Peter Jennings, the late anchor of ABC’s World News Tonight, once remarked the following as host of a television investigation of unidentified flying objects:
“We have a lot of skeptics—I am very skeptical—but we seriously investigated something a lot of people are serious about,” he said. “And when we come to the end, this is wonderfully interesting.
“More than 80 million Americans believe intelligent beings from somewhere else have come here,” he said. “Forty million believe they have seen UFOs, so this is of deep interest to people.”
Jennings said further in exploring the wide span of those interviewed who were believers and skeptics that the exploration was filled “with people in so many traditional, trusted walks of life—cops, pilots, detectives, scientists, historians, all with their own views, but all who have taken [the UFO matters] seriously.” (“ABC’s Peter Jennings examines UFO phenomenon,” Kathy Blumenstock, Washington Post, Posted February 24, 2005)
Stage-setting for the fulfillment of Bible prophecy has ratcheted up significantly in practically every area that God’s Word touches on in giving meaning to Jesus’ powerful words:
And when you see all these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your head, for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:28)
Economically and technologically, the world is being prepared to accept a digital way of doing business. The nation and world rapidly being linked to computers, satellites, biogenetics, and burgeoning AI forewarns that the 666 marks-and-numbering system of Revelation 13:16–18 (Antichrist’s system of control) can’t be far distant.
Sociologically and culturally, the world is becoming more like Sodom, particularly here in our own nation. Violence and evil seem to be on the minds of humankind continually, like in the days of Noah.
Corruption rampages at every level, filling the world with deception, which Jesus gave as the first sign of what to look for in watching for His Second Coming.
Evil men and seducers abound, as Paul forewarned under Holy Spirit inspiration.
Wars and rumors of wars have vaulted to the forefront of present-day crises. And God’s chosen people and nation are at the very heart of Satan’s assault on humanity.
The stage being set for prophetic fulfillment could hardly be more in the process of full, end-times display than things going on currently. With all this as a backdrop, the earth is primed for a terrible invasion, as Jesus gave John.
Until very recently, talk of UFOs as being real has been treated as anything but truth. Again, the report on Jennings’ UFO program of all those years ago is interesting.
Executive producer Tom Yellin said the UFO field is “a risky thing to report since it doesn’t go with the conventional wisdom that this stuff is kind of silly, and the whole subject has been tainted by the brush of wackiness.”
Like Jennings, Yellin initially had reservations about devoting a program to UFOs. “I thought it was all a bunch of baloney. Even though it has public appeal, you don’t want to do something that subjects you to ridicule just to get a rating.”
But Yellin discovered “a tremendous amount of information that deserves further examination.
“The U.S. government and every government have a policy of knocking [UFO reports] down, and that is very different from covering it up,” he said. “The field has been abandoned to kooks and amateurs, and we felt it was worth looking at more closely.” (Ibid.)
The leap forward to 2023 finds the world in a much more acceptable configuration to the UFO intrigues. As a matter of fact, here in this column and in many other forums, both in biblical and secular arenas, it is being accepted that extraterrestrial life is not only out there, but is trying to and about to make contact.
Some fear an H. G. Wells-type invasion. But more people, particularly those in international leadership, seem to view something or someone from outer space coming to earth as just another diplomatic front to be used to establish greater power to control.
What isn’t recognized is that the unidentified flying objects (UFOs), now called by the powers that be “unidentified anomalous phenomena,” or “unidentified aerial phenomena” (“UAPs”) are prophesied in God’s Word to someday touch down on the earth. These will not be extraterrestrial, however.
When the UFOs touch down, it will be not a moment of diplomatic rapprochement. It will be the beginning of the worst time of all human history—according to Jesus Himself:
For then will be a time of great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. (Matthew 24:21)
Jesus gave John the following to warn those who will be alive during those horrendous years to come:
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him… Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. (Revelation 12:7–9, 12)
John was further told to write of what is coming on earth:
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast. (Revelation 13:11–14)
Indeed, lights, as fire descending from the heavens, are scheduled to invade earth. But they will be dimensional, not extraterrestrial, beings who do the invading.
We can expect, I believe, to see and hear UFO or UAP stories on the increase as prophetic fulfillment proceeds ever more swiftly.
When the UFOs finally touch down, it will be far worse than anything H. G. Wells could conceive as a fiction writer, or that Orson Welles could narrate. You don’t want to be here then. Here, again, is how to make sure you are off this judgment-bound planet and safely with Christ when all of this takes place.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)

***UFO Second-Coming series***
I hope you will consider getting the Second Coming Chronicles series in thinking on Christmas gifts. Even though novels, these three books help set the stage in providing enlightenment for what I believe is coming, as I’ve written in the above article. My prayer is that the fictional accounts will spark in the readers of these stories, interest in God’s Word about things to come. Perhaps this is a kind of back door way to witness God’s Truth, through fictional presentation, to those you love.

