Boy has yours truly been off in his assessment of America with regard to God’s power to control events!
At present, it seems it’s over for the nation in terms of ever returning to any semblance of that envisioned by its founding fathers. Those who are believers in Jesus Christ as mankind’s only hope are filled with worry and dark expectations for the future. This state of many Christians is somewhat of an oxymoron, or would that be a paradox, or even, possibly, a dichotomy?
At any rate, it smacks of being a contradiction in terms. We look to the Creator of all that is as our blessed hope (Titus 2:13) and yet we look at our future as full of extreme gloom. As the Apostle Peter might say, “My brethren, such things ought not be…”
I was reflecting back in the nation’s recent history and came across just how naïve I’ve been about the Lord’s ability to shape, move, and restrain evil in America and the world.
I’ll try to demonstrate. The following is a lengthy excerpt from an article or chapter I believe I wrote around the time of my book The American Apocalypse, which Harvest House published back in 2009.
Change that was promised as part of the American presidential campaign leading to the 2008 election of Barack Hussein Obama is rapidly taking on form and substance. Its monstrous reality no longer lurks about in the shadows of diplomatic obfuscation designed to misdirect and divert. I am convinced we are witnessing the emergence of the end-times entity Daniel and John foresaw under divine revelation.
Acceleration of developments in every area of US global interaction brings focus and magnification to the fact that America is being deliberately and masterfully diminished—brought into configuration for purposes of producing governing authority of immensely ominous scope and power.
Prophecy students have for decades puzzled over the fact that smaller nation-states, like Libya, Syria, even Egypt, are mentioned as having prophetic prominence in the Bible. Yet, the greatest super power ever to exist on Planet Earth doesn’t rate even a slight mention, except obliquely, perhaps, in Ezekiel 38: 13, as one of the “young lions.” What happens to the great United States of America that relegates it to a non-player as prophecy comes to culmination?
The church today, and there is but one people within that designation—all truly born-again believers in Jesus Christ—is, for the most part, deliriously happy within its almost total ignorance of biblically prophesied things to come. The majority don’t know about what is prophetically scheduled to happen to their world. They don’t want to know, and are protected in their ignorance by pastors and teachers who harbor the same attitude.
Those within the church who do know and care are, mostly trepidatious about the prospects for America and the world. The trepidation ranges the spectrum from: the US will suffer total economic melt-down and degeneration into chaos and anarchy that will bring about dictatorship and incarceration in FEMA camps, to America will become so weakened that she will be nuked out of existence by the likes of Russia, China, and even maybe a soon-to-be nuclear Iran.
If I may be so audacious, I will propose the third possibility I believe I see clearly now as the terminus for this once great republic. To be honest, I have suspected this will be the scenario for America all along, and have written of my suspicion in a number of essays.
I believe the change promised by the current presidential administration, as part of that being orchestrated over the past several decades, is at this very moment bringing the US into the foretold union to be ruled by history’s most lawless tyrant. The disregard by this president for the US Constitution, in itself a totally lawless modus operandi, in conjunction with a Congress that hasn’t the fortitude to oppose this iniquitous action, is, itself, proof we are in the time of America’s demise and Antichrist’s ascent.
No. I am not saying Barack Obama is the prophesied first beast of Revelation chapter 13. This president is, however, in concert with several administrations previous, and with the help of the many globalist movers and shakers over the past decades and even centuries, complicit in forcing this apex nation into the globalist mold.
The force behind the globalist agenda has been incessantly at work to impress upon the American populace—and the world at large—that the United States is an unjust, even a criminally oppressive state.
Did you get all that? The vast majority of those who were Christians gave developments in the presidential election of 2008 little thought. Those of us who watched what was going on in prophetic stage-setting were thinking America was finished as it was founded.
It is about the same at this very moment. Most are going about their daily, minute-by-minute lives with little or no regard that America is dissolving before their apparently uncaring gazes. Those of us who still do watch for Him, our blessed hope, are even more convinced with these turn of events that America’s days are likely over as founded.
Both attitudes miss the mark as they stand at opposite ends of the matter. Those who don’t seem to be concerned are being mesmerized by the grand delusion that everything is unchanged and will eventually settle in to the old normality. Those who worry that this time—this time—it’s over for our nation are forgetting just who our God is. That is, we are forgetting the awesome power He wields.
The 2016 presidential election, we thought, was lost. Now the global order would swallow the last vestiges of liberty we enjoyed under the Constitution. That much-feared candidate would soon have us in FEMA camps…or worse.
Then the Lord’s mighty right hand clamped down upon the wildly spinning out of control situation. A Make America Great Again reality show celebrity was thrust into the mix and did the impossible. He won!
The next four years were spent in reversing the globalist course, while the proponents of such went absolutely berserk with rage that their plans had been halted. God, in Heaven, had not the least bit of strain in clamping down. He will have no trouble doing so now—when and howsoever He chooses.
I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:5-6)

