Yet another pointer to where this generation stands upon God’s prophetic timeline is the emerging of globalism’s powers as they construct the final world kingdom. We have God’s Word on what I believe we see beginning to form as Daniel the prophet foretold through interpretation of Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar’s strange dream:

And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. (Daniel 2:40-43)

This is the description of the ten-kingdom power base that will form Antichrist’s regime for controlling all peoples of the world. This power platform, too, is described in a brief mention by John, another of God’s great prophets:

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:7-8)

Fifth and Final World Power

Daniel prophesied that the fifth world power will come out of the fourth. We know the order of world empires from history. The first Daniel interpreted was Babylon. The second would be the Medo-Persian. The third would be the Greek Empire, and the fourth would be the Roman Empire, represented in Nebuchadnezzar’s night-vision by the legs of iron. The fifth empire–the final empire, and the only one that is yet to come into being as fulfilled prophecy–is represented by the feet and toes of that metallic monstrosity.

To my understanding, the five world empires given to Daniel in metallic representations–i.e., gold for the head, silver for the breast and arms, brass or bronze for the belly and thighs, and iron for the legs, feet and toes–is indicative of money and the power to rule over the inhabitants of planet earth. Metals have most always been at the center of any economy throughout history. And when the metals represented the power to mold and construct weaponry–e.g., spears, bullets, bombs, warcraft-like tanks, planes, and ships, et cetera–the power of the metal and the economies of the world powers become understandable. Money is power, and power is control. These are inextricably linked.

The fifth world power will come from the Roman Empire, which disintegrated but is reforming, we who observe prophecy from the pre-Trib view believe. We believe the European Union is almost certainly the nucleus out of which this last Gentile power is emerging. This is the area of central Europe in particular. Rome is the very heart of that nucleus.

Antichrist Comes Forth

Daniel also prophesied about the last world empire’s leader who would leap to center stage at just the right moment in Satan’s plans to bring him to power:

And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (Daniel 9:26-27)

Antichrist, “the beast,” as this vicious future tyrant is termed, will come to power and rule ruthlessly. His power will emanate from economics–the ability to call all to worship him through a mark-and-numbering system that will control buying and selling. (Read Revelation 13:16-18 to understand this 666 system of absolute control.)

Economics Set the End-times Stage

We are witnessing economic rearrangements at present like no other generation has seen. Even the United States–as anyone with any sense of what’s been going on in the news will attest–is being forced into a mold of one-world economic order. It is all leading toward the mark-and-numbering system that will give Antichrist his power. (Read Revelation 17:12-13 to learn of the ten economic power blocs that will develop, then give power and authority to the Beast–Antichrist, the ruler of the fifth and final world empire.)

Again, the European powers are apparently to  be the nucleus of this satanic kingdom of ten kingdoms. However, the whole world will be absorbed into this agglomerate power base.  The following reports the continuing emergence of other areas of the world that will ultimately join so Antichrist can control most of the world once he leaps upon the stage of post-Rapture history.

The agglomerate bloc known as BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) represents growing economic and demographic heft: the eleven BRICS countries now comprise more than a quarter of the global economy and almost half of the world’s population:

“Whether it’s called a BRICS or ‘Western’ order, it is all the WEF-UN global order.

“BRICS-based multipolarity will save us from ‘The Technocratic Dark State’ by making the rollout of an oppressive global surveillance state much better. This will be the result of ‘improving global governance.’ At least, that is according to the BRICS Outcome Document published by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs after the latest riveting meeting of BRICS foreign ministers.

“The global dictatorship will be a happier, fluffier kind of new world order tyranny under the BRICS’ multipolar model because it will be ‘more just, equitable, agile, effective, efficient, responsive, representative, legitimate, democratic and accountable.’ Fantastic news, doubtless welcomed by those Hrvoje Morić refers to as the ‘Multipolaristas.’

“Though the BRICS’ document reads like the worst kind of globalese dross imaginable, it is important to remember that the BRICS are offering us the promise of a ‘beautiful multi-polar world order defined by win-win cooperation.’ Presumably, this is because humanity must have some sort of centralised, oligarch-led global dictatorship enslaving it for any of us to have a chance to ‘win.’ “(“BRICS proposes a multipolar world order; it is the same as the WEF-UN led world order under a different name,” By Rhoda Wilson, Expose, May 18, 2026)

Paul the apostle wrote of the economic reality that drives the world toward God’s judgment and wrath:

“But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil” (1 Timothy 6:9-10a).

Rushing toward the End

Certainly, the truth of God’s Word frames what’s happening at this time in history, and where it all is heading as the rulers of this fallen sphere grasp for the wealth of this world and strive to cast off the bonds of governance God wisely placed upon the would-be masters of planet earth.

Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. (James 5:1-6)

We are in the end-of-the-age era of the toes of Nebuchadnezzar’s night vision.

Only the Rapture of believers stand between the people of planet earth who will be left behind and this, what Jesus called the worst time of human history (Matthew 24:21).

You don’t want to be part of that left-behind world. Here  once again is how to escape that time and go to Christ and safety when He calls believers:

That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10: 9-10)

The greatly memorialized human figures of earth’s history speak to whom man believes is in charge of life upon the planet. Nimrod is the first individual to be thus lifted to “deity” status by the people of the post-antediluvian era.

Those who created the stories of humankind’s rise from that Tower of Babel time seem to have used Nimrod to create the legend of Gilgamesh in Mesopotamian legend. Their historical proximity seems logical to their linkage, but there is no known historical evidence that Nimrod and Gilgamesh were one and the same.

We can be certain that one was a living being. Nimrod is chronicled in God’s Word, while Gilgamesh is a demigod of legend.

