Upon reading the words, we wonder where such people come from. Even the most virulent among the earth’s populations surely could not be so anti-God as to be so rebellious–not after having gone through such excruciating punishment in God’s call to repentance for that extended period.

And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. (Revelation 16: 8-11)

We witness on an hour-by-hour basis governments of the world shaping in ways predicted by God’s prophetic Word for the last days of this dispensation. Although some leaders are absolute tyrants, like those who are in charge of Russia, China, North Korea, etc., many leaders, particularly those in the Western Hemisphere, believe they are working for the good of their people. This, despite the fact that they are, in some cases, following the evil philosophy of Karl Marx and other wicked people of the past.

There are some signs appearing that people, especially in America, are beginning to awaken just a bit to the evil being perpetrated, particularly upon our very youngest children. Yet there continues to be much tolerance in terms of unsavory and oppressive societal and cultural atmospherics.

Teachers at the most primary levels are teaching the insanity that involves gender redirection. (Boys can be girls, and girls can be boys if they so choose. They don’t have to be of the sex God directed). Homosexual lifestyle is lauded and propagated as preferable in many ways to heterosexuality.

The American educational system, both private and public, is largely at the heart of the problem. Teachers from kindergarten through the highest levels of academia have themselves been inculcated to the ways spawned by satanic influence. We now endure the results of that in quite disturbing ways. Some are teaching sexual activity to 5 year old’s.  Almost without exception, as a general rule, professors hold to anti-God views and teach that Christianity and biblical education are simply stories at best and farcical fantasy in the worst cases.

And that is the nucleus of the matter I wish to address here. It might go a long way toward answering the question posed above: We wonder where such people come from.

We can’t imagine a people being so rebellious and so angry that they will hide themselves in the caves of earth and shake their fists in the face of the God they know has the power and intention to have them repent or perish. Those people are today presenting themselves for all to see. Those, such as the ones presented in the following excerpt, seem to be of the mindset of those described in Revelation 16 above.

The article has salacious language, not that of the writer, but reported by her. I have, of course, kept that out of this piece. It is quite eye-opening how young adults within much of higher education are being shaped as those whom God’s Word calls earth dwellers.

A series of jokes and banners published and hung at Hamilton College recently has upset some observers who argue anti-Christian sentiments fester at the small, New York-based private liberal arts institution.

Most recently, a student satire publication called the Duel Observer published a mock article on campus newsstands during Holy Week that replaced Jesus Christ’s blood with his [word omitted] then joked “it will still give us everlasting life.”

The satire piece ends with a description of an explosion that destroys the “Rosary Club,” the name of a real student group on campus.

On Tuesday, student athletes also hung a banner (pictured) in the dining hall advertising an upcoming tennis match that used for inspiration the Last Supper mural by Leonardo da Vinci. [The mural displayed the opposing team and coach and had salacious words mocking the last supper and the opposing players.]

The Hamilton College student who provided the images to The College Fix is Devin Mendelson, 22, a senior at the school who founded the Rosary Club last November.

Mendelson said his club has upset some of his peers and campus leaders because of its strong defense of the unborn and traditional marriage. Administrators suspended his club’s email account for nearly three weeks in March, he said…

Robert Paquette, president of the Alexander Hamilton Institute, said in an interview with The College Fix that the various items Mendelson highlighted are “disturbing to say the least.”

“Never would this kind of imagery be tolerated if it were directed at Muslims, gays, transgenders, or feminists.”

Paquette said what Mendelson and his club has faced is troubling.

“This young man on campus is trying to start a Rosary Club and this has brought out the woke activists in abundance,” he said. “They have become gross and insulting, and they appear to want to defeat the young man’s purpose, and the administration does not seem to be doing much about it.”

Paquette taught history at Hamilton for almost 40 years, but quit in 2018 to work at the Hamilton Institute fulltime.

“I’d had enough with the leftward lurch of Hamilton College,” he said.

Paquette also knows what it’s like to be roasted by the Duel Observer. He provided The College Fix with an issue from 2013 in which students mocked the former professor for defending intellectual diversity. I’m not lauding here the Catholic system; however, it is saddening and tragic to know that this sort of mocking God and His desire to see all men, women, and children come to Him in repentance is a prevalent activity among the nation’s colleges and universities. Obviously, according to prophetic Scripture, there will be those whose hearts have become so callous, so wickedly rebellious, that they can do no other than shake their fist in the face of the only person through whom they can be saved from eternity apart from their Creator.

But there is yet time before those terrible years of Tribulation begin. In this pre-Rapture time we call the Age of Grace, there is still time to repent and have the rebellious heart changed into belief that trusts in the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Here, again, is how one can avoid being a part of the Tribulation population destined for God’s judgment and wrath.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10)

 

The questions and answers that follow were part of an interview conducted by Pastor Billy Crone. My prayerful hope is that it will help believers be always ready to answer those who question why we believe Jesus will call the Church to Himself before the Tribulation begins.

