My late, great friend Tim LaHaye used to say that his detractors accused that all of his Bible prophecy presentations constituted fiction. This he would sometimes joke during the years he and novelist Jerry Jenkins combined to create perhaps the most successful fiction series in publishing history. Certainly it was the most successful series in the history of Christian publishing.
Their novels, given the overall title Left Behind, were, although fiction, based faithfully on God’s Truth about prophecy that will unfold from the “twinkling-of-an-eye” moment Christ calls all believers of the Church Age, dead and living, into the clouds of Glory.
Although these books were fiction, LaHaye and Jenkins could be assured that the scenarios they presented in the novels were not without credence from the Word of God.
Now, to try to explain why I preface this pre-presidential election commentary with the above.
My novelist alter-persona emerges to the writing surface to present this week’s thoughts on the presidential election that occurs tomorrow. (I write this more than a week in advance, and, of course, it is posted today as you have it available to read—Monday November 4).
The title of this article will, as intended, I hope, encompass and reflect Holy Spirit-directed thought (not, of course, “inspired thought,” as was given to Old and New Testament prophets, but the understanding/discernment given today to those who seek Holy Spirit direction). I hope readers will understand that I present how things might unfold, as I suspect is likely, considering that this is, as stated above, written a week in advance of the election.
The scenario I write, like in the case of Tim and Jerry’s Left Behind books, is a fictional prospective based on Bible prophecy. But it is meant to address actual, unfolding events of profound importance at this very moment. It isn’t biblically prophetic truth written for entertainment, like in the Left Behind series, but it’s intended to provide thought-provoking probabilities about things to come following this election.
The fictional elements in my commentary are in the scenario. These constitute a portrayal of things likely to happen over a period of time following this election.
America is in the most tenuous position it’s ever been in. That is a critically important statement. What makes this present status of our nation the most critical ever confronted?
In my scenario, Bible prophecy is the answer.
Never before has this nation—or any other—been situated at a time when Bible prophecy was so near fulfillment, in terms of the world being on the brink of going into the Tribulation. Taking into account all the signals Jesus gave for the last seven years of human history leading to Christ’s Second Advent, let us track through my scenario beginning with tomorrow’s presidential election, remembering that it is fiction, but projected from present realities based upon the Word of God.

Donald Trump is now president-elect number forty-seven with a significant electoral victory. Certification, however, is forcibly dragged out slowly in the blue states, which use law fare to confute election results at every juncture.
Cities within those same states rage with angry protests reminiscent of past elections lost by those who champion radical, leftist ideology.
Republicans win a majority in the House of Representatives and narrowly win a majority in the Senate.
Screams of election-cheating blister the mainstream headlines with emotions of rabid anti-Trump hatred. Larger cities erupt inflames and carnage, destroying commercial infrastructure in ways worse than any before.
Paid instigators of violence push anarchistic forces into suburbs. For the first time, the rage is met with resistance by citizens bearing arms. Looters and rioters are killed and the forces retreat back into their inner-city enclaves.
Mainstream news, rather than lauding the resistance to the violence attacking citizens in their suburban communities, blames those defending their homes for use of gunfire and deadly force.
This media, both news and entertainment, now join in the accusatory mantra of election fraud and cheating. Those in mainstream media and those on the losing side scream about election corruption inversely to the way they prosecuted and ranted against those who made the same accusations in claiming fraud and cheating taking place in the 2020 presidential election. Real insurrection, unlike the pseudo charges of insurrection of January 6, 2021, is now waged by the rioters raging on behalf of the losing political party.
While the United States turmoil boils to near civil war, antagonist enemies of America and the Western alliance, sensing present weakness in the American government, and knowing that Trump will very soon take office and their opportunity will be missed, quickly make plans to take advantage. World War III looks to be inevitable.
China gathers to test the resolve of the US and other NATO members in threatening Taiwan. Russia moves its troops and North Korean-alliance troops in, staging for invading Ukraine. Mideast terrorist organizations move to begin major assault on Israel.
Israel knows of this plan of massive assault that’s on the brink of coming together. The IDF, without any warning to US or Western leaders, plans the immediate destruction of Damascus, where most terrorist organizations’ leaderships are headquartered. At the same time, the IDF moves to destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons development facilities.
All of this movement toward world war feeds into the altered blueprint that was, before Trump’s reemergence as president, the Great Reset proposed by Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum. Now something must be hurriedly done, or else the collective power the globalists wanting a new world order have spent years constructing will slip away.
They do all they can to see to it that world war is begun—to neutralize Trump’s taking the reins of power and to establish themselves firmly in control of the Western power bloc.

Just as the nuclear buttons are about to be pushed, the most profound intervening act of Providence in human history brings, for the moment, all war-waging intentions to an abrupt halt.