At the risk of being repetitious here is my take on intelligent life as portrayed by the Bible:
1) God, the ultimate, omniscient, and almighty.
2) Angels of various types, e.g. cherubim, seraphim, etc. , a third of which chose to join Satan in his rebellion against God.
3) Humans.
We might add another category and that is the Nephilim, hybrids of fallen angels and human females. It is possible that science is already trying to replicate enhanced humans genetically. Perhaps this last category has or will have involvement in this UFO business.
As far as intelligent beings coming in from other planets, I think such a thing is significant enough to have gotten mentioned in the Bible, if, for no other reason, to inform us which of these ETs were friend or foe. That this is not the case, is a good indication that they just don’t exist, in my opinion.
We have yet to find any kind of life, even of a primitive kind, within our own solar system. If we did, I’d bet it originally came from Earth and was transplanted. It has already been proven that pieces of Mars have ended up landing on Earth due to collisions with massive space objects hitting that planet, so why not the reverse being true? We might even find this to be so if the subsurface oceans on some of our outer planets’ satellites, though I doubt we have enough time to develop the kind of space vehicles needed to do that job, based on the fast-ticking prophetic clock down here.
Masking his true actions and those of his minions, be they demonic, human, or a combination of the two, would be right down the alley of the father of all lies. It certainly would play into a plausible-sounding “explanation” for the Rapture, especially if it is used successfully for some earlier event.
We’ve already seen how the so-called Covid pandemic was used to pull off a fraud even bigger than the last election in America, haven’t we? (Just my opinion, of course!)
Get ready for more grand deceptions in the days ahead, just as Jesus warned us about almost 2000 years ago.
We are not wrong to speculate about what may occur to deceive the whole world during the tribulation. There are so many different deceptions underway that the UFO/UAP seems almost guaranteed to occur. Just as the deception of the AC declaring himself God, which we know through scripture will happen.
I’ve been meditating on God’s word, and just finished the Book of Revelation again. What has always baffled me is how so many people will fall for the AC’s deception when the Bible makes it plain how to spot him; all that he will do and how he will deceive. About the only answer I’ve found to that question is that legitimate Bibles and all true information about the Lord will be erased as fast as possible from the internet and in churches after the Rapture.
A counterfeit Bible will almost certainly be introduced, promoted and universally accepted by the Harlot religion and people won’t be able to find the truth. (How many true Believers even read and know the scriptures today?! Those who do, and are reborn, will be gone in the Rapture.) It will be so very hard to find the Truth. I believe Jesus may have been alluding to this in John 9:4 when He said “We must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.”
Our precious Bibles and all the tracts, warnings, and letters we leave behind will become incredibly scarce and deadly to possess. How else can Satan and the False Prophet deceive the masses?! Who knows, maybe they will even write prophecies about aliens into their false teachings and deceive people into thinking they are holy angels?! The Catholic Church has recently proclaimed they have trained priests to baptize aliens because they say aliens are sinless and closer to God than we are. This is not a conspiracy theory, it is cold hard fact and is outrageous heresy and deception!
Truly, the massive lies and false miracles will only be limited by the imagination of Satan, and he is quite formidable in his schemes.
How gracious is the Lord to protect us from what is coming, and how terrible the world will be when we are gone! The Rapture is clearly the true beginning of tremendous judgment upon all remaining earth-dwellers. I genuinely weep for those I love who have not repented and made Jesus their Lord and Savior.
Hi, Robin.
(I hope all this message gets out in this new and unfamiliar format!!)
When we look at how the “church” has so successfully substituted the “doctrines of devils” for the doctrines of God” which we find in the Bible, how governments and “health experts” peddled their deception on a mass scale over Covid, it shows how easy it is to fool the masses.
I think Paul spelled out why in Romans, chapter 1. Turning way from God sooon causes a real mental deterioration that impedes a person from realizing they are buying into any big lie.
As bad as it is now, can you imagine how much worse it will be post-Rapture, as you correctly point out. Yet, many will be saved for eternity, even though they lose their lives down here (Revelation 7:9-17). The truth will not be totally lost, but finding it will be a lot more difficult and personally dangerous in that time.
In the meantime, we can keep getting out the message. We may never know what may grow from the seeds we plant in these last of the last days.
I can imagine, but my mind shuts down when I get into the details and revert to prayer and thanks that we won’t be here for it. But it gives me so much compassion for anyone who will be here when we are gone.
If it wasn’t for God’s mercy, no one would be saved during the Tribulation…but His promise is the opposite. As you noted, Revelation 7 details this multitude and most will be martyred. So at least in the early part of the Tribulation, there will be an effective sharing of the gospel.
We can easily imagine how so many will say “Why didn’t I believe in Jesus when it was relatively easy, and I wasn’t going to die for my faith?” My response (in my mind) is “far better late than never!”
Every day it is one day closer to the Rapture!
Hello again, Robin.
During the Tribulation, truth will not be totally lost as there will be the Two Witnesses (Revelation 11:3-21) and the preaching angel (Revelation 14:6-7) to provide testimony.
Even in those awful, last years God is still trying to save people and it appears that this effort will be successful, based on how many white-robed martyrs appear in heaven.
But, sadly, most of the human race will fall in for deception and be led into hell. That this is already so prevalent shows us a preview of how bad it will be post-Rapture.
In 1991, Pat Robertson published a book titled “The New World Order” which was stunningly prescient. I urge everyone to read it. It’s available at Amazon. The world has lost a great teacher and devoted man of God.

I wonder… do you think they’ll bounce???
When the government started having public hearings on UFOs and they were renamed UAPs, I felt like this was an attempt to distance itself from the reputation of “kooks and amateurs.” With a more “dignified” name and appearance of serious consideration, this could be used to distract from more sinister government activities. It makes perfect sense Satan will use it to lead people away from Christ as well, and instead.