1. What is the biblical basis for a Rapture?

• Jesus’ words in John 14:1–3
• Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians 15:51—5
• Paul’s first letter to the Thessolonians 4: 13-18
• 2 Thessalonians chapter 2—“Departure”
• Revelation 3: 10

2. What do you see is the purpose of the Rapture?

• To keep Christ’s Bride, the Church, out of the time of testing or Tribulation
• To separate God’s prophetic programs for the Church from those for Israel.

3. How would you respond to those who say that the word “rapture” does not appear in the Bible?

Neither do the word “Trinity” or “Bible.” The evidence is clear: the doctrine of Rapture is there in the total context of a number of scriptural references.

The Greek [word for rapture] is harpazo, for “catching up” or “snatching.” Later, the Latin Vulgate put it as raptura, from which the word “rapture” comes. 

4. What are the benefits of the doctrine of imminency?

The prime benefit is that imminency should encourage all believers to always be ready for Christ’s any-moment intervention into the affairs of fallen man. It should make people want to live righteously. “Be ye always ready, for in a time ye think not, the son of man cometh”—Matthew 24:44.

5. How would you respond to those who say, “There is not one verse in the Bible that supports the pre-Trib position of the Rapture”?

I would say, “You are incorrect.” Revelation 3:10 is a promise to Church Age believers to be kept out of the Tribulation. Additionally, there are a number of verses that make the case for a pre-Trib Rapture.

The best single verse to indicate a pre-Trib Rapture is Revelation 3: 10. Second Thessalonians 2:3 is another passage that strongly indicates believers will be raptured before the Tribulation. 

6. What precisely does Paul mean when he says that “the falling away” (2:3) must come before the Tribulation?

(Note: The Greek word apostasia is used as asfestimi in this instance of “falling away.” It means a spatial departure rather than a departure from faith.) The definite article “the” denotes that this will be a definite event, an event distinct from the appearance of the Man of Sin. The Greek word for “falling away,” taken by itself, does not mean religious apostasy or defection. Neither does the word mean “to fall,” as the Greeks have another word for that. [pipto, “I fall”; TDI].

The best translation of the word is “to depart.” The Apostle Paul refers here to a definite event which he calls “the departure,” and which will occur just before the start of the Tribulation. This is the Rapture of the Church. So the word has the core meaning of “departure,” and it depends upon the context to determine whether it is used to mean physical departure or an abstract departure, such as departure from the faith.

[Translation History—The first seven English translations of apostasia all rendered the noun as either  “departure” or “departing.” They are as follows: Wycliffe Bible (1384); Tyndale Bible (1526); Coverdale Bible (1535); Cranmer Bible (1539); Breeches Bible (1576); Beza Bible (1583); Geneva Bible (1608).] 

This supports the notion that the word truly means “departure.” In fact, Jerome’s Latin translation known as the Vulgate, from around the time of AD 400, renders apostasia with the word discessio, meaning “departure.”

7. Where in the Bible do you see the Church absent from the seven-year Tribulation?

Revelation 3: 10 is part of the first three chapters of the Revelation. The Church is addressed nineteen times through chapter 3. The voice is heard saying “Come up here!” at the beginning of chapter 4. The saints of the Church Age aren’t mentioned again until Christ returns with the saints in Revelation 19:11.

8. How would you respond to those who say the seven-year Tribulation does not include a full seven years of God’s wrath?

Daniel the prophet said that from the decree going forth to rebuild the wall and the sanctuary (Temple), seventy weeks (prophetic weeks—490 years) are determined on “thy people”—Israel.

Antichrist (the “prince that shall come,” will confirm the covenant for one prophetic week (seven years) of that seventy-weeks prophecy. That last week of seven years will begin with a covenant made by Antichrist. Daniel’s prophecy tells of the peace that will destroy many—Daniel 8:25, Isaiah 28:15–18—for one week. That is, seven prophetic days (or seven years in Daniel’s 490 years prophecy) from when the command went forth to rebuild the city and sanctuary. Daniel 9: 27 indicates this sets in motion the final seven years leading to Armageddon and Christ’s return—the Tribulation era, the last three and one half of which will be “Great” Tribulation (Matthew 24:21, Jeremiah 30:7).

When this “prince” comes riding forth on the white horse offering peace (Revelation 6:1), the seals have been opened and the last seven years run their course from that point.

9. How would you respond to those who say that the pre-Trib position is unfair?

God is sovereign. He alone can determine what His program for the consummation of human history will be. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for the sin of mankind, that anyone who believes in Him, according to John 3: 16 and Romans 10:9–10, can have eternal life.

The Rapture is part of His plan for humanity. It is up to humanity to accept His plan, not the other way around—i.e., God adjusting to fit what mankind might consider “fair.”

Also, Romans chapter 1 says that all have been given light for achieving escape from God’s judgment. They are “without excuse.”

10. How would you respond to those who say that the pre-Trib position encourages laziness?

Everyone I know who truly studies God’s Word and believes the pre-Trib view it presents are busy carrying out the Great Commission and trying to live a life worthy of being Christ’s followers. The doctrine of imminency should make Christians aware of the times and have them looking for their Lord’s sudden appearance (Titus 2: 13). 

