While I think on and write this commentary for posting April 14, there are powerful storms brewing to the west in Oklahoma. This time of year always brings angst about the tornadic thunderstorms that threaten during the springtime in the mid-South. This one is particularly threatening, the weather gurus are saying. Long-track tornadoes are possible, even likely, and the rain, they say, could be the likes of which we haven’t experienced in…maybe…fifty years or so.
By now, at the time you read this, of course, that threat is long gone, and we have likely faced similar weather fronts since.
Always, while the storms are forming and approaching, we pray for God’s protection—that His hand govern so people aren’t harmed.
There is building at this moment in our world a storm potentially far worse than a long-track tornado that destroys only what’s in a relatively narrow path. World War III is looming across the horizon, and it is from the east, rather than from the west, from whence the tornadic thunderstorms come.
The threats have been building and ongoing for months, and have come more intensely into focus within recent weeks and days.
The latest indication of the building storm of potential world war came directly from the nation-state possessing reportedly the largest stockpile of nuclear weaponry. The warning implicit within the threat again brings back thoughts of the same nation-state and its part in bringing the world to the brink of nuclear holocaust.
I’m talking about, of course, the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, when Soviet Premiere Nikita Khrushchev threatened all-out war while America’s President John F. Kennedy opposed Khrushchev’s movement of nuclear weapons onto the island of Cuba ninety miles to our south.
As a twenty-year-old college student, I was quite worried as that geopolitical storm developed and grew to the point that it looked like the nukes would be unleashed at any moment.
There is a report I’ve read of a Soviet submarine at that crucial moment carrying atomic weapons whose commander came within a hair’s breadth of pushing the nuclear button. Three of the sub’s officers had to make the decision to launch, and one of the three didn’t believe there had been the hostile action reported against the Russian navy that warranted retaliation. He refused to agree to the launch, and World War III was avoided.
Although the world of military history doesn’t acknowledge the truth, it was, to us who were Christians and went through that time, God’s staying hand that controlled the decision of those submarines in that fateful instant. It continues to be our God’s omnipresence, omnipotence, and omniscience that, as Kennedy said in his inaugural address: “stays the hand of man’s final war.”
The following demonstrates that man continues down that deadly pathway toward the great Tribulation storm leading to World War III and devastation even worse than nuclear weapons can produce. Ironically, again the threat comes from within a Russian nuclear weapons-laden submarine.
On the cold steel of the Arkhangelsk, a nuclear submarine anchored in the machinery of modern warfare, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a message that bypassed diplomatic filters and landed directly on the fault lines of international tension. He spoke not with rhetoric, but with a calculated, measured threat—the kind that doesn’t need to shout to be heard.
“He forgot, it seems, that Russia has crews like yours and submarines like yours,” he said, staring out across a sea of uniformed sailors and flashing cameras. His words, directed at former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, were neither casual nor symbolic. They were a deliberate invocation of power, a reminder carved into steel and uranium that history has not been forgotten—and will not be forgiven.
This wasn’t a nostalgic reference to past conflicts. It was a direct line drawn in real time between an aborted peace agreement in 2022 and the quiet hum of nuclear submarines now fully armed and ready beneath the waves. The implications are staggering, and the silence in London should no longer be interpreted as strength, but as ignorance—or worse, as denial. It is not just the Russian dictator who’s threatening to initiate World War III, but other building situations to our east. Here are a few examples taken from Raptureready.com News.
- The Iranians Load Missiles “Onto Launchers in All Underground Missile Cities” after Trump Threatens Them with “Bombing the Likes of Which They Have Never Seen Before.” Iran threatens to target US-British joint base in Indian Ocean. Trump warned that any future attacks from the Houthis, who have targeted US Naval vessels hundreds of times and wreaked havoc with global shipping channels, would be treated as a direct aggression from Iran itself. Iran has threatened to retaliate against the joint U.S.-U.K. naval base on Diego Garcia in the Chagos Archipelago if the United States attacks the Islamic Republic,
- Kim Jong Un Unveils Large AI-Equipped Combat Drones. North Korea has unveiled a new batch of new AI-equipped suicide and reconnaissance drones which the country is showcasing as part of military modernization plans. State-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Thursday that leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the testing of “various kinds of reconnaissance and suicide drones.”
