The Number-One Signal

Most Christians who have seriously studied Bible prophecy for years have given Israel as the number-one signal to watch for.

This has been especially true since the Jewish people—hated, hunted, and murdered throughout millennia, and finally killed by the millions in the Nazi Holocaust—came back into the Promised Land following World War II in 1948.

Many among the Reformed denominations joined the Catholic Church in writing off the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as having any further rights to the promises God made. Obviously, in this collective view, God had given up on them. Their rejection and crucifixion of His Son had, in the minds of these religionists, negated any rights Israel had as a nation.

When the Jews miraculously became a nation again in the area surrounding Jerusalem, the chosen people suddenly took on tremendous prophetic importance in the eyes of those who looked diligently into the study of end-times things.

Although attacked on every side from the time they were reborn as a nation, Israel not only survived, but grew and prospered as no other people of the Middle East. The land began to bloom like a garden–which was, in fact, fulfilling a prediction from God’s Word about what would happen to the land of promise anytime the chosen people occupied it.

Major assaults against the Jewish state in 1956, 1967, and 1973 only proved God’s Word to be infallible. The nation won against all odds in those wars and sent their hate-filled enemies scurrying away in painful defeat.

But, just as God’s Word also prophesies, the assaults, although of somewhat lesser virulence, have continued to thrust at Israel, as we’ve all seen very recently.

Israel remains at the center of nations in a conflict the would-be, world-governing peace purveyors fear will result in World War III and nuclear Armageddon. These minions, who I am convinced make up the human element of the Ephesians 6:12 wickedness we struggle against, no longer hide their satanically-fostered hatred for God’s chosen nation. They strive to turn all of earth’s peoples against the Jewish state. The following illustrates the point.

GENEVA, June 3 (Reuters) – A group of United Nations experts called on Monday for all countries to recognise a Palestinian state to ensure peace in the Middle East.

The call came less than a week after Spain, Ireland and Norway officially recognised a Palestinian state, prompting anger from Israel, which has found itself increasingly isolated after nearly eight months of war in Gaza.

The experts, including the U.N. Special Rapporteur on the human rights situation in the Palestinian territories, said recognition of a Palestinian state was an important acknowledgement of the rights of the Palestinian people and their struggle towards freedom and independence…

Israel has repeatedly condemned moves to recognise a Palestinian state, saying they bolster Hamas, the militant Islamist group that led the deadly Oct. 7 attack on Israel which sparked the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip. (“UN experts urge all countries to recognise Palestinian statehood,” Reuters, 6/3/24)

Anger and threats similar to those in Germany in the 1930s are again being heard in Europe and around the world.

EJA Chairman Rabbi Menachem Margolin opened the meeting with a stark message. “We are in a fight for the continuation of Jewish life in Europe,” he said. “Jews wearing traditional clothing or displaying mezuzahs on their doors are facing relentless harassment. Jewish students are receiving threats on their lives and being excluded from university courses, while hate graffiti defaces Jewish homes, synagogues and cemeteries without any deterrent.” (“Leading rabbi warns mass exodus of Jews from Europe to Israel may be imminent,” Rapture Ready News, 6/4/24)

The buildup is accelerating toward the time Jesus said would be a period of trouble unlike anything that’s ever been. He placed Israel at the center of that time of Tribulation.

Watch Israel and the world’s increasingly hate-filled treatment of its people. This is the number-one signal that shows definitively where we are on God’s prophetic timeline.

This means Jesus Christ is about to step out on the clouds of Glory and call believers (the Church) to Himself.

You want to go to Christ when He says “Come up here!”

Planet Earth, following the Rapture, will descend into the time of horrors depicted in the book of Revelation. Here is how to avoid that most terrible time of human history:

That if you will confess with your mouth the lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)

The UN demanding Israel cooperate with their plans for “Peace and Safety” is the same as demanding chickens attend a dinner hosted by wolves who are serving Flying Jacob (a Swedish casserole with chicken as it’s primary ingredient.) It is absurd.

I have many Jewish friends. There are some things I have observed about them: they are on the whole incredibly intelligent, they are loyal, hardworking, shrewd, devoted to their families, and protective. Their primary flaw is not honoring their God-given relationship to YHWH and the benefits He’s poured out, and continues to pour out, upon them. (I am not judging them, it is very clear they are already judged and have suffered terribly for their rejection of Jesus Christ, their Messiah.)