I say without reservation that the pre-Trib view of the Rapture makes the true student of Bible prophecy much more aware of Christ’s coming again and what that entails. That creates enthusiasm to hear the words “Well done, good, faithful servant” from Jesus when He appears.

11. How would you respond to those who say the pre-Trib position is teaching a “secret” Rapture?

I don’t know why they call it a “secret.” Paul was very plain and thorough in showing this “mystery.” Jesus first gave it as recorded in John 14:1–3. This is the “mystery” Paul made clear. It’s right there in the Scripture. It’s no secret.

It will be a total shock and surprise to those who don’t know Christ, the Bible says. It will come as a “thief in the night” to the lost. Unfortunately, it will come as a shock to most Christians, too. But, they are going to Christ when He calls anyway.

Also, Jesus, in the “days of Noah, days of Lot” passages of Matthew 24:36–42 and Luke 17:26–30, which is a Rapture reference, says it will be a time when He is “revealed.” This is not a secret coming. Everyone will know something major has just occurred.

12. How would you respond to those who say that the pre-Trib position is a “recent” teaching and therefore must be rejected?

Again, I go back to the Apostle Paul, who plainly taught it as recorded in His second letter to the Thessalonians (chapter 2). Also, a number of the early church fathers made reference to their belief in a pre-Trib view. 

13. How would you respond to those who say that John Darby is the one who came up with the pre-Trib Rapture?

Jesus came up with it. Paul revealed the mystery the disciples didn’t know at the time. John Darby turned it into a systematic presentation/study.

14. How would you respond to those who say that John Darby received the idea of a pre-Trib Rapture from Margaret McDonald?

According to the history of the matter, letters show that Darby wrote about the Rapture in 1827 while recovering from a riding accident, and that Margaret McDonald’s supposed visions weren’t given until 1830.

15. How would you respond to those who say the Church is in Matthew 24?

I would say that Jesus is talking about the Rapture, which involves the Church, in Matthew 24:36–42. That is the “days of Noah, days of Lot” prophecy.

He talks, in that Olivet Discourse chapter, about His coming again at “an hour ye think not.” Both of these prophecies have to, in my view, be addressed to the Church.

The Lord could not have been talking about His coming at a business-as-usual time like is indicated in the “days of Noah and Lot” prophecy when addressing the Second Advent. As much as three-fourths of the earth’s population will have died during the previous seven years of that period. It will not be business as usual during the Tribulation.

Tribulation saints will be able to count down to the exact time the Lord is returning, [thus] Jesus’ words about “in a time you think not” (Matthew 24:44). 

16. What are your biggest issues with—and why do you disagree with—the post-Trib position?

Because it’s not in the Bible. The pre-Trib position is taught by Paul and makes the best total sense of the whole matter. It is the position that brings everything into logical perspective.

The best argument against it is that the Bible plainly presents a Millennial Reign of Christ. It also plainly teaches that flesh and blood must be in that kingdom to procreate, because there will be peoples as ubiquitous as “the sands of the sea.”

If all believers are lifted to be with Christ at the end of the Tribulation, they are no longer flesh and blood, but flesh and bone. They are in their translated bodies like Jesus. They are perfect, and at any rate, do not procreate in Heaven, according to Jesus’ own words on marriage and the activity of Heaven’s citizenry.

All left on earth when Christ returns, if all believers were raptured at the end of that era, would be lost, thus would be cast into “outer darkness” at the sheep/goats judgment of Matthew 25.

No one would be left to populate the earth. Jesus says there will be flesh-and-blood people left after the sheep/goats judgment to repopulate the millennial earth.

17. What are your biggest issues with—and why do you disagree with—the pre-Wrath position?

Because I believe the word of God puts forth that not just the last three and one-half years, but the full seven years of the Tribulation, Daniel’s Seventieth Week, is the wrath of God upon the rebels of planet earth.

Daniel 9:26–27 presents that with the confirming of the covenant by the prince that shall come. The last seven years will from that point on be an era that will punish the anti-God masses. It says of Antichrist and those final years, “and for the overspreading of abominations, he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

Revelation chapter 6 presents Antichrist as coming on the scene after the opening of the first seal. He confirms the covenant God says is made with “death and hell.” it is this agreement with Antichrist to be the world’s savior that invokes the wrath of God. It occurs at the very beginning of the seven years—Daniel’s Seventieth Week.

18. What are your biggest issues with—and why do you disagree with—the mid-Trib position?

Because, with the opening of the first seal, the wrath of God begins with the confirming of the covenant of false peace at the very beginning of Daniel’s Seventieth Week, as explained above. Jesus promised that believers (His Church) will be kept out of the very time of that era of God’s wrath (Revelation 3:10).

Believers of the Church Age cannot go through even one hour of that terrible time.

19. What are your biggest issues with—and why do you disagree with—a partial-Rapture position?

My primary reason is that the Apostle Paul, in the 1 Corinthians and 1 Thessalonian prophecies of the Rapture, uses the word “all.” He uses in conjunction the pronoun “we” (meaning all believers in Christ). He didn’t say “some,” He said “all.” He says we shall “all be changed.” There is no room in that prophecy for some to go and some to be left behind when it comes to born-again believers.