- China is practicing “dogfighting” in space, Space Force says. Chinese satellites have conducted coordinated maneuvers with “synchrony” and “control,” a top Space Force official revealed Tuesday, dubbing the moves “dogfighting in space.” The service is “starting to see our near-peers focusing on practicing dogfighting in space with satellite-on-satellite” operations, Vice Chief of Space Operations Gen. Michael Guetlein said during the annual McAleese defense programs conference.
The Tribulation storm, outlined in the book of Revelation, is building. Our new book, Tracking Toward Tribulation: And the Any-Moment Intervention of Jesus Christ, is a volume I hope you will read. Terry James Prophecy Line 
Back in the 80’s and 90’s, my younger brother was an officer on the USA’s fast attack, city class, nuclear submarines. He served on the USS Buffalo and I got to visit him in Pearl Harbor and tour the sub in dock, and have dinner on it. That was an unforgettable experience.
I came away with a clear understanding that if/when nuclear subs, both ours and ‘theirs,’ ever engaged in warfare, it was very, very, very bad news for the world. When my brother and I talk about nuclear war, it is clear to us that the danger is even more pronounced now.
For those of us with eyes to see, the approach of the Tribulation is impossible to ignore. There are prophecy teachers who keep us up to date, like you do Terry, who claim it must be a ways out, because the whole Beast System must be ready before the Antichrist steps forward. I strongly disagree.
It seems to me that God isn’t going to make things easy for AC. Everything will not be completed for his one world system. He is going to have to fight tooth and nail to get it established, resulting in massive death and destruction. (I believe the Tribulation Saints are going to give him a terrible time, praise the Lord!) Additionally, he is going to have to contend with the 2 Witnesses and the 144,000 Jewish men who are spreading the word of salvation, all while trying to establish a global network of commerce control and the one world religion (not to mention the herculean challenge of disposing of 2 billion dead bodies.)
It is not going to be smooth sailing for him, with everything established as ‘plug and play.’ God will see to it that the world under his wicked domain is terrifying and chaotic, not calm and orderly. And warfare, along with persecution, will be central to that.
Thinking so much more needs to take place before we are raptured is discouraging, so when I hear those comments I shut them off. Nothing stands between us and the Rapture except God’s voice telling our glorious Savior, Jesus “Son, go get your bride.”
The threat of nuclear war is always a possibility although such unchecked devastation is not portrayed this side of the prophesied 70th week. Once such weapons are deployed the entire globe would be under a thermal radiation cloud.
Prophetically the 10 Kings must rise before the AntiChrist rises to power as the 11th or “little horn”. The AntiChrist will dominate the globe and make war with the Saints and overcome them as it is written. The False Prophet will implement the Beast System through a global religion demanding worship of Satan ultimately.
“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”- Revelation 13:4
A global thermal nuclear war at this time of which there can no limited exchange would stand in the way of such prophetic fulfillment for the rise of the Beast or AntiChrist and his global domination. Once such a proverbial scenario were to take place nuclear powers would all be forced to deploy these deadly weapons.
For the 144,000 to take their place in their prophesied role, Israel most assuredly must be brought into a point of spiritual significance. I believe this event is found in the final verse of Ezekiel chapter 39.
“Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD”- Ezekiel 39:29.
I believe this event identifies with the prophetic “Latter Rain” or outpouring of the Spirit of God upon the House of Israel. The “Former Rain” being that which occurred on Pentecost. Israel must be spiritually prepared to endure the Time of Jacob’s Trouble.
Personally, I believe what we are now witnessing is the prophesied global economic collapse depicted in James chapter 5. Within this prophetic passage we are instructed to be patient as Job and remember the suffering and afflictions that the Prophets of the Most High endured as well as our Lord. The Lord then instructs that He awaits the Early and Latter Rain. This is the Patience of the Saints.
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
James 5:7-11.
