Genesis 6 Sickness

In thinking on this commentary, it occurred to me that Genesis chapter 6 came into view when Khaled Mashal, former leader and a founding member of Hamas, called for war not just against Israel but against the entire world. He demanded that all of the Muslim nations surrounding the Jewish state come together and begin attacking in all-out jihad.

But he said it wouldn’t stop there. The entirety of Islam must take over the world, using all the violence, death and mayhem that could be mustered. The holy prophet Muhammad had long ago ordered such an action to fulfill Allah’s wishes, Mashal says. Those wishes included world conquest so peace and joy could then reign on earth.

This brought into view thoughts that I believe are most relevant at this moment regarding God’s prophetic timeline. Here are Jesus’ words predicting how things will be when He next intervenes into the affairs of wicked, rebellious humankind:

And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:26)

So what was going on that caused the Lord to completely destroy all flesh on earth except for Noah and his family? Genesis provides the answer:

And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. (Genesis 6:13)

Can we doubt with any degree of certainty that, over the past years, we’ve witnessed developments hinting strongly that the world is becoming like it was in those antediluvian times? Can we doubt that we’re seeing corruption that seemingly rivals that of the days of Noah? Just within the past two weeks or so, we’ve seen growing violence, as understood from the words of Mashal, who wants all-out jihad not just against Israel, but against all people who resist Mohammad’s call to Islamic world domination.

A former Muslim terrorist who is now a Christian was the first to expose the contents of Mashal’s demand for increased jihad. Brother Rachid, as he is called, gave the following as some of the Hamas founder’s desires.

1.      To show anger, especially next Friday [October 13, 2023] in Muslim countries and also among Muslim Diaspora around the world; he called it “the Friday of Al-Aqsa flood”, he said this will send a message of rage to Zionists and to America.
2.      He asked for financial help from all Muslims around the world; to help with their money, he called it “Financial Jihad”. He asked Muslims to give to the fighters of Gaza in order to compensate them for the destruction.
3.      He asked political pressure, from Muslim leaders and Muslim nations, to stop Israel’s military invasion of Gaza.
4.      The most important thing: He asked all Muslims around the world to carry Jihad by their souls; to fight and be martyrs for Al-Aqsa. He wants Muslims to fight against the Jews, starting with Muslims who live in the countries surrounding Israel: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt (but also other countries), to go to the borders and try to enter, each by his own means. He said: This is the time for Jihad to be applied on the ground rather than just in theory. He asked the Mujahedeen to go in long caravans to spell their blood on the land of Palestine. (“Hamas Leader Calls For Global Muslim Uprising In ‘Day Of Rage’ On Friday, Report Says,” Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge, October 11, 2023)

The Genesis 6 sickness spreading by the likes of Mashal and other wicked minions are front and center at this advanced moment on God’s prophetic timeline:

Scenes of indescribable horror in which infants and babies were slaughtered — with some beheaded — in the kibbutz of Kfar Aza in southern Israel by Hamas terrorists were reported by international media on Tuesday morning.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) took dozens of foreign reporters to witness the site of the massacre on Tuesday. Charred homes stood in the background as smoke wafted in the air and the bodies of dead civilians and terrorists still littered the ground.

The journalists, under the protection of dozens of Israeli soldiers, toured the site with cameras rolling.
“It’s not a war,” Gen. Itai Veruv, head of the IDF’s Depth Command, told reporters. “It’s not a battlefield. You see the babies, the mothers, the fathers in their bedrooms, in their protection rooms, and how the terrorists kill them … It’s a massacre.”

The scene recalled some of the darkest chapters in Jewish history. Israeli officials have called Hamas’ surprise invasion of Israel over the weekend — in which Kfar Aza was one of the hardest hit areas — one of the largest massacres of Jews since the Holocaust. (“ ‘It’s a Massacre’: Babies Reportedly Slaughtered by Hamas Terrorists in Kibbutz Avatar,” by Algemeiner staff)

The Genesis 6 sickness has infected not just those who would wage atrocities against the Jews. The evil has spread to every culture on earth—including our own here in America. (Consider, for example, the many millions of babies in their mothers’ wombs who have been murdered through abortion, their bodies torn apart in the process.)

I believe Jesus’ “days of Lot” prophecy (Luke 17:28) spoke to the way things are in America today just before the Rapture. It is the Lord’s prophecy of coming destruction on a specific locale, like Sodom and Gomorrah in those ancient times. Thus, while His “days of Noah” (Luke 17:26) prophecy was about the way things are quickly developing worldwide—as witnessed by Mashal’s call for global jihad. Violence indeed is filling the whole earth!

Dr. David Jeremiah addressed to some extent this matter recently:

A rainbow. Animals marching two-by-two. A famous boat ride.

This is the happy picture so many of us have from childhood of the biblical story of Noah. But the message behind the story is much more serious—a depiction of God’s judgment raining down on a sinful world…with a critically important prophetic connection!