This shows how accurate your discernment of Bible Prophecy is about the future Brother James. Very amazing. I knew Obama was a turn for the worse but not in the detail you laid out. The Lord has blessed you with so much discernment.
Gee, Terry, seems like you hit the mark when you made those statements about Obama becoming president. The only difference is that the election of Donald Trump temporarily interrupted America’s descent. Now I believe that course is re-established and will proceed with a vengeance. Our underlying moral corruption never did disappear in the last four years, it was only suppressed. Not any more. For example, Biden just gave the okay for rainbow flags to be raised at our embassies, if the reports I’ve seen are correct. Biden has already appointed deviants to his administration and is already pushing the agenda of what the Bible clearly describes as “abominations” upon the rest of us. Unlike Obama’s tenure, the government also did not have the excuse of Covid 19 to scare the population into giving up its freedom with little resistance.
We are now rapidly becoming exactly what the globalist’s said of us before
“that the United States is an unjust, even a criminally oppressive state.”
We’re not yet there, but I have a sinking feeling that anyone who opposes the anti-God far-leftist forces that are now running the show in America will soon find this to be brutally true.
It’s time to set our sights on that “heavenly country” where our forever home is being made ready by Jesus, rather than on this dying country on a dying world.

Thanks once more for the kind words, Glenn! I’m pretty sure the America we once knew is done. I remember what a mess the 1960’s were, and, yes, they were certainly very turbulent, but it was nothing like this. The thing is, it looks like most, if not all, the democracies today are in the same kind of big trouble with their respective governments taking away the freedoms of their citizens.
Fortunately for us, thanks to Jesus, we will not be here for the worst of what’s coming!
As I watch the ongoing action in the USA from afar, I am a ”missionary” on an Island not far from Israel I am saddened at the state of the USa but not too surprised.
Thge USA may have had a greater responsibilty to God because of her foundations under God and her great wealth and considerable freedom due to her Constitution. However she, like the former ”Great Britain” has led the world in Godlessness. Both countries had great foundational impact around the world and terrific opportunity to do good, yet both have gradually led the world into much corruptioin and have turned their backs on God.
They along with many other countries have been deeply corrupted and have removed God from all of our seats of learning and Governmental institutions.
As we know that when we remove God there is no basis for our morality or conscience and the last 100 years has seen the Western world sink into an ever deepening cesspit.
As that happened the world has invaded the Church and now so many of them are following gods of their own imagination.
As the Bible tells us man’s imagination leads to evil continuously.
We now find ourselves in the most degenerate global society since Noah and Sodom and Gamorrah. Like Adam and Eve most have swallowed the lie and have left the stage wide open for the fulfilling of theLlast Day events.
There is a remnant left, Just as our Lord has predicted. Many true believers continue to be martyred in many countries and for the Westrn World even morecontrol hascome, the spectre of the one world government is in view.
The Elite et al, directed by their evil master think that they are on the home straight to implement their master plan[s]. With the current Wuhan manufactured crisis they seem to be on target to control, manipulate and dominate the wolrd The so called vaccination with its Gene modifying abilities is but a short step away from The Mark. But God!
Our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth has revealed throghout scripture how these last days wil be and everrything is falling into place. Therefore we who are alive and believe in Jesus Christ need to have our eyes fixed upon Him for our HOPE is IN Him. Nations are under judgement and we must present the truth about God to the worls so that by His power we may lead many to Him before it is too late.
Thus the state of the world is no surprise to His people yet we are sadenned by it – for it does not need to be that so many would perish. We are to be about our Master’s work and see many come to faith in Him before He calls us up to be with Him.
Great analysis of the current world situation, Ian. I think you hit the nail on the head – nothing works when God is taken out of the picture.
Except, and it has to be said, according to Dr David Reagan and I am in agreement with him on this, America is experiencing the gradual removal of God’s hand protecting her as she continues, in effect, to stick two fingers up at God. Trump, as we all know, was a four year respite, a chance for her to repent, but she would not. So with regard to Obama he was the forerunner for Biden, which is completely ironic and now, this juggernaut has gotten up a head of steam and it is now only going one way – to the Tribulation and God’s ultimate judgment on the whole world. If you look at the UK which began this downward spiral a few years prior to the US you can see it happening there also but God is working slightly differently there, however, it is still under judgment. If the Lord’s children have not yet woken up then I fear it really is too late for them as we see Romans 1:18-32 coming strongly into play.
PS I have just finished Lawless, apart from the chapter on finances which went right over my head, it was a superb read and I really appreciate the way you were able to get the authors to produce such mind-blowing work.
The majority of humanity has told God to get out of town and he respected our choice.