From that post-Flood beginning and forward into the progression of history, the earth has been a record of greatly exalted individuals–mostly men—as history has unfolded over the millennia.

Kings, potentates, monumental military leaders, and masters of the world’s governments continue to rule, with many such holding near absolute power over horrendous dictatorships.

The American experiment in liberty cannot be considered anything other than unique in the annals of humankind and the restrictions imposed upon the masses of our planet.

Plato’s Republic was an early, but merely a literary, effort to frame a just and thriving governance under which humanity could live. But it was the framers of the United States Constitution who have come the closest to implementing such a magnificently proposed government.

To this point in this commentary, only human governance has been dissected. All of history’s preeminent, exalted individuals can be looked at as positioned upon a gigantic chessboard of sorts–a bit more stylized than the literal, but nonetheless a board upon which dynamic movement continues to shape the destiny of the human race.

The board is full of kings, queens, knights, bishops, and rooks that dominate that shaping. But these are not figures under the movement of a human hand as in that literal game of strategizing for conquest.  

But supernatural hands do provide the movement, and that movement can be studied throughout history. It has been intricately chronicled and meticulously recorded—sometimes accurately, sometime not so much, but rather rewritten to serve the chess master of nefarious scheming on one side of the board.

This is where the pawns come into our view of this strangely arranged chessboard.

Each king, queen, knight, bishop, and rook throughout history who have been given accolades for the movement of human progress are themselves pawns, without cognizance of their true powerlessness. They are but pawns of their allotted increment of time on this chessboard we can liken to earth’s surface.

On the one side of this planetary chessboard sits the “player” who insinuated himself upon chessboard earth as recorded in Genesis.

Lucifer the fallen one has manipulated with his wicked fingers control over the likes of Nimrod, Pharaoh, the Caesars of Rome, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and myriad other diabolists upon chessboard earth’s history. He continues to exert control over the evil kings, queens, knights, bishops, rooks, and all other such pawns as this age winds up for the spectacular return of the True King–the Lord Jesus Christ!

On the other side is the true Chess Master, the God of Heaven. The True King, God’s Only Begotten Son, is the objective of the iniquitous Lucifer’s all-out attempt to conquer and to replace the King of all kings.

The sinful pawns of all the ages were defeated at the cross of Calvary and on Resurrection morning!

This eternal game of chess was already over before it even began. Prophecy from God’s Holy Word tells all creation of the Supreme chess master’s victory!

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.  (Psalms 2: 1-12)

At this moment when signals in every direction indicate that this world is building toward some climactic, world-changing disruption, the powers that be have determined to push our button of fascination with talk of visitors from space.

The president of the United States started the build-up toward releasing long-held secrets about UFO sightings and information in answering a reporter’s question in a recent Oval Office press briefing. About the upcoming release of the information, the president said, “I think some of it’s going to be very interesting to people.”

In that comment, Mr. Trump went just about as far as any president has gone toward truly letting us in on what the government knows about this question that has held Americans, and for that matter, the world, in a state of fascination for decades. But now we are on the cusp of learning, apparently, just how much is documented about visitors from out there somewhere.

As a matter of fact, the government seems to be trying to create increased interest in these unidentified phenomena.

I offer the following news item with this caveat: While Perry Stone has the gospel of Jesus Christ at the heart of his ministry, his extrabiblical extrapolations can, to some, be off-putting speculation. However, I don’t think he would be deliberately deceptive. I believe the meeting described below actually took place.

Perry Stone, a well-known evangelist, author and Bible teacher from Tennessee, warned that fellow pastors were recently invited to a secret meeting with US intelligence officials to prepare for the release of secret files on extraterrestrials. According to Stone, the officials warned a small group of pastors with a large reach in the Christian community that the government was about to release reports and possibly videos of aliens and spacecraft which were not from this planet.

In the April 27 video posted to his YouTube channel, the evangelist claimed that pastors were told about the existence of ‘reptilian’ creatures, UFOs and materials from a non-human origin and ‘other things that almost sound like something out of a sci-fi movie.’

On February 19, President Trump ordered the Pentagon and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to release all information the government possesses regarding UFOs and alien life.

Last week, Trump said that the first files would be released ‘very, very soon’ and would contain some ‘very interesting’ things for the public.

However, officials in this secret meeting allegedly said the information on its way may cause some Christians to question how the universe was created and even lose faith in religion.

Stone said: ‘You’re going to have people who are going to say if there are galaxies and there are allegedly other creations in the galaxies, then the whole creation story is a myth, and you’re going to have people that’s going to apostatize and turn from the Christian faith because they have no answer for what they’re about to hear. (“Religious leaders told ‘prepare now’ for UFO disclosure to unleash Bible-changing revelations,”by Chris Melore, deputy science editor for dailymail.com)

Such a meeting, if indeed conducted by the US government, raises the major question: Why? Why is a religious group as described by Mr. Stone selected to divulge such information? And, why the expressed fear by government that such information, when given to the public, might result in a turn from traditional Bible belief regarding the earth’s creation and all the rest?

Another elected governmental official interjects an interesting question into this matter.

According to a US News story, “There’s Things Out There,” US Rep. Anna Paulina Luna has insights into things pertaining to UFO/UAP matters that perhaps involve ancient biblical presentation.

In a wide-ranging and eyebrow-raising conversation with Joe Rogan, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) made bold claims about unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), including references to interdimensional beings and unexplained movement “outside of time and space.”

Luna, who chairs the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, told Rogan she has seen classified photos of unidentified objects that, in her words, were “not created by mankind.” While she stopped short of sharing those images, Luna said she viewed them inside a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and believes they represent technology or entities beyond current human understanding. Representative Luna went on to imply that to get insight into the nature of what’s going on in the UAP matter, she believes one should read the book of Jude. These, she offered, could be not extraterrestrial intrusions, but interdimensional in origin.