Like all of us who are blind and lost in sin, they do not want to turn from their ways…yet. But God has promised to bring them back to Himself. We are front row witnesses to the staggering, prophesied, preparation of the soon fulfillment of His promises. How blessed we are to know what is underway. Jesus said to Peter that his declaration of Him as the Messiah “was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven” so the revelation of what is now happening is revealed to us by God Himself. Those who aren’t saved and don’t have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, can not recognize Truth. They can see things aren’t right, and some even suspect something supernatural is afoot, but they just don’t understand. (Similar to the onlookers with Saul/Paul when He met our Lord on the road to Damascus. They heard a great noise, and saw a blinding light, but they didn’t understand.)

It is easy to dismiss the sinful state of humanity and declare it to be ‘normal’ because we are awash in it and can’t see ourselves apart from its effect. For example, a fish doesn’t know that it is wet (still one of the best analogies.) Without God’s intervention, no one stops to wonder if this condition IS normal, if we are all born to remain in this condition. Praise God that He sent His Word and His Son to open our eyes to show us how far from His original design we have fallen.

Before I was saved I never considered how lost I was, or how enormously our sins perverted God’s universe and His plan for us, His greatest creation. The past few years, as we’ve witness the devolution of the whole world, I somewhat understand now that sin is so egregious, it has permeated everything in existence. It requires a massive plan to eliminate it, and God graciously revealed that plan to us. God could have erased everything and started over, it certainly would have been easier and much less painful for Him to do so. But He loves us deeply and wants to rescue us from the devastation of our sins. If anyone has gone all-in on us, it is our Triune God.

So, the least we can do is to endure, and while we wait, to share His rescue plan (the gospel) with others. The time is growing incredibly short. There is nothing standing between the call for us from Jesus in the clouds, followed by the ghastly judgment that is coming upon the whole world.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem and for God’s will to be done. And it will.

Many of the newspapers have been running anti-Israel op-eds and I have successfully had letters printed which responded to many of them. I pointed out that:

    A. There never was a nation of “Palestine.” It is merely the name given to the geographical area by the Roman emperor Hadrian circa 130 A.D. after the bar -Kochba rebellion. He chose that as an insult to the Jews, naming after their ancestral Philistine enemies – who, by the way were NOT Arabs but came from the Aegean Sea area, circa 12th Century B.C.

    B. The conflict in the Middle East was NEVER about land, but the total annihilation of Israel, an objective clearly stated in the Hamas Charter and the government of its sponsor Iran (e.g “Death to Israel,” “Death to America” – because we supported Israel, but sadly, not well during the Obama and Biden administrations).

    C. Colleges need a serious house-cleaning because most of them are nothing but antisemitic, woke propaganda factories.

This shows the readers of these papers that not everyone is ignorant of the situation as it really is and will hopefully give them facts that rarely see the light of day.

Good for you Ed, that’s quite commendable.

I just read an article that exposes CNN as almost entirely funded by Quatar…which would explain how they remain operational. No one watches them anymore. They promote America, and Israel, hatred at every turn. CNN hasn’t been profitable in forever, so how else to explain their continued existence?! They are one of Satan’s mouthpieces.

And many American schools and universities receive significant endowments by Muslim and Chinese nations. Along with our willingness to sell our land, and businesses, along with the obvious purchase of our ‘elected officials’ and our educational and court systems, we are more rotted than most would believe.

It is clear to me God is holding everything together, for His perfect timing.

      Maranatha!

        Thanks, Robin.

The whole core of just about everything that made America great has just been undermined by our own elite who got rich here and yet don’t miss an opportunity to stick a knife in its back.

And thanks for your thoughtful comment that you just posted above because it tells it exactly like it is. By being immersed in the growing evil, people’s consciences have become “seared” as Paul put it so well (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

This has not limited itself to the secular world only, but has swallowed up most of the modern church as well, which should have known better. The Bible has provided all the warnings for over 2000 years and they have either gone unread or unheeded.

I’m glad we chose to “be in the know” so, tough as this is to watch, we know why these things are happening and that our redemption is very, very near!

        God bless!

We can sympathize with the unredeemed. They can’t be expected to know…well…anything really. But it is downright crazy to see how lost the ‘Church’ is today. As Spurgeon observed 135+ years ago, “…the preaching of Christ usually ceases when these frivolities come in. These things are so opposed in spirit, that one or the other will have to be dropped; and we know which it will be.” Indeed we know today, as we see videos and articles of so-called services that are purely evil, utterly and openly blasphemous. It’s hard to stomach. Another undeniable sign of the Last Days.

Regularly I remind myself that Terry has laid out the defense of the Bible, saying things will be ‘normal’ until we are called up. Trusting this, I’m increasingly astonished that the wheels have not come off the world’s wagon. There is only one explanation for it, it is our Holy, Holy, Holy God holding it all together. We live in times of great miracles and encroaching abominations.

    God bless you too, Ed.