20. What kind of a response have you received and/or encountered with those who disagree with the pre-Trib position?

I receive weekly very harsh words, some even accusing me of leading people to Hell. They most always say to begin with that they once believed in the pre-Trib view but have, after reading what the Bible says, now believe in another view.

They also accuse us who teach the pre-Trib view as causing people to not recognize Antichrist when he comes on the scene.

Most of the email I get from these are angry, but they start off asking questions. As soon as I respond to their questions, they begin telling me that I am wrong—and are quite angry with their words.

21. What would you encourage those who disagree with the pre-Trib position to do differently in how they handle the varying positions on the Rapture?

I would encourage them to be more civil in their opposition. Most don’t back up their claims with relevant passages.

I would encourage them to study and pray earnestly over the Scriptures on the matter and stop reading books only by those who are anti-Rapture writers.

These always want to debate. I would advise them to stop seeking to debate those of us who know the pre-Trib view to be truth from God’s Word, and instead just teach their views, if they are that convicted.

I no longer debate, but teach, the pre-Trib view to those who truly want to know what the Scriptures say about the Rapture.

China, to my way of analysis, is shaping to become the entity prophetically designated the king of the kings of the east.

The leadership of the CCP hasn’t been asleep while the Biden Administration has bumbled along in some instances and planned badly in others. Or, perhaps as some might put it, it is all a disguised blueprint which the so-called new world order has concocted. I.e., the globalists are pulling strings of this president like those strings many generations ago saw in watching Howdy Doody go through his antics. Only we can’t see the strings. But the antics are certainly manifesting while this administration dances to the globalists’ tune.

Again, the Chinese CCP schemers haven’t been oblivious to the Biden bumbling –or whatsoever is at the heart of the apparent downward spiral.

If the one-world crowd expects to outwit the CCP in their plans to dominate their part of the planet, and then expand everywhere else, they had better hurry and implement their brilliant blueprint to save the earth.

The Chinese communists are, themselves, pulling the puppet strings, in consort with Vladimir Putin. Things aren’t looking so good, for example, in the matter of the globalists’ plans to continue to rule the world of finance. The communist cabal that is comprised of the old Soviet oligarchs and the more modernistic and inscrutable Chinese monetary masters seem to be outwitting those of the west who want to continue to rule the fiscal world through the petrodollar.

The Chinese, long known for their patience in their movement toward conquering the world, are seeing weakness they apparently can’t resist. That is, weakness in an America under Mr. Biden, whose government is seen dancing around about like that old Howdy Doody puppet of all those years ago.

The CCP has made its own self-perceived strength felt in letting it be known its intentions with regard to Taiwan.

It has shown its contempt for American power or lack thereof, by issuing a direct order in the form of a threat. The following news excerpt will perhaps encapsulate that Sino contempt for apparent U.S. haplessness.

BEIJING (Reuters) -China warned on Thursday it would take strong measures if U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan and said such a visit would severely impact Chinese-U.S. relations, following media reports she would go next week.

China considers democratically ruled Taiwan its own territory and the subject is a constant source of friction between Beijing and Washington, especially given strong U.S. military and political support for the island.

The possible visit has not been confirmed by Pelosi’s office or Taiwan’s government, but some Japanese and Taiwanese media reported it would take place after she visits Japan this weekend…

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Fijian told reporters that Beijing firmly opposed all forms of official interactions between the United States and Taiwan, and Washington should cancel the trip.

“If the United States insists on having its own way, China will take strong measures in response to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity. All possible consequences that arise from this will completely be borne by the U.S. side,” he added, without giving details. China warns U.S. against House Speaker Pelosi visiting Taiwan, By Martin Quin Reuters)

Since this report, Speaker Pelosi has suddenly come down with COVID, or something other, it is speculated. The trip is off, and the report is that she is ill and can’t make it.

Perhaps she was at the white tie Gridiron Dinner in Washington D.C., the other day. That was apparently a COVID spreader, as many reportedly came down with COVID following the get-together. At any rate, following the Chinese directive the trip was called off.

My own postulation continues to be that if China is that future king of the kings of the east (Revelation chapters 9 and 16,) they will soon launch an assault on their Taiwanese neighbor. –Thus, due to the opportunity that has arisen because of America’s weakness. If they want to launch such an assault, they wouldn’t want the complication of having a U.S. official of such status in the way of the military power that would be necessary to do the job on Taiwan like Mr. Putin is having such a time doing on Ukraine. The warning against Ms. Pelosi making the trip thus has been issued.

If China is the leader of that massive force from east of the Euphrates, they will –as I have expressed before— have to bring within their hegemony all of the Far East, including Japan, Taiwan and the like which are tied to the western powers.

While we watch all of the power spheres shaping for the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, believers should be alerted that the time of Christ’s Call to the Church is almost certainly near indeed. Pastors across the nation and world should be issuing such alerts. We are not to look for the kings of the east to fulfill their dastardly role. We should be looking for the King of all kings.