This supposition/postulation, of course, is backed by truth from God’s Word. These are, I believe, interdimensional entities–like those who left their first estate and came to earth to cohabit with human women.

I have offered before that these will be part of the explanation of what has just happened when the Rapture occurs and millions, including all children below the age of accountability, vanish from the surface of planet earth.

The “space brothershave come to intervene into the dangerous affairs of humankind”–or something to that effect—will likely be the official explanation.

I believe these might well be Satan and his hordes who are kicked out of Heaven for the final time, as described in Revelation chapter 12. These might appear to be orbs of fire descending while the False Prophet of Revelation chapter 13 calls fire down from the heavens in the sight of the image of the Beast.

It will be interesting to see exactly what is divulged when the files promised by the president are finally released.

A preliminary dump of information within government files has now been released. But there doesn’t seem much in it to cause excitement.

However, one government official announced that some truly astounding information is coming soon.

Regardless of what those files will show, the Bible clearly says there will be a massive invasion of earth by the hordes from the heavens. Satan and his fallen angels will come to the planet with great wrath and vengeance in mind for earth’s inhabitants.

Here is how to avoid facing those fallen angels who are coming to earth to make life hell on this judgment-bound planet: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31b).

We’ve heard for years from President Trump and other presidents’ declarations that Iran can never have a nuclear weapon. This objective is the primary reason given for the war waged against the terroristic Iranian regime–in the first attack on Iran’s nuclear centrifuges called Operation Midnight Hammer.

The radical Islamists in control of Iran since the revolution that overthrew the shah in 1979 have proven to never let up on their declaration to destroy all who oppose their version of Islam. The leaders and the people who follow them have screamed their chants for years: “Death to the big Satan—America,” and “Death to the little Satan, Israel.”

These have waged war, usually terroristic, with small groups of militants, or with individuals with bombs strapped to their bodies or the bodies of their children. They strike in the screaming rant that “Allah is great!”

The theological premise used to foment such deadly fanaticism is based upon the Koran and passages declaring that all who are not willing to bow the knee to their version of Islam are infidels, thus are worthy of death.

This fanatical Islamist history of murderous intentions leaves the rational among us realizing that if the Iranian regime ever achieved nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, they would act on their desire to eliminate the United States and especially Israel. These Islamists hold to the Koranic dogma that by bringing on the final world war, they’re doing the will of Allah, thus they must do whatever possible to bring on that war.

It is a satanic rage from which they suffer, spawned by the hater-in-chief against all humanity, and against God’s chosen people and nation in particular. That hellish rage was made manifest for the world to see on October 7, 2023, when the most wicked atrocities imaginable were carried out with the massacre of men, women, children, and even infants. Hostages were taken and the current ongoing action grew from that attack.

So, is there any wonder that this president and Israeli’s leadership have declared that this evil regime must not be allowed to achieve deliverable nuclear warheads? 

President Trump has consistently said the nuclear material, now apparently enriched to 60 percent, must be given over or Iran will face an unthinkable consequence. This continues to be both Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu’s threat.

Why has this removal not yet been accomplished? Trump has proven time and time again to mean what he says. Yet he keeps moving the dates, etc., choosing to seemingly hope for talks with the Iran fanatics who’ve now become the leadership to be diplomatically successful.

All the while, prices rise worldwide because of the regime’s threatened action against shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and other reprisals for American and Israeli military action.

The regime’s leadership, it is conjectured–and I think Trump and Netanyahu believe—will never surrender their nuclear material. Nuclear threat is the only ingredient within their deadly plans that gives them credence on the world stage of geopolitics. If they surrender the nuclear material, they will no longer hold the world in fear of their madness.

At the same time, Mr. Trump and his team of military know the option they have is to destroy the enriched uranium believed to be beneath the Bushehr mountains. As a matter of fact, with today’s sophisticated surveillance capabilities, there is no doubt where that material is located.

America has proven this area could be struck at any time, thus eliminating the threat.

Why has this decision not yet been made?

I believe it’s all part of God’s restraining hand as placed upon prophecy yet future. I’m almost certain that the president, of course, has no understanding of this prophecy. But Mr. Trump does know about the kind of havoc an all-out attack on this nuclear material would cause.

Therefore, this is where I believe Bible prophecy might enter the matters involved.

My friend Bill Salus has written extensively on this prophecy. His book, Nuclear Showdown in Iran: Revealing the Ancient Prophecy of Elam, involves the very region where resides the nuclear material that is at the heart of conflict in Iran.

That Jeremiah 49 prophecy is as follows:

It is true that such destruction might come from catastrophe such as a massive earthquake rather than as an attack upon Iran’s nuclear material hiding place. This prophecy, however, seems to be in view to those who “watch” as commanded by our Lord. If President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu determine that this regime of Islamist fanatics will in no case surrender this enriched nuclear stockpile, an attack to obliterate that stockpile might likely be launched.

This could result in just the kind of chaos and scattering the prophet Jeremiah warned about.

This potential nuclear disaster for the Iranian people is why, I believe, every effort at diplomacy is being employed at present. These administrations–American and Israeli—want to make it clear that this was the only option in the final analysis, if indeed the attack is launched.

This is a time for all Christians who believe Bible prophecy is truth from God’s Word to be watchful.

All of God’s Word, of course, speaks to the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ. The first phase of that return will be the Rapture of the Church–the taking of all believers into the clouds of Glory and safety from all that will then transpire on this judgment-bound planet.

