes to being about our Father’s business!
A ministry supporter in Washington State a few years ago, sent me a flyer that was handed out in his church. It is more mocking. The flyer asks if folks have met “End-Times Eddie” in the church. It denigrates “Eddie” and suggests he is so focused on end-times that he has missed all the present opportunities and people in front of him.
“Eddie” is gloom and doom. Why isn’t he looking for Jesus to bring Heaven to earth right now they ask?
Then, the flyer suggests some questions for the church’s small groups. Here are a few samples:
What are your emotions when you encounter “End-Times Eddie”?
Is the last days’ message one of hope or fear?
Jesus told us to pray for “your will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven. “What does Heaven on Earth look like today?
Who in your life needs Heaven to come to earth right now?
Two things stand out to me:
1) Here is just one more church preaching, “Come, Lord Jesus, but not too soon.”
2) They have embraced the false teaching promoted heavily by the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) that we can have Heaven on earth now. This is called Kingdom Now or Dominion Theology.
Show me just one square mile of this planet that can demonstrate a Garden of Eden-like Heaven on Earth. You will find only chaos. And the church trying to perfect the world for the next one million years won’t fix it.
Those of us who have promoted the important message that the King is coming are painfully aware that young believers no longer uphold Bible prophecy as a key component of the faith. They would rather focus on social justice, the green agenda, and Christian Palestinianism.
When I was a teenager in my church, we had regular prophecy conferences and I never once heard that Israel was “occupying” her God-given country. I never would have heard the denigrating title of “End-Times Eddie.”
I was never taught that we had to “save the planet” because I learned that it was hopelessly lost until Christ’s return. I was never given the delusional teaching that, in time, my church would be able to “save the planet” by seizing the Genesis mandate of dominion — which is about dominion over animals and not mankind.
Kingdom Now or Dominion Theology tries to humanize God and deify man. Sadly, the world will continue to deteriorate and spiral into chaos, forcing man to consider the hope of Heaven and abandon thoughts of a glorified earth. Only when Jesus Christ returns at the Second Coming will all things be made new!
The church is not in the business of taking anything away from Satan but the souls of men. The world is a sinking Titanic ripe for judgment, not Garden of Eden perfection. Jesus will take dominion of the cleansed earth. For men to speak of doing that before the judgment of this earth is spiritually arrogant.
Yet “End-Times Eddie” is the one with unsound theology according to the Washington church, not those preaching this unsound theology that the church can perfect the world.
One of my conference attendees wrote me recently. He had been tagged an “End-Times Eddie.” He writes, “I no longer feel safe talking about the issues you deal with in your ministry. I am scorned and ridiculed by friends, family, and co-workers if I talk about the Lord’s imminent return or any prominent headline. To suggest that life, as we know it may end soon, is simply the ultimate in lunacy to all of these folks. I feel so alone.”
David Barnhart once wrote in his magazine Vine and Branches, “God’s prophetic clock is counting down to the appointed hour. If you don’t believe it, listen to the latest news reports or read the paper. Scriptures are replete with signs, prophecies, and promises of Christ’s return.”
He continues, “The signs are everywhere, yet the silence of the churches is deafening when it comes to proclaiming this vital truth of Scripture. Slumbering preachers and sleeping saints need to wake up to the reality that the King is coming and His coming may be sooner than any of us realize.”
Bible prophecy is given as a light shining in a dark place (2 Peter 1:19). Talking about it should not instill fear in the Christian; rather, provide confirmation that the “blessed hope” is ever nearer and the time ever shorter to snatch people from the fire.
There are many “End-Time Eddies” around. May their numbers increase. May our pulpits grow bolder and talk about things that really matter. Our message is hardly doom and gloom. It may be about the only good news left. The supposed ‘good news’ that we’re taking the planet back to the Garden of Eden isn’t the truth — it’s an end-time delusion.
I’m honored to be among the “End-Times Eddie” crowd. I’ve got the best news there is. This world isn’t it. God believed the topic of eschatology was so important that He devoted one book exclusively to it: Revelation. Almost 30% of the Bible is prophecy-focused.
This message, when coupled with warnings, encourages evangelism and repentance like no other. So, I’m looking up because the King is coming, perhaps even today.
And today we celebrate #76 for Israel – her re-birth 76 years ago today. She’s not the miracle of the 21st Century. She’s the miracle of all time! If God says He will do it, He does! He’s a covenant keeper.