Prophetically, I do not see the threat of nuclear war a reality. When we examine Ezekiel 38/39 and Isaiah 17 we see that Israel is faced with unparalleled devastation as a means to call them to the source of their true source of security.
“And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean”- Isaiah 17:4.
“At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel”- Isaiah 17:7.
“Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?”- Ezekiel 38:17.
“So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel”- Ezekiel 39:7.
Israel must be brought to a level of repentance where their trust in their military might, technology, and various alliances are no longer proven to be the source of their security. The Lord God is again seeking to make His presence known among His people Israel in a mighty way! God alone is the only true source of Israel’s security.
Regardless of the presence of the United States in the region, the will and purpose of the Lord God will be fulfilled to the letter. There is no nuclear war coming or a world war at this present time although, all nations will soon witness the mighty hand of the Lord God for the sake of His Holy Name.
Israel will be delivered in “That Day”yet Israel can be expected to suffer much to bring them to the point of acknowledgement of the God of their Salvation. I pray for Israel yet I also am aware of what must take place. A President Trump will not save the day for Israel only the mighty hand of God will do this.
Russia and Persia (Iran) have an appointment with destiny on the mountains (borders) of Israel. As prophesied, the Western powers (Merchants of Tarshish/young lions) are gathered in the region to see them assemble and inquire of their intentions. This identifies clearly that a conflict is present during the time preceding the Gog/Magog invasion. The time draws near for the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38/39.
I’ve long said the Ezekiel 38 may just be the tail end of a larger conflict. Seems armies are already in the Middle East at the time of this prophecy or at a minimum the coalition of nations is already on a war footing.