Here is how to make sure you are called by Christ to that safety at the Rapture:

That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)

Israel, at this late moment upon history’s timeline, has, in all truthfulness, only one other nation as a close, dependable friend. Notably, from the pre-Trib Bible prophecy perspective, that nation-state friend is the most powerful ever to grace the planet’s surface.

Israel’s nuclear capability and America’s stupendous military and technological might are strong defensive ingredients for modern Israel’s protection. But, while surrounded by forces of overwhelming numbers whose satanic rage cannot be stemmed, it is, in truth, an unconventional army that is Israel’s greatest ally.

This ally contingent holds the joint Israeli-American defensive coalition in place, and in God’s prophetic plan. It is a spiritual force that is Israel’s closest friend. Christians, particularly in America, make up the spiritual army that supports Israel’s right to exist as does no other group on earth.

I must qualify that statement because today there are so many divergent claims to the name of Christ–differing views about what it means to be a “Christian.” The definition I use here is one who has been “born again” (John 3:3). This means that a person has been born into the family of God for all eternity.

The only way for this to happen is for an individual to accept Christ’s sacrifice on the cross at Calvary–His shed blood—to pay for that person’s sin, which separates the individual from God. Those who are “born again” make up this army of defenders of Israel’s right to exist in its ancient homeland.

This army doesn’t bear physical arms or fight literally on the bloody fields surrounding Israel. This army fights with prayer for the peace of Jerusalem and does spiritual battle for Israel while that Jewish state moves in blind unrepentance toward its ultimate great destiny–to be the head of all nations during the millennium, Christ’s thousand-year reign on earth.

America Plunges While the Church Arises

America, the golden cup in the Lord’s hand for more than two centuries–having disseminated the gospel to the world and having been the midwife of Israel’s birth into modern times, then its protector—is not mentioned in Bible prophecy by name. However, supposedly lesser nations of history are mentioned, such as Persia (present-day Iran, a name we’re certainly familiar with), Syria, and others. Russia fits into the region known in ancient times as “Rosh.” But this once-shining city on the hill called America is nowhere to be found as the very end of days unfold.

So, what happens to the United States of America?

We’ve looked at my view–which I believe is the biblical view—that God’s people, the Christians of these end times, are Israel’s most fervent friends. But again I must write a word of qualification. Not all the born again believe Israel is God’s chosen nation as given in the Old Testament. Most Christians today don’t even think in terms of Israel and its prophetic destiny one way or the other. This is because, in many cases, they aren’t taught the truth by their pastors and teachers. Also, they may not do enough study on their own to open their spiritual minds on these things so the Holy Spirit can instruct them regarding Israel and prophecy yet future.

So, it is a relatively small group that observes prophetic matters as outlined in God’s Word.  The others are ignorant of these things. Many are willfully ignorant.

No matter the tragic state of the spiritually weakened Church in these last days, God hasn’t let slip from His mighty grasp the Israel/America miracle He began to form in history now long past. Be assured, those among the heaven-bound, end-times Christians who do understand Israel’s place in God’s holy eyes are key to America’s ultimate destiny. 

This factor is at the heart of my hope–and belief—that when the sheep-goats nations judgment takes place (Matthew chapter 25), America will stand among the sheep  nations.

But today, a large portion of this nation has fallen for the satanic lie that Israel is, rather than God’s chosen people, the dastardly perpetrator of evil. Some of the American people, particularly many among college students for example, have fallen prey to the lie that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians. Mainstream news and entertainment media are responsible for much of this satanic inculcation.

The resultant eventuation is a wedge being driven between friends, Israel and America, which have been close since the Jewish state’s birth into modernity.

And it has become observable to those spiritually attuned to geopolitics in these turbulent times that the satanic inculcation has led to Christianity being blamed by some with in Israel for Israel’s increasing troubles. A news excerpt reports the following.

Earlier this week, the Israeli Defense Forces stated that one of its soldiers who took a sledgehammer to a statue of Jesus in southern Lebanon, and another who photographed him doing it, would be removed from combat operations and imprisoned for 30 days.

In addition to that incident earlier this week, Israeli police initially blocked Latin Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the top Roman Catholic official in the Holy Land, and other senior clergy from conducting a Palm Sunday service at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre due to wartime restrictions, The Times of Israel reported.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intervened, granting the clergy “full and immediate access” to the site.

The Times of Israel further reported that “a 2024 Annual Report by the Rossing Center for Education and Dialogue documented 111 reported cases of attacks against Christians, including 46 physical attacks, 35 attacks against church properties, and 13 cases of harassment.”

Most perpetrators appeared to belong to the ultra-Orthodox and national-religious communities, and they directed their attacks primarily at Christian clergy members or people wearing visible Christian symbols.

Netanyahu posted Monday on social media in response to the Jesus statue incident, “Yesterday, like the overwhelming majority of Israelis, I was stunned and saddened to learn that an IDF soldier damaged a Catholic religious icon in southern Lebanon. I condemn the act in the strongest terms.” (“Israel Appoints Its First Ever ‘Special Envoy to Christian World’ After Controversial Incidents,” The Gateway Pundit,  by Randy DeSoto, The Western Journal, April 25, 2026)

When the true Christians vanish instantaneously in the Rapture, Israel’s earthly best friends will be gone. Then the most horrific of times for the nation and the Jewish people will take place. 

However, the nation that is the progeny of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, will not be destroyed as its chief nemesis, Satan, desires. As a matter of fact, Israel’s greatest friend and defender will assure the nation’s safe passage through its most troubling time of history.

Time is fleeting, swiftly moving away from us as we live these increments of life on this judgment-bound planet. Time cannot be recalled; it cannot be re-lived. What’s done is done. What time remains is all we have left to do what we will with our lives on earth.

