Nothing brings clearer definition to the stage being set for Bible prophecy than the issues and events swirling around God’s chosen nation.
At the moment, Israel is exacting a heavy price for atrocities perpetrated by Iran’s proxy terrorist organizations. The most recent is the assassination of murderous terrorist leaders in Beirut and Teheran. Especially troubling is Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh being blown up with a detonation in his room.
The attack was at first thought to be a drone strike by Israel; now it’s been found to be an explosive device inside Haniyeh’s bedroom, I take it. The occurrence was said to be an “inside job.”
Regardless, Israel is seen as being responsible for the assassination, and no doubt that is a correct assumption.
Haniyeh is said to be responsible for planning and implementing the attack and murder of twelve children as they played soccer, when a rocket‘s warhead exploded on the field. The act so enraged Israel’s government that they broke away from their normal ways of retaliation, going not to a proxy nation, but straight to Teheran to take out the head terrorist.
At first it seemd that the explosive was planted in Haniyeh’s room two months in advance of its detonation, and was ignited only when he was known to be occupying that space. This would indicate almost prescient thinking on behalf of Israel’s assassination units, and the thought of that foreknowledge apparently had the terrorists and their associate evil regime in Iran going a bit nutso. It has now been said that the explosive was placed there only two days before the detonation.
The ayatollahs and others say it is an act of war, with Israel striking directly into Iran. It opens up a new level of hostility, and Iran’s regime threatens all-out war.
In view of all this, the Biden administration has sent naval ships in that direction in anticipation of a greatly expanded conflict in the region.
It is interesting to see that things are ramping up between Israel and its blood-vowed enemy, Iran, with this unprecedented attack by Israel against Iran itself. At the same time, another nation-state actor that’s part of the coalition that will comprise the Gog-Magog assault has interjected an equally fascinating element that brings that prophecy into ever-sharpening focus.
Turkey’s leader on Sunday threatened military intervention in Israel to stop Jerusalem’s war in Gaza in a significant escalation of rhetoric from NATO’s second-largest military.
In a meeting with his Justice and Development Party (AKP), President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Turkey “must be very strong so that Israel can’t do these ridiculous things to Palestine.”
“Just like we entered Karabakh, just like we entered Libya, we might do similar to them,” he said, according to a Reuters report.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz came back swinging and suggested Erdoğan would meet a similarly deadly fate as Iraq’s former president, Saddam Hussein, who was executed by hanging in 2006.
“Erdoğan follows in the footsteps of Saddam Hussein and threatens to attack Israel. Just let him remember what happened there and how it ended,” Katz said in a message posted to X that included a picture of Erdoğan and the former Iraqi leader. The Turkish dictator Recep Tayyip Erdoğan thus makes clearer how Togarmah, regarded as the geographical area of current-day Turkey by prophetic scholars, is moving into the Ezekiel 38–39 alliance. This movement has been growing for some time since Erdoğan took over as president of the country. Turkey, a member of NATO, has been moving more and more into the orbit of Iran and Russia and spewing hateful rhetoric against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Jewish state.
This has caused a number of legislators within the US and the European Union that are part of NATO to call for kicking Turkey out of the organization.
This call for Israel’s punishment by Turkey is seen as unprecedented by a NATO member, following the dastardly murders, rapes, and other evil perpetrated by Hamas against Israel October 7, 2023. Clearly this further sets the stage for the end of the age and the beginning of the Tribulation (Daniel’s seventieth week).
Everything for the Tribulation and the Rapture, which will proceed that terrible time, is tightening into focus as we continue to view things through the prism of God’s prophetic Word.

And yet another player is ready to come on stage, this time it is Turkey. Before blaming Israel, it would be a very good idea to see if Haniyeh had enemies “closer to home.” Of course, such an investigation will likely never happen because the truth is the last thing the world wants now.
I would not be surprised to find Haniyeh had lots of Muslim enemies because these fanatics are not above hating other Muslims. Check out what Shi-ites and Sunni’s think of each other and you will see what I mean.
If there are no Jewish or Christian “infidels” around to hate, they go after each other.
As a result, we clearly see that the Arab world is terrified of Iran.
Even Iran’s residents can’t stand its own government because it habitually preys on them, too.
I believe Turkey may have let the cat out of the bag prematurely in similar fashion to Hamas on October 7th. In their hatred of Israel and the Jewish people it appear they can not contain themselves. I believe the October 7th invasion by Hamas was to be a coordinated attack along with various other proxy militias of Iran (Persia). The coordination involved and the training suggests other regional players involved behind the scenes.
We know that Hezbollah has been training for years to seize the “unwalled villages” or Kibbutz of the upper Gallilee and take captives in like manner of Hamas. Hezbollah, though trained by IRGC laisons has had extensive training with Russian forces as well. Iran, Hezbollah, and Russia have coordinated together for more than a decade in the Syrian Civil War. Turkey has also been involved in Syria as well. It might not be a figment of imagination to suggest they are fully coordinating today!
With Hamas jumping the gun, it has complicated things for them as the hidden regional planners must now become more engaged with the United States involved directly. Iran, Russia, and Turkey must now factor in this strategic element which requires greater planning and coordination. To accomplish their goals they will have to engage the United States militarily. In such a hostile environment as many in the region having been recipients of U.S. bombing campaigns, this task may not prove difficult. Perhaps, they have waited anxiously for such a moment.
Israel is actively gathering intelligence in the north (Hezbollah) and the east (Iran), yet there remains another area not in their scopes. Africa has active IRGC units, Shiite militias, Russia, and Turkish elements scattered throughout. Libya, Sudan, Niger, Chad, Burkina Faso, and Mali just to name a few. It would be wise for Israel to consider these elements as well. As we know, many of these will also join in the Gog/Magog coalition. These are indeed troubling times yet we know how it ends for all of these in the Valley of Hamongog.
I find it interesting that some Scholars suggest that Gog/Magog can not happen now because the United States has gathered a significant military presence in the region! While this is true regarding the military presence, Ezekiel the Prophet identifies with their being in the region at the time of the invasion.
“Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?”- Ezekiel 38:13.
Of course, we know that Sheba and Dedan historically is Saudi Arabia and possibly the U.A.E., Merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions represent Western Europe and their former colonies (young lions). This would no doubt include the United States of America. These powers clearly witness firsthand the Gog/Magog coalition assemble on the borders of Israel and inquire of their intentions.
Aside from this fact, what many Scholars seem to dismiss is the fact that it is God that gathers the Gog/Magog coalition against His people Israel.
“And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. Thus saith the Lord God; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?”- Ezekiel 38:16,17.
It would appear, that even the mighty United States of America and their allies, can not contend with the sovereign will of God to declare His Glory to His people Israel and to all the nations! The Lord God is calling to Israel to remember the God of their salvation, and it is certain that they will!
“So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward”- Ezekiel 39:22.