I believe the fulfillment of the Gog/Magog invasion of Ezekiel 38/39 will present the Church with an opportunity for evangelism. The nations as is recorded, will acknowledge the mighty hand of God. This opportunity should not be overlooked.
You might just be spot on with this scenario. I hope Trump wins by record numbers. The opposition will most likely loose their minds and the gloves could possibly come off. In the likelihood of that scenario, the liberal authorities will most likely do very little to stop the carnage. If they can not have their world utopia the alternative is to tear it apart. We will be forced to defend ourselves as the lawlessness reaches all time highs. As you stated in your scenario when it almost peaks to the point of no return, Christ could pump the brakes by pulling the church out of harms way. Shock and awe for those left behind. Israel will stand alone. It is my own opinion the world will take advantage of the opportunity and the hook in the jaw alliance will make their move. When the alliances witness God’s supernatural intervention destroy all but 1/6th of their armies, they will beg for peace not being able to comprehend what just happened. I believe this will usher in the antichrist who we all know will be the architect of that seven year peace agreement. In my opinion it will take an unexplainable fear to drive the anti-Israel alliance into a peace agreement.
Unfortunately, we do not have the 10 Kings yet from which the AntiChrist rises to power. It is also clear from Revelation 7:3,4 that the 144,000 must be sealed by God prior to the Wrath. We are definitely not at that juncture presently.
Then of course, we know that the Gog/Magog invasion is about God’s Holy Name being glorified which stands in sharp contrast to the AntiChrist being hailed as Messiah.
“So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward”- Ezekiel 39:22.
This declaration by God clearly identifies the eschatological view of many is a tremendous error. It appears many are grasping for straws seeking to find an acceptable Rapture scenario yet there is only one and that is found in 2 Thessalonians 2:3.
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”
The Apostle Paul makes it crystal clear that our gathering together unto Christ can not occur until their be a falling away (departure from the faith) first, and the Son of Perdition (AntiChrist) is revealed.
How is the AntiChrist revealed and when does this occur?
“Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God”- 2 Thessalonians 2:4.
The revealing of the AntiChrist according to the Apostle Paul does not take place until the Abomination of Desolation. This event will start the Time of Jacob’s Trouble as well as the Wrath of the Lamb.
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:”- Mathew 24:15,16.
We must always stick with the Truth of the scriptures and not impose our own will in creating scenarios that tickle the ears yet remain far from what is written therein.
In 1991 Saddam Hussein torched the Kuwaiti oil fields as he was pushed back by the U.S. – led alliance. I have a hunch this same kind of mentality will be replicated by the Biden-Harris administration if they lose this election. I do not think they will go out quietly.
As you can see below, I very much agree with what Terry said in his commentary.
I envision civil disruptions being stirred up in the big cities, maybe even blockades of critical segments of our infrastructure and industry as well.
I expect “Lawfare” to increase dramatically against Trump and anyone who supports him. Matter of fact, we can expect a legal open season on any conservatives as individuals or groups.
The hatred the present administration has for Israel will be unrestrained now and I expect all kinds of boycotts of military hardware to really be imposed as well as pressure for an unrealistic and unattainable Two-State Solution. No matter which way the election goes, I think Israel should make its moves right now because the next few months will be very problematic.
Furthermore, watch for all kinds of manipulations and extreme measures being undertaken to keep President Trump from actually attaining the presidency once again.
And don’t think just our domestic enemies will be alone because our overseas foes may very well use this limited window of opportunity to make whatever moves they have been long planning against us, as we see from Terry’s article as well
This may very well be the most dangerous time America has ever faced, worse than the Civil War and Cuban missile crisis, the latter I happen to have been alive to experience.
Nevertheless, God is still on the throne and believers are citizens of his Kingdom, first and foremost.
I 100% agree Ed, and Terry, with your assessment of where things stand; these are the perilous times Jesus warned us about.
Last night I was thinking about this election and why God allowed Trump to be ‘defeated’ last election. Back then it was maddening to watch every door, every option to take his rightful place, shut in his/our face. I believe God is sovereign, but couldn’t see what was going on…other than to believe and accept this was His judgment against us. I now understand it was that for sure, and a whole lot more!
If Trump had remained in office, the world would not be ripe for the Tribulation. The world would not be on the verge of multiple wars, the globalists would have been restrained, the BRICS would not have been formed, our economy would not be on the knife’s edge of collapse, the global food supplies wouldn’t be depleted, along with our own oil and energy reserves…and Israel would not be isolated and dealing with wars on 7 fronts…on it goes. God has a timetable and human beings are not able to divert or disrupt it, and that is why I am certain the 2020 election turned out as it did. All God’s sovereign plan.
I’m absolutely convinced Trump was held from his rightful office to set up Earth for Jacob’s Trouble. And in the interim God has done a wondrous thing, He has opened the eyes of millions of people around the world to what is underway. Many are not yet saved, but the seeds have been planted for multitudes to become Tribulation Saints. His ways are NOT our ways, praise His holy name!
Could Trump retake office?! (His legitimate win is certain.) It’s possible he could, I can’t say no, since I am not God and surely didn’t expect we’d survive as a nation for 4 years after Nov. 2020. But if he does, I stand firmly on the belief that we don’t have another 4 years as the USA as we know it. Ed, as you pointed out, our enemies know how fearfully weak we are right now, it is hard to believe they are going to squander this opportunity. In fact, I think they are excited for the next few weeks. The globalists have come VERY far in 4 years, probably have succeeded beyond their expectations. But Yahweh has many frightening surprises coming for this world, and its evildoers, while the Saints will be removed.
BTW, if you want something to encourage your soul and edify your mind on the history of the Church, I discovered Dave Stott’s Drive Thru History series. https://drivethruhistory.com/ It is wonderful, theologically accurate (although a tiny bit neutral since he accesses so many ancient churches which are Catholic and Greek Orthodox-they dominate the ancient and holy lands) and a great reminder of all God has done to bring salvation to a broken and dying world. It is incredible to see all that God has done for us on video.
We are closer than ever to the Rapture of the Church.
Your observation about why Donald Trump may have not won a second consecutive term is very insightful. I hadn’t considered this, but what you said certainly rings true. I doubt we would never have gotten this close to the razor’s edge of End Times events as we are now, just as you pointed out.
The left-wing incompetence we’ve seen in the past 4 years has indeed provided the catalyst for the Ezekiel players to come onto the stage, the U.N. “Plan for the Future,” which is nothing less than the blueprint for the establishment of a global government, would certainly have been opposed by a Trump administration, no doubt stalling its implementation.
We’ve also seen the U.S. backing away from Israel which emboldened is enemies to attack it last year. Paradoxically, it has also allowed Israel to pull the teeth of its foes with a quickness and efficiency which has surprised the world even in view of America’s schizophrenic policies toward it.
I do think Trump will win tomorrow but the question then becomes whether his enemies will ever let him take actually take office. I expect the next few months to be extremely turbulent and this instability may just be a prelude to the chaos that will ensue post-Rapture.

It reassures me that God is working mightily in this world to bring about all that He has foretold. And we can rely upon Him to save us and keep us safe when the worst of it comes.
Even if I die, like multitudes of saints already have, before the Rapture, I trust Him!
Robin, you sure have a definite gift of putting together the events of these times and making sense of them. As I said, I think your observation as to why President Trump didn’t get a consecutive second term is spot-on.
The results of today’s election will speak volumes as to the state of our country, whether there are enough people left that realize just how evil the past four years have been and want to make the moved to repudiate it.
I would like to see a huge revival, though I don’t think this is in the cards. However, I would not have placed bets on the Nineveh of Jonah’s time, either. Perhaps we will be granted a stay of execution even as that ancient city did – which, in our case, would no doubt come to an abrupt end when the Rapture takes place.
However this goes, I do think our departure will be very soon!