As believers in Christ we too are being tested. I pray for the patience to endure for all of us!

Where is this peace and safety spoken of? We don’t see it anywhere, nor have we since this prophetic scripture was first quoted.
War seems more inevitable now than at any time. This has been the case for as long as I can remember. The prospect for world peace seems nothing more than a fantasy. Threats (rumors) of war abound, on both sides of the aisle depending on whose viewpoint is waxing at the moment. All of these things have not ceased, but we know it must happen because Jesus said it would. Something earth-shaking must happen to make this prophecy a reality, and soon.
Jesus said the generation that will witness the Fig Tree blossom will not pass before the Son of Man cometh. What is the Fig Tree–Israel. What does blossom mean? There are several definitions that are associated with this word. It can mean new beginnings, renewal, hope, purity, enlightenment, and the potential for growth. All of these speak to the rebirth of national Israel. Which generation was Jesus speaking to? That has been a heated topic in prophecy as far as I know because of the uncertainty of the length and exact timing of when this generation actually starts. However, the date most widely associated with this event is May 14, 1948, not June 6, 1967, when Jerusalem was recaptured by the Jews. This generation, I believe, is the baby-boomer generation, roughly from 1946-1964.
The Bible says a generation is 70 years, or 80 years if by strength. Add the numbers and this equates to 2018, up until 2028–3 years from now. If the 70-80 year count starts in 1964, the 70-80 years is from 2034 until 2044, which is a possibility, however, with everything happening in the world I can’t imagine it continuing this far in the future–can you?
Since we are confident in our position of a pre-tribulation Rapture, which hasn’t happened, something dramatic must begin shortly to fulfill 1st Thes:5:3 prophecy.
*Correction–I just re-read an online reader-bloggers of Terry James Prophecy Hotline commenting in Terry’s “Deity’s Derision On Display-3/30/25”. Quoting, “President Trump offers Peace and Prosperity and by these policies he will destroy many nations while many of my fellow evangelicals refuse to see the truth before them”. Rodneydezarn’s reply to Jamie in comments.
This made me re-think my position on key verse 1st Thes:5:3 “when they say peace and safety”, not when there actually is peace and safety. Big difference in semantics, and while Pres. Trump’s position garners peace with prosperity, he cannot possibly achieve it. He cannot possibly be the antichrist either with the kind of personality he has! This person will be the smoothest talking, most charismatic human to ever walk the planet, and will seduce millions through his appeal.
**Update: I watch Jimmy, Donnie and Gabriel Swaggart on Son Life Broadcasting Network. I also watch SBN’s Classics where Jimmy is evangelizing all over the world back in the 1980s. The last 6-7 weeks or so Jimmy’s sermons have been on the Rapture, and its nearness. The similarities in world events back then, and the sinful nature of man’s position in the world today are eerily similar. There was much talk of doomsday then, and I remember prophecy watchers and preachers believing the Rapture was at hand. Jimmy was wrong back then, but it didn’t lessen the impact of his message to come to a Saving Knowledge in Jesus Christ now. My point being we are now even closer than when we first believed!
Hi Mike, last year I saw a video compilation of many world leaders, and members of the UN, each calling for Peace and Safety, or Peace and Security. The videos were all recent-within the last 2 years-and it contained over 180 snippets and lasted over 2 minutes. It was sobering. I think it is accurate to say there has never been such a global cry for peace and safety.
The chatter of past decades certainly claimed the Rapture was going to happen soon, to the point that many people have tuned it out. They often fulfill 2 Peter 3:4 “They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”
The difference between now and any other time in history is AI and all the happenings in Israel and her enemy neighbors (which is the topic for another conversation.) AI has changed our understanding of the timing of prophecy; what was impossible to do before AI took over (and it has taken over in just 2.5 years) is occuring. It is not probable, it is here.
