During this troubling movement into ever-increasing evil, those among Bible teachers, writers, broadcasters, et al., who proclaim there is to be no pre-Tribulation Rapture are having a field day. They feed the business of prepping for a dystopian world. They stoke the fears of those who agree that life as it’s been known here in America will collapse into a Mad Max-type struggle for existence any day now.
And, in a way, they can’t be blamed. Everything points to a profound loss of sense of reality. End-times insanity certainly seems unstoppable while mankind moves farther and farther from God and toward that time John described in the book of Revelation.
Hearing podcasts today that talk of the horrors to come is disturbing. Not hearing anything about what is coming from the pulpits of most churches is even more disturbing. What disturbs most is that nothing is being told of the truth that Jesus Himself promises: the glorious calling of the Church into His presence at a time of enveloping darkness, like what’s taking place now.
I recently began listening to a particular podcast because I wanted to hear the host’s take on the stealing of the 2020 presidential election. After I heard that, I continued to listen as much out of daily habit as for any other reason.
The blog’s host paints—correctly, for the most part—a bleak future just ahead for the nation and the world. He points out the globalist minions who want to bring the rest of us under their domination. He includes that he believes the vaccines are all part of the control they intend to establish. They are, he offers, designed to do physical harm to recipients in order to bring the world’s population down dramatically over the ensuing months and years—i.e., he insists the vaccines will interact with immune systems in deleterious ways to cause people to die from the vaccines’ effects.
He believes the world—and the US, in particular—is in for some of the darkest times in human history. Only a few will survive.
And this is where he loses my attention. He says only those who prepare properly will survive—that is, those who are true patriots with a godly or morality-based belief system.
The globalists elite and others of the would-be rulers will submerge into their extravagant underground bunkers and even fully-equipped-for-survival cities.
Folks without these resources will still be able to survive if they follow the prepper rules for survival, including buying survival products such as those offered in his store.
When the blog host began talking in terms of his belief in God—even in Jesus Christ—and his acceptance that the book of Revelationspeaks of exactly the time of coming unprecedented trouble he is talking about, my interest was piqued.
He is apparently friends with a couple of well-known writers who delve into the subject of the hard times ahead for the nation and world. These are known to come against any notion of the Rapture of the Church. They’ve even on occasion scoffed at the idea of a pre-Trib movement of God’s people out of harm’s way. Christians will go through the Tribulation, but if properly prepared, will be kept more or less safe by God, they insist. Therefore, they must stock up and brace for the great hardships to come in order to survive.
I perceive that the blog host is, if he is a true believer—and I believe he is—he is a very immature one. That is, he has no understanding of Truth found in God’s Word in regard to prophecy yet future. I gather this opinion based upon several months now of listening.
When he began talking about the judgment and wrath in Revelation, earnestly imploring people to prepare to go through those times, I could do no other than find his email through a close friend who knows one of the men I mentioned earlier—one who is not a pre-Tribber. I emailed the blog host an offer to send him several of my books dealing with exactly the time of terrible trouble to come he’d been talking about. I also told him that his friends who teach against the Rapture are wrong, and, since he says he wants to consider all sides of matters, I wanted to present him with the truth about Christians not going through that coming time of horror.
I haven’t heard back from him. To even consider an alternate possibility to the position his anti-Rapture associates teach would go against his—and their—business models, as well as against their belief system regarding Bible prophecy.
I sensed, however, that I should make the effort to provide truth on that most glorious promise of our Lord that we will be delivered from the time of evil the likes of which mankind has never before seen.
Things going on in every facet of life at this moment, to the observant Bible prophecy student, point to very dark times ahead. The blog host I mention sees a moment coming when things will suddenly and catastrophically change. He thinks it will be brought about by the sudden fall of the US dollar as prime currency for the world, or because of some other financial disaster. Everything will collapse around the people of the nation and the world, and only those who are prepared—by having essentials of life stored, etc.—will survive. Billions will eventually die, he proclaims.
He is right about the coming calamity, except for being able to store enough gold, silver, and food to survive, and the cause of the catastrophic crash and movement into that world that will make the fictional era of Mad Max seem tame and rational by comparison.
That great, catastrophic time of unprecedented trouble will take place when millions of believers are called to be with their Lord in the heavenly clouds above this wrath-bound planet. That moment is drawing near. We can be sure of this because the Lord Jesus Himself said that when believers see the things that are now beginning to take place, we’re to “look up” because He (our Redeemer) is drawing near (Luke 21:28).