Time, as my great friend Chuck Missler often said, is linear—it is from one point that begins its movement to the concluding other point, the end.

God, Missler offered, created time for humankind. The Almighty is outside the confines of this linear sphere of existence for the creation. What God has assigned–and each life He gives has a purpose He intends for us—it’s up to each of us to accomplish.

This, of course, can be done only by obeying God’s directives. Here’s how God’s Word puts it:

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5–6)

For believers who have an intense interest in Bible prophecy, I believe they’ve been given the assignment of watching, as the Lord Jesus commanded.

Jesus, in a sweeping description of the wrap-up of humanity’s timeline, mentioned the many signs that would be increasingly evident as the finale leading to the Tribulation nears. He then gave clear instructions to believers who would be alive at that time. Despite that many, particularly those of the seminary sort, will argue otherwise, I believe the Lord was alerting us to the future time Paul would later describe in prophesying the Rapture of the Church:

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. (Mark 13:28–37) 

One such believer who takes her Lord’s command seriously is Jan Markell, founder and host of Understanding the Times radio program and Olive Tree Ministries. Her most recent article personifies, I think, obedience to Christ’s command and the scriptural exhortation given in Proverbs 3:5–6.

We should follow her lead in taking advantage of the time that’s left to us on earth. Here is a bit of Jan’s “watching” as Jesus commanded.

I love short lists that folks can peruse and then dig deeper on their own. Today I came up with ten issues that tell me the hour is later than we thought. So, here’s my latest summary. Don’t be discouraged. Look up!

1. Europe is looking for an Antichrist figure.Prophecy News Watch reports a disturbing willingness among citizens to embrace strong, decisive leadership that could bypass democratic processes if it promises stability and results. One in five Europeans say they would prefer a dictatorship in certain circumstances, and a quarter admit they would not mind if a capable leader limited democratic rights and acted without accountability—provided he was effective…
2. Intensifying Lawlessness is everywhere. In Minnesota, not one elected official who participated in the Somali fraud of billions of dollars has been removed from office or arrested. The Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, in part responsible for the mayhem, just made Time Magazine’s top 100 influential people. Thanks for rewarding incompetence!
3. ICE has been demonized repeatedly, particularly in my hometown of Minneapolis. They have been arresting illegal aliens convicted of murder, domestic abuse, sexual assault, and more. In Minnesota alone, nearly 500 illegal aliens have been released back into the communitybecause state and local officials refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement.
4. Canada is poised to criminalize Christianity with a ban on citing biblical truths, reportsThe Federalist. Let that sink in. Crazed zealots in the leftist elite have turned Canadian Christians into scapegoats. They are considered deplorables…

Added to this outrage, Canada is offering to euthanize seniors. Canada’s free healthcare offers the  director of Dying to Meet You to the elderly who may be struggling. Surely love has grown cold (Matt. 24:12)…

5. The ultimate in calling evil good just transpired when the United Nations handed Iran a seat at the Women’s Rights Table. Iran—the regime whose morality police beat a 22-year-old woman named Mahsa Amini to death for a loose headscarf—has just been elevated to a role within a key United Nations body shaping global policy on women’s rights, disarmament, and terrorism prevention. This is last days’ lunacy and strong delusion (II Thess. 2:11), and it abounds everywhere. Jan’s article went on to document five more end-times indicators that, indeed, should alert fellow watchmen to be looking up!

Heaven’s purpose for Jesus’ command to watch is to alert us to the shortness of time left to do our assignments. The souls of men, women, and children hang heavily in the balance. Their only hope–like our only hope—is the Lord Jesus Christ and God’s grace gift of salvation He accomplished on that cross at Calvary.

Christ’s purpose in telling us to watch is also to encourage those of us in God’s family, as we must live as did Lot in that ancient time in Sodom.

The wickedness and evil will end. Jesus will return and put it to an end.

Ours is a future wherein time will no longer be a factor. We will be in that eternal region where there is no evil or wickedness to incessantly come against all that is godly.

Our days are numbered, the Psalmist tells us:

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. (Psalm 90:10–12)

My favorite song, as I sense my own days flying away, has become “Teach Us to Number Our Days” by Marty Goetz. I hope it blesses you as it does me.

Let us watch to work during these precious days we’ve been granted to bring as many souls as possible to Christ so they, too, will move from this time of trouble into that glorious timelessness of God’s eternal realm.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

For years I’ve had Jesus’ prophecy of Luke 17:28–30 at the center of the message I believe our Lord wants delivered at this late hour of the Church Age:

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (Luke 17:28–30)

Well, that message hasn’t changed. It still resonates as the one prophecy I believe is most directly meant for this sin-darkening planet that’s on the cusp of receiving God’s wrath because of humankind’s rebellion against Him.

Jesus said when He next intervenes into the evil affairs of earth’s inhabitants, the “righteous” will be removed. In the “days of Lot” in Jesus’ prophecy, it was Lot and his family who were removed because Lot was considered the only one in Sodom who was righteous. In the case of Christ’s next intervention, He indicated that another righteous entity will be removed to safety. This, of course, will be all who believe in Jesus for salvation–collectively called the Church.

I always preface what I say about that moment of Rapture with Jesus’ statement that, at the time, people of earth will, as in Sodom of Lot’s day, be buying, selling, planting, building, and marrying—in other words, going about business as usual.

Even with all the evil going on now–and it’s probably worse than it was in ancient Sodom and Gomorrah—it is still business as usual, as I view it. Despite the evil–the wars and rumors of war, the deception, the ethnic upheaval all over the planet—there isn’t yet catastrophic disruption of life on earth.

So, in this sense, our time is exactly like Jesus predicted in Luke 17:28–30.