It’s like having all the pieces of a complicated Lego set laid out on the floor, and the only thing required is to assemble it. All the pieces are here. There will be more advanced iterations of it in 3 months, in 6 months, in a year, because AI’s capabilities and advancements are moving faster than the speed of light now. The latest advancements have been ‘open-sourced,’ meaning all the great and global technological scientists are working openly (not in secret) and sharing their results, to facilitate more rapid and powerful advancements. This is not an exaggeration. I’m confident they have discovered things we don’t know about and are advancing without public knowledge. For example, the newly revived, formerly extinct, Dire Wolves were born last October, but they just released the info and the cute little wolf pup photos, 2 weeks ago. They don’t want us to know what is happening, so we can’t resist and slow their ‘progress.’ It’s satanic.
I listen to watchman Patrick Woods at technocracy.news for daily info on technology, including the latest on robotics and transhumanism. God is going to intervene! We have gone way beyond the Tower of Babel. I don’t know when, but it’s 100% coming because, along with astounding and evil science and technology advances, we have reached the point where no one can tell truth from fiction (meaning believing our eyes and ears) any longer.
Yes, we are called to be patient, and to conform ourselves to the Lord’s timing and His will. I wholeheartedly agree with that, and I hold the belief that everything will not be set up for the beast system before we leave. Our departure will kick the door wide open for the AC to rapidly step in and smooth the waters (nations raging and the seas roaring in turmoil), complete the Lego set, and WWIII will likely explode.
I don’t have a Phone To The Throne, but it seems we are not far from the call of Jesus to join Him in the clouds.
Hi Robin, I agree with what you’re saying about Ai and how its changing everything too fast for us to comprehend its true evil intent. It’s implementation will probably explain much of what is described in Revelation that happens in the Tribulation. But Peace and Safety have been key words spoken by many for a long time now. I remember the 1980s very well and Israel was just as much under threats and actual bombings by militants, the PLO and others then, as now. Wars were just as much prevalent if not more so than today. Iran-Iraq, Soviets fighting in Afghanistan and Israel’s constant friction with the PLO, Syria and Lebanon to name a few. The world was on the ‘fringe”, I remember as Jimmy Swaggart so eloquently put it back then which is why he declared the Rapture was at the Door! Nobody back then could have foreseen the construction of a 3rd Temple. Nobody back then could have foreseen an alliance between Russia-the former Soviet Union–and Iran(Persia) and Turkey. Israeli citizens were vacationing in Turkey as recently as the 1980s I believe. But as you say nobody could have foreseen advancements in artificial intelligence. The cell phone had yet to become reality! Like I said we are definitely closer to His Appearing than when we first believed so I don’t disagree as I stated that generation Jesus spoke about appears to be us! Dave–
The prophesied 10 Kings or Horns do not receive a Kingdom until the rise of the 11th horn or AntiChrist is secure. These 10 Kings rule with the Beast for a short time (1 Hour) and give their authority to the AntiChrist.
“And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast”- Revelation 17:12,13.
These 10 Kings rule the world behind the scenes at present. These are global institutions that control the nations by policies not voted for by these same nations. They have one mind and work in cohesion for one purpose to bring the entire globe under subjection to the AntiChrist and his Luciferian New World Order. Political, economic, and religious institutions are part of this agenda.
Though at present these 10 Kings and their identity remains hidden, they will be revealed at the time they give their power and authority to one single ruler known as the AntiChrist. Though it is certain they precede the man of lawlessness, it is God that puts it into their (10 Kings) minds to prepare his (AntiChrist’s) arrival.
The present chaos we see threatening the global economy putting the world’s economy into subjection to one man is not an accident, it is orchestrated. The next phase once the reigns of economic power is secure will be to bring about a global religion under this same man as well. The political and religious allegiances will always follow the money.
Look closely, this present chaos has an order, it is the Hand of God that moves it to fulfill His will and purpose.
Indeed, much of the world is coming to the negotiating table. China is holding out yet they too will come under subjection, of that we can be certain. China has a powerful military yet it has not been sufficiently battle tested. It is doubtful China will at present want to risk a war with the United States. The “Deal Maker” will get what he wants.
Terry Sir, Thank you for writing with so much writ & determination in these final hours of human history. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only hope for mankind. Very unfortunately, very few realize it.