The Apostle Paul says the following to what looks to be this generation:
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, and remain until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18)

I have known several respectable Christians who believe that there is no pre-tribulation rapture. Their argument often goes something like this: “Wouldn’t you rather be prepared just in case?” My answer: “Romans 8:38-39 where Paul states in absolute terms that nothing, absolutely nothing, can separate us from the Love of God.” And then there’s Phillipians 4:6-7 which tells me to stop being anxious about everything and pray. Finally, there’s the blessed hope of 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18. If there’s no such thing as a pre-trib rapture, then what is this Blessed Hope? How could we “encourage each other with these words” (1 Thess 4:18) it if it’s not going to happen? The Blessed Hope is more like the Blessed DREAD if there is no pre-trib rapture!!
I’m betting on the plain truth of scripture as revealed to us. To me it’s a measure of weak faith to prepare for something with isn’t going to happen to us.

Well,Terry, you did your part in providing the relevant facts to that pod-caster you mentioned. Whether he accepts them or not is totally up to him. I went through the same thing as my former church denomination was giving a pass on homosexual behavior. I showed people what the Bible said, told them based on that, the church was dead wrong. I stuck it out for a few more years and when I saw I was clearly wasting my time, I left. But as the opportunities present themselves, I keep at it still, not only with the issue of human sexuality, but other subjects like Salvation, End Times matters, including the Rapture, etc. I’m not an expert, but the Bible’s Author is!
I figure that’s our task while we’re still here and understand most of this information will fall on deaf ears at best, hostile ones at worst. However – there may be a few that will take the time to check these things out for themselves and in so doing will find their way through the narrow path which finally leads to home.
As far as “preparing” for the Tribulation, it really is impossible to successfully prepare for this time. Even the rich are in for horrendous times. I personally, (knowing my Lord’s loving, protective heart, and how he has told us not to take anxious thought for tomorrow) could not ever believe that He would reveal to me, or any of His children, all of the horrific details of what is to come if His intention was for us to go through these times of terror. I believe, if He intended us to be present in this time, He would make only what we needed be revealed to us. I believe He revealed so much to us to cause us to realize how important it is for us, who will escape, to share the Gospel with those who have not yet been saved, so they have a chance to escape the evil future days, as well.
I agree – it really is impossible to prepare. More than half the planet’s population will be wiped out – where do you hide from that? Antarctica?! Besides, The Beast will make darn sure to hunt down the survivalists, the doomsday preppers, the naysayers, any people of faith. He’ll leave no stone unturned rooting them out from wherever they hide. Believers are deceiving themselves if they think they’re gonna coast through the tribulation by hunting, fishing, and trapping “off the grid”. Yeah, good luck. I’d rather put my hope in the Rapture than think I have any realistic chance of pulling THAT off.
If he (or they) believe that the Church will be here for the Tribulation, then he should prepare for just about all of the Church to either be beheaded or killed in the judgments of Revelation. There won’t be any place to hide. He must think that though God raptured Enoch before the flood, took Lot & family to safety before Sodom was destroyed, and saved Noah and his family in the flood, that the Church (God’s people and Jesus’ Bride) are somehow in a category by themselves–worthy of the worst judgment to come upon the earth.
Well stated Ruth L – excellent Biblical precedents to support the pre-trib view! Opponents to our view could always come back and say that Enoch, Lot, and Noah were arguably more righteous than the Church – (Which is debatable in the case of Lot!) but this neglects that we are under Grace. The Church is the perfect Bride because of Jesus’ righteousness imparted unto us – it’s not from ourselves. Hence, we can very rightly say that we are not worthy of this time of wrath because Jesus himself already took on that wrath for us!
Amen. It’s not our righteousness that makes us worthy of escaping the Tribulation–or being saved eternally. And going through the Tribulation will not make us any more worthy than we already are by the blood of Jesus right now. We all have tribulations in this world, as Jesus said we would, but we are not destined for THE Tribulation. It is the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy, so if the Church was not in the first 69 weeks, it also will not be in the 70th week.
Agreed – it is impossible to prep materially. The whole prepper thing from a Christian standpoint is a little odd anyway. Our minds and hearts should be set on the things above and not on the things of this world. Now is the time to trust God and be spiritual preppers so that when rapture does happen we go up.
It is possible there is a time of persecution before rapture and we ought to spiritually prepare for that as well so that we can continue to advance the gospel while we are still here. It may mean we must spiritually, mentally, emotionally let go of the comforts and wealth of which we are so accustomed.
Now is a time to get “Psalm 91” close to the Lord and rely on His protection.