The one thing that has puzzled me to an extent is what Jesus said about the sudden destruction that will, like in Lot’s day, happen immediately upon the removal of the righteous.

As we know, the ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. And the destruction apparently came immediately following Lot’s removal. The cities were decimated; for millennia, scientists and archaeologists thought the Bible’s account of the destruction to be myth. But in most previous decades, there is evidence that indeed these cities were destroyed, and even sulfur residue of the region at the south end of the Dead Sea proves that something devastatingly powerful blasted the area. Pottery shards and other evidence that humans once inhabited the region are still being extracted from beneath the earth’s surface there.

Jesus, again, said: “But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.”

My dilemma in this prophecy is wondering how the Rapture of the Church will be followed by the destruction of all inhabitants, because we know the world will be filled with unbelievers during the seven-year Tribulation (Daniel’s seventieth week). So, this must mean the destruction that will take place will have to be different than that which instantly and completely obliterated those ancient cities.

I’ve sort of resisted the idea that there will be nuclear war, or at least an all-out nuclear World War III, prior to the Rapture of the Church; otherwise, it could not be business as usual leading up to that call of Christ to all believers, living and dead.

Many observers, even some I hold as good teachers in the pre-Trib view, have been saying we are already in the early stages of World War III. That is, the world is now in the throes of everything it takes to begin a worldwide conflict, as in the times preceding World Wars I and II. Dr. Robert Jeffress of First Baptist of Dallas was one I heard say this just the other day.

He said, if I heard him correctly, he believes the Rapture will occur at the time of some other world-shaking event. He believes, he said, it might be a nuclear exchange that introduces World War III, or some such conflagration. This might cause many of the left-behind to miss the full prophetic implications of the disappearance of millions.

In thinking on this, and based upon the build-up toward conflict involving such nuclear powers as Russia, China, North Korea, and, of course the United States, I believe this might be the case. The Church might be snatched (harpazoed) into the clouds of Glory just as nuclear missiles begin raining down around parts of the globe.

This would certainly be ”sudden destruction,” but would not constitute total devastation as in Sodom and Gomorrah.

The devastation would quickly expand across the world, causing unbelievable chaos–eventuating in total destruction by the end of Armageddon when Christ returns. However, I don’t see in any way how this expanding destructiveness could negate attention paid to the disappearance of millions of earth’s inhabitants.

As you know, I believe all children below the age of accountability, even those just conceived, will be instantly absent from earth when Jesus calls the Church. This alone will cause panic and chaos unlike any situation one can truly imagine. Undoubtedly, the news pundits of the planet will somehow attribute this to being a phenomenon, either of unprecedented, unfathomable nuclear exposure, or to, as we’ve talked about before, some action by so-called extraterrestrial space brothers who have been observing human tendencies toward nuclear war since the advent of the atomic bomb.

Paul, following his words about the Rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, prophesied the following that seems to lend credence to such a sudden-destruction scenario.

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:1–3)  

Jesus, Himself, told of this coming moment when sudden destruction would forever change things on the earth:

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. (Luke 21:34–39)

Might as well get directly to the matter that is sticking in my craw, as we sometimes say down south.

It isn’t something I particularly want to address, because it involves an objection I have to someone I greatly admire in that he has brought changes from the previous presidential administration’s governance that are most welcome. These changes have been in ways so much more in line with what the founders, I believe, intended for this nation. It is therefore going against my grain somewhat to have to admonish President Trump.

The reason for the admonishment is especially appropriate, however, because the grievance involves the time of the most holy of observances of the Christian tradition.

The president, in announcing US threats to deal with the terrorist Iranian regime’s evil, conveyed the threat in a vulgar expletive.

Trump kicked off Easter Sunday with a foul-mouthed tirade against Iran and praising Allah—warning the regime to “open the (expletive deleted) ” Strait of Hormuz or else he will ensure the Islamic Republic’s leaders end up in hell.…

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “There will be nothing like it!!! Open the (expletive deleted) Strait, you crazy (expletive deleted), or you’ll be living in Hell.”…

“JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah,” he added in a signed post.

This language, of course, cut straight to the spiritual heart of apropos Christian expression. And it was a mixed message, like few, if any, from a president of the United States I’ve heard in my eight decades of life.

Within only a matter of hours, the above threat was either followed by or preceded by (I can’t remember which was issued first) a message the president issued that perhaps was the most Christ-centered Easter message I’ve ever heard a president speak:

This Easter Sunday, the First Lady and I join with Christians all across our Nation and around the world in rejoicing in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, whose triumph over sin and victory over death secured the promise of redemption and the hope of eternal life for all who believe in Him as Lord and Savior.

Sunday, we proclaim with joy that Christ has risen, a new creation has been ushered in, and evil and death have been conquered forever through the unmatched power of God’s sacrificial love. (Presidential Message on Easter – The White House, April 5, 2026)

What a true and powerful message from the president of the United States! Mr. Trump is as bold in proclaiming the message of Christ as he is in using salacious wording in making threats the vulgar nature of which I might have heard back in the ninth grade.

Wrapped in this president’s verbiage when confronting friends and foes alike is often the element of being human that is most worrisome to me. That is, His communications are often laced with what could be and most often is construed as pride, even arrogance.

Many among the punditry sources from the conservative political side dismiss this as Mr. Trump’s being from New York City, perhaps America’s most profane city in terms of language usage.

Trump’s prideful, tongue-in-cheek expressions are, of course, legendary. And I admit I often find some of them quite amusing. I cannot, however, dismiss with this personality excuse Trump’s use of ungodly language. This, whether the language comes from the president of the United States, some other celebrity, or from myself or my family or friends in a moment of anger or just in general conversation is ungodly and must be condemned.