Jesus warns His followers, including you and me today:

So…are we living in those “days of Noah?”

The short answer is yes—our world today is just like Noah’s before the flood.
Jesus warns His followers, including you and me today:

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”—Matthew 24:37-39

Just like the ark that Noah was building could have been seen for miles, the warning signs for this generation are all around us. The clouds are gathering. Distant thunder is rumbling. And the door to salvation stands open. For now.

But despite warnings, people do not expect judgment. Noah’s neighbors did not expect a flood—and neither do yours.

Deep down, most people—if they give any thought to eternity at all—tend to think they will have a chance at the last minute to say or do the right thing to secure their place in God’s kingdom.
But the Rapture doesn’t work that way. It will be instant and irreversible.

And on that day, when God shuts the door as securely as He shut the door on the ark, no amount of knocking, pounding, or pleading will open it.

This is why you and I must be ready.

And why we must do everything possible to give our families, our friends, and our world every opportunity to enter in now—before it’s eternally too late! (Dr. David Jeremiah, Turning Point, October 12, 2023)

(I highly recommend Dr. Jeremiah’s new book on the Rapture: The Great Disappearance. You can find it at Davidjeremiah.org.)

Here is how to be ready before that ark door closes—the only way to be Rapture ready:

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)

Having meditated on scripture and the truth that when the Ark doors were closed and sealed by Almighty God, I fear that few in the USA will have that “after the Rapture” opportunity to come to Christ. The Bible tells us there will be a multitude of Tribulation Saints, but if any nation deserves total destruction, it is the United States.

Our current political class is in open rebellion against God. We have widespread, legalized murder of babies (in and out of the womb), the promotion of the LGBQT+ agenda (if you look at who makes up Biden’s Administration it looks like they are only hiring mentally deranged freaks and enemy combatants), our false support of Israel while funding her enemies and ours, and the list goes on. I believe in my heart that this last rebellion will be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back against our nation.

When any nation betrays Israel, they can expect destruction. Yes, many of our citizens support her, but our government does not; no matter what they say publicly or what you see in the media. Our usefulness is nearing its end. God WILL destroy us for our wickedness and betrayal, just as He did the Babylonians and the Assyrians. He has warned us, given us examples of His past judgments, and tolerated an astonishing level of evil wrought by us.

I praise Him for His gracious patience and love, and for giving us the opportunity to live in what was formerly the greatest nation in history. The fact that we have so many millions of true Believers here is, I believe, all that has stayed His hand of judgment against us. We know that Abraham negotiated for Sodom and his nephew Lot, and God agreed to withhold His wrath if only 10 righteous men could be found. But there were not 10 righteous men in the land. We certainly exceed that number, thanks solely to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Armies. This is why we can be certain the Rapture precedes our destruction, and that it must be coming soon.

All the signs are here and converging for the start of the 7-Year Tribulation. The acceleration of prophetic events is dizzying. The birth pains are coming very close together, and soon our deliverance will occur. We are going home.

I am no longer an American. I am a citizen of Heaven, and Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is my sovereign.

    Maranatha!

Very well said – I agree 💯percent. I believe the Rapture will destroy the United States. The restraining power of the Holy Spirit in the Church is the one thing keeping it all together here in this country. Once we are removed I believe this country will be in utter chaos. Thank you Jesus that we won’t be here to see all that will happen. I am looking up everyday because I know that Jesus is Coming very soon. COME KING JESUS COME🙏🏻🙏🏻

      • robinlinaz's avatar robinlinaz says:

Thanks Pamela, yes, an immeasurable blessing to have our blessed hope. And I’m so grateful to have this community of Believers who know what is underway, know our Bibles, and are longing for the Lord’s return.

I belong to a Bible-based church, wer have expository preaching every Sunday, and still my truly faithful pastor will not talk about what is going on in the world. Instead we heard a detailed, expository message on the role of deacons in the church this morning.

        Frustrating.

    • Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

      You are right, Robin.

When perversion, rampant lawlessness, people being lovers of themselves and pleasure more than lovers of God, increasing ethnic conflicts, natural disasters, promotion of deception and the willingness of most of the population not only to accept, but actually desire it, become “business as usual,” then truly these times have become exactly like those of Noah and Lot.

Toss in the genetic manipulation of living things, no doubt including people by now, and you have the technological equivalent of the contamination of the human genome by the interbreeding of fallen angels with human females to produce the Nephilim which shortly preceded the Flood.

In ancient times, God blessed Israel whenever it followed God’s rules. God once blessed America when it did the same. When each nation turned away, it was ultimately dealt with appropriately. The only difference is that Israel will one day accept Jesus as the Messiah and enter the Millennium to become the premier nation of the world. The United States has no such guarantee and will disappear forever into history’s long list of lost civilizations.