Nowhere have I seen Jesus make any reference to President Trump and, as He is our only Prophet as, now we have the Bible, we have no need of any other, what you are writing is, basically, hogwash. Jesus, and others, warned us about how we could be deceived in these last days, and it looks as though that is exactly what has happened to you, though whether by others or yourself is hard to tell. God did not tell ;anybody to prophesy to the nations these days because we have all the information we need to know what is to come. As Jesus told us, He has told us what is to come in order that when it comes, we will recognise He has already told us about it. Those people that you claim have ‘prophesied’ whatever about DJT are false prophets. May I recommend you become immersed so much in the Word of God that you will never be deceived again because you will know in your heart and in your mind what exactly God has said, because if you have submited your all to the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth then the Holy Spirit dwells within you and He will lead you into all truth as that is part of His remit.
Actually the more I read of what you have written the deeper I am convinced that your ‘belief’ system is seriously wonky! You might well believe that “saints will go through tribulation” but they are those who turn to Jesus during the Tribulation, the rest of us ‘saints’ will already be with Him in His Father’s house, in heaven, actually, not the New Jerusalem, which will not be in the US and will not come down to earth until after Jesus
thousand year reign. After all we will need these ‘saints’ as we will have glorified bodies so will no longer be able to procreate and the surviving Tribulation saints will be the ones to re-populate the earth! Or had you not thought of who it is who is going to re-populate the earth?
Oh dear, oh dear, I am sorry but the more I read of what you have written the more I am laughing – the New Jerusalem is going to be in America – and tell me, which translation of God’s Word did you get that from? God’s focus, geographically has always been the Holy Land of Israel and, in particular, Jerusalem, for example did you not know that God has sealed Jerusalem with His Name? Oh my I do not know who is teaching you but, sweetheart, you have been so deceived it is tragic. I do ask you to forgive me for laughing because, actually, what you have written is no laughing matter but is complete lies from start to finish, except that the majority who read Terry know the ‘msm’ is feeding us a narrative which bears absolutely no relationship to the truth – rather like what you have written.

I have a sense that God is not going to allow this evil regime to continue for 4 years. He will not be mocked and mockery is what I see being blatantly executed, with swiftness. I’m praying for a miracle, for God to reveal his might and power as he did in the Fall of 2016. I’m seeking to “have no fear of bad news but rather to steadfastly hope in the Lord,”….His love and mercy.

Thanks for sharing your insights with us. Yes, it is God who determines the boundaries of nations and who will rule over them and for how long (Acs 17:26; Proverbs 21:1). God often allows the basest of men to rule over others (Daniel 4:17, 25). Some believe that our constitutional republic has ended, and that we will soon be living under socialism/communism and/or a malevolent dictatorship. We seem to be nearing the end of the “Dispensation of Grace” in which we now live. (I have a FREE Dispensations Chart and Bible Study book marker for anyone who might be interested in one.) When all whom the Father has given to the Son have come to Him and been saved (John 6:37), and are a part of the spiritual “Body of Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:12, 13), and have done some praise worthy works (1 Corinthians 4:5; 3:11-15), the Lord will return as He promised (John 14:1-3) and make the true Church His Bride (Ephesians 5:32; Revelation 21:9; 22:17). For one to become a part of this group today, he/she must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ alone, Who died for our sins…and rose again bodily from the dead on the third day (Acts 16:31; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4).