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2: 13)

How near are we at this very moment to seeing our Lord and Savior face to Face? This is a matter that, I believe, each and every Christian should be asking, based on very good Evidence that this great Event can happen literally at any moment. It will be that twinkling of an eye Moment we should long for. We are promised a crown of Righteousness for loving His appearing. This great Promise from our God includes the first phase of His Second coming –the Rapture, and the second phase, the Second Advent.

Exactly how should the Christian conduct his or her life in view of coming face to face with Jesus –whether through death, or through rapture? The Apostle Peter had something profound to say about the matter:

“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless” (2 Pet. 3:11-14).

The Day of the Lord

Peter, the great apostle, and earliest disciple of Jesus, tells Christians that they should first look for the coming of the “day of the Lord.” The “day of the Lord” will begin with that terrible time –that seven-year era of tribulation also known as “Daniel’s seventieth week” and “the time of Jacob’s trouble.” It will be the worst time in human history, according to Jesus and Jeremiah the prophet. Why should Christians be looking for such a horrendous time?

That time will see a series of three terrible manifestations of God’s righteous wrath, each of the three including seven judgments, for a total of 21 specific judgments. Each judgment that falls upon incorrigibly wicked, rebellious Earth-dwellers of that time will grow progressively more punishing. Things will get so bad that people will try to hide themselves in the caves and crevices of mountains to get away from God’s Wrath. They will come to the point they will beg the mountains to fall on them.

Why Look for Trouble?

Why would Peter tell Christians to look for these things to hurry and come? Actually, the apostle Peter is telling us to consider these things in the most serious terms and to heed God’s prophetic words on that coming era of horror. The key part of this prophetic passage God wants us to understand is: “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness…?” Christians are to think upon these coming judgments, and in thinking upon them with all prayerful seriousness, our lives will be changed into lives of godliness.

Concern for the Doomed

We, as God’s children, you see, can understand –if we apply ourselves to knowing prophecy—the things people of the tribulation will have to endure because of their rebellion, or their sin. We are expected, as Christians, to know, through Bible prophecy, these things to come.

We aren’t expected to know about those coming judgments because God wants us to fear going through them ourselves. We are to understand them out of love for those who will have to go through that time of horrors, if they do not repent and come to a saving knowledge of Christ, this side of the rapture.

Not Destined for God’s Wrath

Knowledge of Bible prophecy –of future events—will make us more holy and godly in our conduct of our own lives. It will make us more dedicated witnesses for the cause of Christ. Christians are not appointed to God’s wrath, according to 1 Thessalonians 5:9. We are to comfort each other with that knowledge according to 1 Thessalonians 5:11. Our future is secure in Jesus. Our concern should be for others who don’t know Him in an intimate, saving way. We are also to be looking for that “day of the Lord” because before it starts, Jesus will come for us and say, “Come up hither” (John 4:1).

Jesus is No Thief

Jesus himself compared His coming to the coming of a “thief in the night.” Why would the sinless Creator-God of all the universes compare himself to a thief in the night? Jesus’ return to Earth will be in two phases. First will come the Rapture, then, at least seven years later, His glorious appearance. This description of the first phase of Christ’s Second Coming is found in Peter’s prophecy: “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up” (2 Pet. 3:10).

A thief comes unannounced. He breaks into a tranquil setting, such as one’s home, and takes something. Jesus was forewarning that He will intervene in the affairs of mankind with a sudden, silent taking away of something. That “something” is His saints –all who were saved throughout the Age of Grace.

From Rapture to Re-Creation of Earth

The entire “day of the Lord” then will run its course until the end of Christ’s Millennial Reign, the Great White Throne Judgment, and the remaking of the heavens and the earth.

His coming “as a thief in the night” can’t be the Second Coming or Second Advent of Christ to set up His rule and reign in Jerusalem at the end of the great war called Armageddon. Every eye will see Him returning at that time.

The King Cometh!          

The prophetic Word foretells the second phase of Christ’s Second Coming – His return to Planet Earth in power and glory, as follows:

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (Rev. 19:11-16).

Be assured: Absolutely no one will miss that glorious appearance!

Jesus Keeps His Promises

At least seven years before that return in the clouds of glory, the Rapture will occur. Jesus, in His “thief in the night” coming, will fulfill his own words:

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also” (John 14:1-3).     

We Christians are to be looking toward the “day of the Lord” and desiring its soon coming, because Jesus, before that day begins, will come to take us home to Heaven with Him, to live eternally in magnificent dwelling places He has prepared for us.

Christians Must Watch

About looking for His coming for His saints in the Rapture, the Lord instructed all whom would be saved during the Church Age:” And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch” (Mark 13:37). Until that exhilarating moment of Rapture, Christians are to be power-filled sentries! What, exactly, does this duty entail?

The Power-Filled Sentry

No other generation in history has been privileged to see end-time things developing as has the present generation. Notice the word “developing.” These last-days signals are not prophecy being fulfilled. The signals consist of issues and events that are setting the stage for fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

It is proper to liken these stage-setting issues and events to a dark, ominous storm that is boiling on the distant horizon. We can see the apocalyptic tempest coming, with jagged flashes of lightning fracturing the black, rolling clouds. But we aren’t yet in the storm. We know it’s approaching with great swiftness, and it is our job to warn others before it’s too late!