Jesus said, “To those to whom much was given, much will be required!” (Luke 12:48)

      • robinlinaz's avatar robinlinaz says:

We agree again Ed. Like every blessed nation before us, we have squandered God’s bounty and blessings. To the point that sadly, we are no different than the Roman, Jewish, Greek, Medo-Persian, Babylonian and Egyptian societies before us. Solomon was right, there is nothing new under the sun. Man is broken and sin is sin.

It causes me to marvel that God, knowing exactly how all of this would play out, has allowed mankind to continue. My patience would have run out after enduring 500 years of sin, max! (God is likely laughing at this comment, knowing me as He does. He’s surely thinking, Robin, you couldn’t have made it to the 20 year mark.) I’m totally sick of sin; mine, theirs, ours, past sins, present sins, future sins…all of it!

The promise of our Lord ending sin is more than enough reason to long to be in glory. It is more than enough reason for Him to bring forth His perfect and righteous judgment.

I am deeply grateful that He has made it so obvious and easy for me to let go of this world. When I tell friends and family that if I die, to please not grieve for me, but to celebrate. Most think I’m a bit looney or that I can’t be serious. But I’m VERY serious; when a Believer I know dies, I can not feel sorrow at their passing. I am happy for them and frankly, a bit envious.

All in His perfectly appointed time.

    • Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

There is nothing unbiblical about feeling sorrow about the passing of a believer, after all, Jesus wept at Lazarus’ grave even though he knew that he would restore him to life right away, but, I, too, find myself somewhat envious for those who are gone as well.

To be totally honest, after having a cardiac arrest back in June and being dead for ten minutes, I often wonder why I’m still here. Most of those people who had initially appeared to be concerned about me and had stayed in touch after my “dropping out” of the world have since faded into the woodwork. Funny thing is that it doesn’t bother me all that much. It is what it is and a lifetime of experience has shown me not to expect overly much from people, anyway.

Now I say these things without any regret and I want to make it VERY clear that I am not in any way depressed about that. I still enjoy quite a few things in my life down here and there have been a few people who haven’t bailed out on me, but, most of all, I know Jesus has his reasons for me still being around and I certainly am NOT about to second-guess him! But I do admit that watching our world spiral into the pit is tough to watch. I just re-read Jeremiah and can identify with his frustration. As far as Earth is concerned the hurricane is on its way and very few want to hear the storm warnings!

Maybe I still have more to learn, more flaws to correct, although my salvation has already been assured despite them.

Maybe it is even so I can experience the Rapture as someone still alive when it happens!

      Now wouldn’t THAT be something!!

      God bless!

      • robinlinaz's avatar robinlinaz says:

I think the same way. God has us here for His purposes so I must not grumble. Maybe we are supposed to plant a seed or help bring someone to the Lord before our departure. I’m convinced there are many souls being saved every day and those people will be our brothers and sisters in Heaven so it’s worth the wait. Plus, we are called to encourage one another before He calls us to Himself.

As for mourning, there are people, like my mom who is still with us at 86. She is a Believer, and if she dies before the Rapture, I will cry buckets of tears, for myself and our loved ones at not having her with us. But I can’t cry for her delivery into glory.

Jeremiah is one of my favorite prophets, along with Isaiah and Daniel. (Goodness I’m looking forward to meeting all these saints in Heaven!) The first time I read his book I grieved along with him; this was 5 years ago so I didn’t know I’d be seeing similar situations very soon. To be commanded by God to stop praying for his people was both astonishing and sobering. We are likely close to that point again.

    • Ed Wood's avatar Ed Wood says:

I have often wondered if something we’ve said or done might have caused another person to turn to God and accept Jesus. We may never know until we get to heaven. Wouldn’t it be an amazing experience to have someone walk up to us and say, “I’m here because what you said led me to believe!” If even one person did that, it would show that our lives did make a difference even if it is not apparent now.

My mother was 92 when she died last year. She had a tough life, had health issues, married two guys that never treated her right and had a protracted and painful death. I find that the injustice of this still rankles even though I know she is finally home with Jesus and those she loved in the past. I am very thankful that, despite my heart issues, I was around and physically capable of watching out for her in her last, difficult years.

As far as your Mom, the way things are going it is not beyond the realm of possibility that you will BOTH get to rise together in the Rapture!

Looking forward to seeing the two of you there!

Today we began the book of Habakkuk. As he poured out his heart to God and asked why He hasn’t answered his prayer to stop the violence, God answered in a way Habakkuk didn’t expect: it was going to get worse. God was going to use the Chaldeans to chastise Judah in order to draw them closer to Him. As evil as Hamas and Islam is, the Antichrist will be worse. Now is the time for them to put their trust in God alone because Biden and others will only betray them. Now is the time to accept their Messiah Yeshua in Whom is their only salvation. The time of Jacob’s trouble will be the worse time the world has ever seen or will ever see. God is merciful and desires all to repent; yet, many will refuse to repent.