I think Psalm 91 is where we got “In God we Trust” printed on all American currency. I fully expect that phrase will be removed under this wicked administration but it can never be removed from our hearts.
The main discrepancy that causes debate is not denying the rapture. But when is the rapture?
There is the pretrib view and the 2nd coming view. This meaning that the rapture takes place just prior to the 2nd coming. And since the 2nd coming of christ is yet to occur, meaning now or years from now or even decades or centuries from now it places controversy over the eminent event of a rapture.
We can speculate all we want but we can never really know for sure when this will occur. It is possible that 100 years from now believers will be debating this Blessed Hope issue over a cup of coffee. Bottom line: just live for christ, enjoy your life and share your faith. Your rapture comes when you die and are taken up into the presence of God.
We just do not know how bad things will get leading up to the rapture, so people still need to stock up. This does not mean that a person has a weak faith. It means not allowing yourself or your family to be put in a position of not being able to buy food and other essentials. Example: Right now the big issue is the push for making getting the vaccine a requirement for going into a store or business. There are many reasons for not taking the vaccine which any well informed person knows. It is not “safe and effective” for everyone! Those who do not have a “vaccine passport” as proof that they have taken the vaccine could be faced with a necessity to be well stocked up and on their own, unless the rapture occurs before it gets to that point. And yes, the mask wearing and vaccine is only part of a much broader scenario leading up to the Tribulation Period.
I would say you are correct but only to a certain extent. We do know for a fact that the world will still be operating under “business as usual” before the Rapture. This means that catastrophic events disrupting trade and shortages of basic necessities will not be an issue. The proof text for this comes in Matthew 24:37-39. I think you are right though in regard to being prepared for short term events.
It’s difficult to define business as usual, especially when people have been dying alone without family, weddings postponed, concerts and public events unattended during Covid. I think there is room for shortages of food, etc before the Rapture.
Question: With humility and respect, you speak that a Matt 24:37-39 is a proof text for peace and prosperity before the rapture, but how do you reconcile Matt 24:6-14 when Jesus says there will be famines and earthquakes in various places? Also Jesus says his disciples will be persecuted. The reference to the days of Noah is interesting because Noah did prepare ahead of time both spiritually and physically. Would it not be wise to prepare both spiritually and physically for future persecution? Thank you.
Nowhere do I remember saying there will be “peace and prosperity” at the time of Rapture. I did write that it will be business pretty well as usual with no world-wide collapse, according to Jesus’ days of Noah and days of Lot prophecy in Matthew 24: 36-42 and Luke 17: 26-30.
There is no catastrophic collapse mentioned by the Lord. He did say that Judgment will fall the day He is next revealed. Time will be just like in the days of Noah and the days of Lot.
Read again what was going on at the time just before the flood of Noah’s time. Everything was apparently doing well in the world so far as life in general and from an economic perspective. Of course it was a time of violence and that was totally debauched. The world was corrupted to the point that the inhabitants had all turned their back on God.
In Lot’s day, business was apparently booming. Lot, himself, apparently occupied an important position in the city of Sodom. However, again, all had turned their backs on God and the society was totally debauched. The Judgment came the moment Lot and his family were removed by the angel to Zoar.
Jesus tells us that at the time of His intervention (His revealing) things will be just like in those times. That will be the time of Rapture. It will take the rebellious world totally by surprise. “Like a snare it will come upon the whole world,” we are told.
Jesus did say that there will be famine, earthquakes, etc. He was talking about a great increase in these the closer to His Second Advent the world comes. These will have their full realization once He calls the church in the Rapture and the 21 judgments begin to roll out after Antichrist confirms the covenant (Daniel 9: 26-27).
And yes. I do believe it is wise to prepare for emergencies. But we are not told to look for going through terrible times such as will be the times of Daniel’s 70th week.
We aren’t told to look for Antichrist, but for Jesus Christ. (Titus 2: 13; Luke 21: 28).
One of the problems with trying to convince someone of the pretrib rapture has to do with the lack of a dispensational understanding of the Word of God. If you’ve never been taught the feast days, the dispensations, the seven churches, the tabernacle, priesthood and offerings, the covenants, the resurrections and judgments, it will be impossible to understand why there is a pretrib rapture. Many have never been taught there is a gap between the Cross and the Crown. Many pastors have no understanding of Bible typology which also helps with this problem. I have a small booklet on the rapture that explains a lot of this. I’ve ran into this on some of my forums where individuals would just copy and paste someone else’s position without really understanding this for themselves.