Watch God’s Radar Screen

Just as a person couldn’t issue an accurate tornado warning if he couldn’t read the radar signals on the monitors of his weather computers, the Christian can’t warn of prophetic things to come without knowledge of the signals provided in God’s Word.

We must become good students by studying prophecy, as well as the other parts of the Bible. We are instructed:

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim. 2:15).

Note that the Apostle Paul didn’t tell us –under inspiration of the Holy Spirit—to study “part” of God’s Word. He said to “study…rightly dividing the word of truth.” That’s a direct order to study the whole Bible, not just parts. This is where God’s people are failing today. Let us resolve to take this command seriously while watching all the tremendous stage-setting for fulfillment of prophecy we are witnessing in every direction we look.

Here is what to tell the lost to do in order to be kept from that time.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10: 9–10)

Recently, while working on the third novel, MESSIAH, following the first, REVELATIONS, and the second, MICHAEL, I was caught up in thinking how near the Rapture must be. I tried to get my mind around how near we might be to the time Israel will fall for the False Messiah, Antichrist.

The words of Winston Churchill came to mind in his 1942 speech at Mansion House in London. England had just survived Hitler’s Blitz and the horrific bombing. Rommel’s tank onslaught in Egypt had just been routed by the forces of Great Britain and others at Alamein.

People wanted to know how near they were to the end of the world war they were agonizingly enduring. Churchill was greatly encouraged because of the turn of the conflict’s direction. He said the following in his typical eloquent mastery of the moment and of the English language.

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

People are constantly asking about when all of this will end and when the Lord will take us home. Thinking on the writing, as I say, and studying the deluge of events and issues of prophetic significance bombarding us, I was impressed that we are now not at the end. Prophecy is not yet in a state of fulfillment, as far the final prophecies. It isn’t even the beginning of the end—i.e., Jesus said, “there will be wars and rumors of wars, but the end is not yet.” But we are, maybe, bumping up against the very end of this pre-Trib time of the beginning of fulfillment of end-times prophecy.

So, like Churchill said about World War II, we are, perhaps, at the end of this age and at the beginning of fulfillment of the last of end-times prophecy about to unfold.

I mean, of course, that it is the Rapture of the Church that will bring that beginning of end-time prophecies. There is no prophetic fulfillment given to precede the Rapture. The caveat is that Israel being once again a nation—and one at the center of controversies involving all nations—is a prophecy at least partially fulfilled at this point.

And that’s what we’re looking at here: the matter of Israel being at the center of things involving the world’s nation-states.

We all know the awful things transpiring in Ukraine, such as the loss of life and the carnage inflicted by Russia’s invasion. Alternate news sites are telling the full story that the mainstream media most often will not. For example, these alternate sources have reported that the Russian soldiers are sometimes laying down their weapons, defecting, and returning home to Russia. For some reason, such facts don’t fit the narrative of the traditional news media. Also, I’ve noticed a tremendous difference between reports of the majority of Russian people being against the invasion and the mainstream news reporting that polls taken in Russia show the Russian people are wholeheartedly in favor of the invasion.

It is almost impossible to get the full story. However, one thing becoming clear is the powers that constitute the New World Order—the globalists elite—have become exceedingly concerned about Vladimir Putin’s strategy to reconstruct the way business is done with regard to how and to whom oil and gas are bought and sold.

It seems that NATO, Biden, the European Union, and most every Western Hemisphere globalist principality are now chomping at the bit to do battle with Russia. All it took to begin talk of moving troops near the battle was for Mr. Putin to say he intends to make all who want Russian oil and gas to deal in rubles, the Russian currency unit.

That did it. Putin’s obvious strategy to diminish or even destroy the petrodollar as the chief exchange system in petroleum transactions made guys like Sen. Lindsey Graham want to go to war—even if nuclear—with the Russkis. The hawks have their feathers ruffled. Putin garnering most of the oil and gas business is too much to bear, as it is said.

It is quite interesting to see how Putin, whom many in the diplomatic circles are calling a madman, has completely out-strategized them all. Even America, after shutting down the pipelines, has to now look to Russia, as does Europe. It’s either deal with Russia and with rubles, or go without. Biden has even begged Venezuela to release more oil for sale. But the dictator Nicolás Maduro, like the oil sheiks of Saudi, has refused to even talk with the president of the United States.

Instead, they are more and more joining the Russian/Chinese economic model and are weaning from the American/European petrodollar conglomerate that has ruled the petroleum industry worldwide for so long.

Here’s where I hope to go with this. It is postulation, to be certain, but it is an interesting direction of thought, in considering the nation Israel and its strategic positioning—His chosen nation put there by the Lord Himself.

Europe is now at the mercy of Vladimir Putin and the Russian consortium that includes China and now other petroleum powers like Saudi Arabia. The oil and gas crisis will not only involve Europe freezing in the winter, but will inflict collateral damage to food production.