Here is what God’s Word says about the Lord’s opinion of pride and a foul mouth.

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. (Proverbs 8:13)

Here is what God further tells us through the Apostle James about the language we use.

Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. (James 3: 3-12)

President Donald J. Trump often uses prideful and coarse language in speaking about America’s great military power. I’ve heard some talk show hosts who are conservative and supporters of the Trump administration excuse this prideful extolling of the US greatness as just Trump being Trump. That is, they say Mr. Trump is just using such language in speaking to the tyrants of the world–such as the terrorist regimes of the Middle East. It is the only language a bully understands, they say. And, they say, America’s power is to be used to control the bullies of the geopolitical world.

Let me say at this point that I totally support our president in most everything he has done to try to do away with the so-called “woke” evil that previous administrations imposed on our nation. I agree with him in dealing as he continues to deal with the likes of the Iranian regime–an evil, fanatic horde that would use nuclear weapons on both America and Israel if they ever possess such horrific weaponry.

But, I can’t believe for a moment that the God of Heaven, who has so blessed America, and who I believe has saved Mr. Trump’s life to see to it that he is presently in the most powerful office on the planet, would ever be tolerant of the pride-filled, profanity-laced language this president, or any of the rest of us might use.

Another president comes to mind, from a history class in college somewhere in my past. George Washington, when general of the Revolutionary Army, was recorded as being upset at the cursing going on in the ranks of his army during the Revolutionary War for Independence.

Washington was said to ask in issuing an order to stop such vulgar talk: how could his forces ever expect the blessings of God by granting victory, considering the use of foul language being used in the ranks that included taking the Almighty’s name in vain.

God changes not. I wish that neither would our presidents’ view of morality expressed by that great leader who issued his order to desist use of such language.

There is coming another leader who will have comportment the opposite of that of Washington. Here is God’s Word on that soon-to-come dictator of much of the world.

And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. (Daniel 11: 36)

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. (Revelation 13: 5-6)

You and I want to be among those in Heaven whom Antichrist will curse as given in this prophecy. We want to be part of the Rapture of the Church who will be with Jesus at the time this greatest of all tyrants has the reins of power on this judgment-bound world.

Here yet again is how to accept Christ and be part of that stupendous event that will take all believers into the clouds of Glory.

That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)

Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Having just celebrated Easter, the thought that hatred for Jesus Christ is what put Him on the cross at Calvary is foremost in my mind.

Of course, it was the sin of humanity that brought Jesus to that grotesque implement of torture as the lamb slain from the foundation of the world. God sent His Only Son into this fallen world to die for sinful humankind so that redemption is now possible for all who are lost (separated from God the Father).

But the steps of achieving Christ’s purpose in this regard at the time of the crucifixion was steeped in satanic hatred for Jesus. The Judaizers of that moment sought to get rid of this man who was claimed to be the very Messiah for whom Israel had been longing. He was, they feared, usurping their great power over the people of Israel. They hated Him and colluded even with the hated Roman government to put Jesus to death.

Thankfully, the hatred was and continues to be totally under the control of Heaven. Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection accomplished the salvation of all who will accept God’s grace-gift sacrifice for redemption from sin and separation from God.

Hatred for Jesus Christ in the year 2026 is still on the scene. That hatred is on the rise, as a matter of fact. The condition of anti-God, anti-Christian activity is in every direction while this fallen planet staggers toward God’s judgment and wrath.

This hatred shouldn’t surprise or confuse those who are directed by God the Holy Spirit to be alert to the nearness of Christ’s return to make all things right, as they were before the Fall in Eden.

Jesus, Himself, told His immediate disciples and apostles precisely how things would be during the Age of Grace that would follow His finishing of the redemption process on that old, rugged cross.

Here is what He told them–and us, believers who would be born again through the years:

These things I command you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. (John 15:17–21)

The nations of the world are increasingly declaring their hatred for Jesus Christ—not necessarily in that stark term of expression, but in ways that can’t be missed. One news item that displays the hatred is shown in the following:

The Canadian Liberal government has just rammed through a bill that effectively declares war on the Bible and anyone bold enough to quote it in public.

Canada’s House of Commons passed Bill C-9, the so-called “Combating Hate Act,” in a 186-137 vote Wednesday night.

Liberals and the Bloc voted in lockstep to strip away long-standing protections for religious speech under the Criminal Code. Conservatives, the NDP, and the Greens opposed it. The bill now heads to the Senate.

In comments sent to LifeSiteNews, Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) blasted the passage of Bill C-9 and called upon “Christians and pro-life advocates to prepare for increasing hostility.”

“With the passage of Bill C-9 in the House, Christians and pro-life advocates will almost certainly face an entirely new level of hostility, as the door swings open to actual persecution under a cloak of supposed legality,” said CLC’s Campaigns Manager David Cooke, who is also a Christian pastor.

Not to be outdone by the Jesus haters in Canada, here in America, a nation founded within Judeo-Christian precepts, the following proves such hatred is present and on the rise:

The Chicago Bulls have waived guard Jaden Ivey following videos he posted where his rant about religion and other topics led to him calling out the NBA for celebrating Pride Month.

The Bulls announced the move on Monday, saying it was due to conduct detrimental to the team.

Ivey’s video calling out the league was posted on Monday morning, as he said it was “unrighteousness” that the NBA would celebrate Pride Month.

Ivey has been posting similar videos with rants in recent weeks, while the 24-year-old has noted in the past he deals with depression.