It seems that not understanding the reality of a Pre-Trib rapture is more than a problem of eschatology…it is a problem of theology. The Rapture and its timing involves God’s character and His Word.
Would a righteous, just (and loving) God, who clearly accepted the efficacious sacrifice of His Son for all those who believe, make His Church an exception to His own promises of full atonement AND complete remediation of their sins – past, present and future, and instead sentence His Church to endure His Wrath, which falls heavily on the unbelieving world? Did Christ pay the full price of redemption, or not? Is God just or not? Is God faithful to His Word, or not? These are the questions detractors of the Pre-Trib Rapture must answer.
We, the USA, deserve and are facing judgment. (In 1976, John R Price wrote AMERICA AT THE CROSSROADS in the effort to get the people to repent of allowing abortion. America didn’t, which resulted in the blood of millions upon millions of aborted children.) I won’t list the other growing horrors. The country deserves judgment. Our Father God judged His children Israel multiple times. There is a difference, though, between judgment of a country and The Wrath. American Christians may be here for His actions of judgment (and we have probably already experienced some judgments) but it is our Blessed Hope to be harvested unto Him before The Wrath.

For years, Terry James and others have clearly explained why the concept of the Rapture is a valid one. The problem is, if someone has firmly made up his or her mind not to accept the facts and reasoning, no amount of evidence will convince such a person to change their opinion.
Consider this: Despite all the evidence that Jesus actually rose from the dead, most of the world refuses to believe that, either. I see the task of believers is to put the information out there and after that, our responsibility is at an end and our time will be better spent encouraging each other rather than wasting our time on ears that will not hear.

Anyone that want to prepare and store up food and amenities for the sake of preparing for tribulation period isn’t totally ready for rapture. Those are Thomas and doubters. Luke 12:7 but the very hair of your head are all numbered, fear not. You are of more value than the sparrow. I will suggest those who plan to store up to read the whole of Luke chapter 12.
The question is, are you ready to face the judge of the whole earth? Have you shown love to everyone and not only to the people you know that are of same colour like you are. Have you shown love to foreigner who are not same colour as you are?
We all want the rapture and a saviour to appear. It’s a day of wrath and sorrow. Better search your heart as no one can deceive God the father. As he said, on that day, not all that calls me lord shall enter into the Kingdom of God but those that does the will of the father. The will of the father is to love everyone as he first loved you.

I have attended an Evangelical church for the last 40 years. Recently I have felt a check in my spirit that the pastor and leadership have been leaning toward some doctrines that are “new” to me so I have been “woken up” so to speak. Besides allowing Bethel Church Sozo ministry to run and Andrew Wommack’s Charis Healing University to be facilitated, I have been made aware that my lead pastor believes that “as it was in the days of Noah” means that the unrighteous will be swept – not believers taken to heaven. He also believes that “the tribulation may well refer to a coming event – it most certainly referred to the Roman persecution of the church” but not like we believe the Great Tribulation will be about. He believes that it is a “story” written for the Jews at the time He said that ” we need to get a grip on the idea of us not flying away someday into space somewhere and that the rapture is not found in scripture the way people often talk about it.” He has recommended that I read NT Wright, ” Surprised by Hope” and Ben Witherington, “Imminent Domain” but the more I read from these two or hear about them on Youtube, the more confused and concerned I get. I have the sense that although they may be very “intellectual”, I may be getting exposed to false teachers/teaching. Any thoughts to share with me?
Read your Bible and pray over your desire to understand God’s truth in these matters. Sincerely seek the Holy Spirit’s Guidance and revelation and you will receive it.
I sense you are already receiving some of this counsel from God’s throne room.
Read, particularly 1 Corinthians 15: 51-55 and 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18. See how Paul’s Inspired words about that twinkling of an eye moment he mentions resonate in your spiritual understanding.
Then consider the words of 2 Peter 3:3-4 about mockers coming in the last days about this very matter of Christ’s return and rapture.

There are many who believe the above because they believe Matt 24-25 was written to Israel, not to the Church–and it is addressing the 2nd coming. They say this passage is not addressing the Rapture at all, and it’s possible they are right. Jesus had not even hinted at a rapture until a couple of days later at the last supper (John 14:1-3)–that is, a couple of days after he gave the disciples the Olivet Discourse. But such people still believe in the Rapture of the Church as a separate event from the 2nd coming–they still believe in a pre-Trib rapture.
But it sounds as if your pastor doesn’t believe in a Rapture at all, which is a different story. He is totally contradicting scripture, if so.