The US is now, as I see it, almost supernaturally paralyzed because of this administration being run by the green insanity that shut down the gas and oil pipelines. I’m not sure the Lord will even allow such thinking to come to a rational decision to reopen these conduits, so reprobate they are because of turning their backs on Him.

Now here is my thinking involving Israel.

Israel now has, it has been determined, tremendous oil and gas reserves, including in the Golan area, which Vlad has said is no longer Israel’s sovereign territory. There are vast such reserves, as I understand, beneath Israel’s territorial waters of the Mediterranean.

It is possible, without too much stretch of imagination—to suggest that the Western alliance—Europe and America—will pour whatever money and resources necessary into funding the swift development of Israel’s petroleum industry to enhance their capability of beginning to provide the West with the Jewish State’s newly acquired oil and gas assets. This would: 1) make sure Europe doesn’t starve or freeze; and 2) make sure the American and European financial masters in the petrodollar system of sales and distribution continue to make their billions.

This, the way I see it, could be why President Biden recently read the line that a New World Order must develop. He followed that up by saying “America must lead in this” (the New World Order).

If this eventuates, with the harshest possible sanctions imposed by the New World Order at the same time driving Russia’s economic plight into ruin, such a development could start Putin or a future Russian leader thinking the “evil thought” Ezekiel foretold. As we’ve mentioned, Putin has already told the world he considers the Golan (the mountains of Israel) to be no longer the nation’s sovereign territory.

The New World Order is already in place and raring to go to war. These economic globalists elite oligarchs are the humanist part of the Ephesians 6:12 wrestling match in which we as Christians are engaged. They could well be the end-times catalyst in bringing about the Gog-Magog fulfillment, the appearance of Antichrist, and the start of the prophesied seven years of hell on earth.

To avoid being here when God unleashes His wrath and judgment on the evil corruption every direction we look, the following is God’s way to soul-saving grace.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10: 9–10)

NOTE: Let’s try this again. My apologizes for the technical issue in posting this article this morning. 

Many have speculated over the years about who will be Antichrist. We’ve heard names going back to Hitler, Mussolini, JFK, King Juan Carlos, Prince Charles, Kissinger, Reagan, Trump, Obama, Macron, and now Ukraine’s Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, with a few other names sprinkled in between. None have, so far, fit the bill as that wicked man of sin.

But with regard to the one who will be Gog of Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39, the naming of that leader who is prophetically scheduled to lead the assault against Israel seems almost a certainty.

I must include myself in looking rather intensely at one Vladimir Putin as a quite likely candidate for the one into whose jaws God will put the hooks to draw him and his forces down over the mountains of Israel. That is, the Russian Federation president—at the moment, at least—appears to be a prime candidate for being that chief prince of Meshack and Tubal.

Yet, if I were a betting man, as they say, I wouldn’t lay too much down on him in making that wager. Unfolding history has a way of making look foolish those who place too much faith in their own ability to predict prophetic events. Such will likely be the fate of those who invest all in predicting that Vlad is the man possessed of the Gog spirit.

Nonetheless, it is said by some that Mr. Putin has already been indwelt by the Gog demon, recently up from the abyss. And he certainly does act as if he is possessed, his sudden, explosive aggression—without anyone or anything apparently poking the Russian bear—inflicting death and destruction on the people of Ukraine.

Oh, he is said to have unleashed his forces because of Ukraine being courted by NATO as a prospective future member of the organization. But that is an unlikely thing to develop. More likely it involves Putin, a former KGB colonel who has expressed several times that the fall of the Soviet Union was the worst thing to have happened in history. He wants to be seen as a re-emerged, Soviet-style hero in beginning to regather the USSR as formerly constituted.

The prospects for his being that leader of the forces destined for destruction on the mountains of Israel were enhanced considerably when one of Putin’s diplomats made it known that Russia no longer considers the Golan and other areas sovereign territory belonging to Israel. We can extrapolate from that diplomatic note that Russia considers that area—an area recently found to be rich in gas and oil deposits—a legitimate target in the future. Wow! It sure looks like it’s all coming together.

My friend Mark sent an article the other day that goes even further in congealing the likelihood of Mr. Putin being that Russian leader who is either now or who will in the future be possessed by that evil spirit from the abyss—the demon that will make the chief prince of Meshach and Tubal have that “evil thought” to attack God’s chosen nation, as foretold by the prophet Ezekiel.

Mr. Putin seems to have a cheerleading group of the dark-dimension sort rooting for him. The following excerpt of that fascinating article Mark sent explains.

On March 12, about 100 self-described witches gathered at an indoor facility to call upon supernatural entities, and presumably the forces of darkness, to strengthen Russian President Vladimir Putin and help him in his invasion of Ukraine, reported Asia News.

The witches wore dark capes and hoods, and recited incantations.

Aljona Polin, Russia’s leading witch and founder of the Great Witches of Russia association, according to Asia News, said, “Those who hear, but do not hear, those who see, but do not see, those who are there, were there and will be there, will not forget my word: raise the strength of Russia, direct our President Vladimir Putin on the path of justice.”

“Let the great strength of Russia manifest itself,” Aljona intoned. The other witches responded, “Indeed.”