“The world can proclaim LGBTQ, right?” Ivey said in his latest video. “They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA. They proclaim it. They show it to the world. They say, ‘Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.’ They proclaim it. They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim in the streets. Unrighteousness. So, how is it that one can’t speak righteousness? Listening to a report on Fox News announcing the removal of Jaden Ivey from the Chicago Bulls, I heard the player give his testimony of how Jesus Christ had completely changed his life and had made him see the wickedness that is against God’s Word. The LGBTQ, etc., matter was just one of the evils he pointed out on that program.

For his stance in lifting the name of Jesus Christ, he has been called “crazy,” a “religious nut,” and other invectives.

Fox, as seen in the excerpts above, called Jaden Ivey’s Christian values as expressed “rants,” thus showing the news source’s bias—edging toward hatred, in my view—of all things held as righteous in God’s holy eyes.

This hatred for Jesus is swiftly moving the world of lost people down that broad way to forever separation from God, who loves them and has moved Heaven and Hell—has sent His Only Son—to bring them into His eternal family.

The hatred for Jesus that’s growing worldwide shows precisely, I think, where this generation of humankind is on God’s prophetic timeline.

The call to His family to meet Jesus in the clouds of Glory is on the very cusp of taking place. You will want to be part of that rescue from out of this judgment-bound planet. Here is how to accept Jesus at this very moment.

That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10: 9-10)

End-of-Days Scenarios: Part 12

This ends the series first posted in 2007.

Gog, the prophesied leader of the Israel-hating coalition north of Jerusalem, has hooks in his jaws—put there by none other than the Lord God of all creation. Our scenario has that hook lubricated generously with the black liquid gold of the Middle East.

The dictator who rules Russia has watched, with Lucifer-inspired obsession, the whole international rearrangements following the disappearance of millions. He receives an “evil thought,” and thinks to take “great spoil”—the vast oil supplies of the regions surrounding Israel.

It is the Tribulation era, Daniel’s seventieth week: the last seven years of human history that will culminate in Christ’s Second Advent. Humans have always claimed, in their humanistic pride, that they can make this world into paradise. This has been true since before the time of Nimrod and Babel (Genesis chapter 11).

The leader of the newly formed super-agglomeration of Western powers has brokered the peace the “prince” promises will make things heaven on earth for the world. Israel has bitten into the apple from the great leader’s garden of promises. God Almighty takes His hand off the earth to the extent that He will now allow humankind to see if they can achieve their utopia. The Holy Spirit has withdrawn from acting as restrainer upon the consciences of human beings.

Gog knows the leadership of the Western nations is consolidating its power. Once that’s done, the forces of the reviving Roman Empire will be formidable–perhaps even impossible to defeat. They have the most awesome thermonuclear arsenal ever stockpiled. But Russia, China, and even some of Gog’s other allies have such weapons, too. Enough to destroy the world, as a matter of fact. The Western behemoth that’s gathering strength is quite unlikely–in Gog’s self-inflated estimation—to use military power to try to stop his invasion at this point. Their weak note of diplomatic protest proves it in the Russian’s mind.

Gog is inspired by one other profound realization. The West’s true power has always been in its great technological capabilities–its fantastic, wealth-producing machinery that’s far more advanced than anything the humanity-oppressive regimes of the East have been able to match. The only true thing achieved by the Eastern world has been, for the most part, mere replication of things produced by the freedom-loving people of the West.

The Russian, in consort with his cohorts of the coalition he has gathered, knows that to take away the Western powers’ ability to run their machinery–thus their technological production—is to cripple them. He will claim all the oil of the Middle East. The West–having long fallen prey to those who preached the ecological mumbo-jumbo, the political correctness that said they were raping “Mother Earth” by drilling and refining petroleum—will be without resources to fuel their drive to dominate the world.

The leader who brokered the peace remains peaceful. He has sent his diplomatic protest. But he believes in Bible prophecy. His knowledge comes from the father of lies, who convinces him that all of prophecy is true, except the part that says he–the prince that shall come—will ultimately lose to the returning King of all kings (Revelation 19:20).

The Western leader watches the Gog-Magog forces gather. He is troubled but bides his time.

While the beast of Revelation 13 watches, the beast of the East–Gog—doesn’t keep his nemesis waiting long. The assault is quick, all-out, and—seen from satellite reconnaissance—looks like a massive storm moving southward toward Jerusalem. Israel sits vulnerable, without defense. The leader squints from Brussels at the many monitors while waiting to see if the things his special minion-mentors are telling him will play out on schedule.

He is not disappointed. Here is how Ezekiel, under God’s direction, reported this battle thousands of years ago:

Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD (Ezekiel 39:1–5).

Many, particularly the Jews within Israel, will believe God has won the victory. And, indeed, there is no evidence to the contrary. God did it all.

Even the great peacemaker from his proud perch has to say to himself that the Deity has done this marvelous thing. But so far as he is concerned, it only means advantage to his ambition. All resistance has been crushed for him, paving his way to fill the power vacuum. All of the oil riches are his.

Now he will truly be able to build his one-world kingdom. To him belongs the great spoil Gog foolishly thought would be his.

He rides into the region as a conqueror. He has–in his increasingly demon-possessed mind—correctly understood the “dark sentences” given him by his minion-mentors from the father of lies. Jerusalem, the very capital of Jehovah on earth—is his for the taking. He, himself, will be the god of this planet:

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)

Antichrist has revealed himself. He demands worship. The greatest holocaust of history will begin. It is the time of Jacob’s Trouble:

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. (Jeremiah 30:7)

Jesus said of this time:

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. (Matthew 24:21)

So, we come to the last of this series. But, of course, the story is far from over. The beautiful part of this scenario–and it is God’s scenario that really matters—is found in these last few words of the great old prophet Jeremiah: “but he shall be saved out of it.” All of Israel–the believing remnant—will be saved out of this horrible holocaust. (Read Revelation, chapter 12.)