In the middle of the room where the witches gathered there was a shawl with a picture of Putin on it, next to a candle…

“The ritual lasted about 20 minutes in all, with a final physical connection of all the witches joining hands and energies, entering into a spiritual connection with Putin himself,” reported Asia News. (“Witches Gather in Moscow to Support Putin, Curse His Enemies,” by Michael W. Chapman, CNS NEWS March 15, 2022)

Whether or not the evil Gog spirit has been summoned by this coven, the short-of-stature but enormous-of-ego Putin, in considering the one who will be that leader of Rosh, sure looks interesting, doesn’t he?

Even so, don’t bet the farm on it is good advice. Let’s just watch, as commanded (Mark 13: 37) and look for the blessed hope (Titus 2: 13).

We who are in Christ don’t have to be concerned with knowing who will be the chief prince of Meshach and Tubal any more than we have to be concerned with knowing who will be the son of perdition when he steps onto the stage of history. We will be triumphantly within the ark of safety provided by our Lord and Savior.

For when you see all these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your head, for your redemption draws near. (Luke 21:28)

Again, the commentary is presented from an Amero-centric perspective. The continuation of vantage point is because, indeed, at this particular time in history, America is at the heart of the geopolitical milieu.

Much of what has happened, and is happening at present, has been or is influenced by the actions of those in control of the government of the United States. For example, when Donald Trump was president, Russian leader Vladimir Putin held in check his aggressive nature. Or at least the Restrainer, the Holy Spirit, did so. At any rate, Putin threatened Ukraine because of its leaders’ talking about joining NATO on occasion. Mr. Trump is said to have let it be known (I don’t find the exact quote) that if Putin invaded Ukraine, Moscow would be the target for being nuked. Trump didn’t hide his intentions. He was blunt and always followed through on his promises/threats – at least for the most part.

Putin realized this, no doubt, and never came close to invading the former Soviet state.

The Trump administration put the Chinese Communist Party leaders on notice that to assault Taiwan or to disrupt American, or any other shipping, in the South China Sea would bring America’s naval might to the area, and it would be used if necessary. As a matter of fact, there was increased American naval presence there during all years of the Trump administration. Xi Jinping, the Chinese Communist dictator, got the message and, again, with Holy Spirit Restraint I’m convinced, thought better than to unleash his missiles, navy, and army upon Taiwan.

The Chinese are known for their patience, however – in waiting for the right opportunities that will inevitably come. Xi Jinping has been watching the Russian invasion and all attendant to it.

He has considered the present American president and his response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I’m convinced, as stated in previous commentaries, that Xi Jinping will, at some point soon, decide to take over Taiwan, the island state Chinese dictators have long considered to be a part of mainland China.

This might be done sooner rather than later, as it is said. Xi Jinping knows that the American political environment is chaotic – that the Democrat Party is, at this point at least, due to take a drubbing in November elections. If things don’t change drastically, the Presidential elections in 2024 will be calamitous for the Democrat Party also.

Almost certainly, the new governing elements within Congress and then in the White House will bring back strong leadership in direct opposition to all that is going on at present, with the Biden Administration doing all it can to disassemble America as founded – to bring the nation into the globalist sphere. For example, Biden’s immediately on taking office adopted the radical, green demands of the left, thereby severely curtailing the Keystone Pipeline System, making America again dependent on global sources of energy, thus putting the nation under the thumb of the globalist elite.

The November 2022 election change to a pro-America (nationalist) administration will doubtless include a reconfiguration of the U.S. military, with replacement of the present Joint Chiefs of Staff being almost a surety.

I.e., I believe the Communist Chinese leadership very likely might have concluded that now is the opportunity they have longed for since Taiwan broke away in 1945. Another such opportunity might not come until a future such weakened America and western world – thereby with diminished resolve to oppose such aggression – might again come into being.

Now, understand that the above is offered with the absolute assurance that God’s Mighty Hand is in all of it. We know that from God’s Word.

“And now ye know what withholdeth [the Holy Spirit] that he [Antichrist] might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he [the Holy Spirit] who now letteth [restrains] will let [restrain], until he [the Holy Spirit] be taken out of the way.” (2 Thes 2:6-7)   

So why do we “Watch” as our title of the commentary suggests?

Because we are commanded to do so by the Lord Jesus Himself, to begin with…

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” (Mark 13:37)

“And when you see all these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your head, for your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:28)

His command is more than enough to make clear that God wants us to be aware of His impending return to Planet Earth as the moment of that Glorious Appearance nears. He said to look up when we “see all these things begin to come to pass.” The Judaizers of His first coming to present Himself as Israel’s Messiah and King couldn’t see the Truth. Jesus was that Messiah. Christians must not be oblivious. We are commanded to be aware of the time of Christ’s Return to put an end to the carnage that is happening now and is scheduled to take place in Judgment and Wrath during the 7 years of Tribulation.

We are to thus warn those who are lost and headed for Hell of these things to come while witnessing the Loving Gift Offering of God’s only Son in Sacrifice for the sins of mankind.

To know that Bible prophecy tells the end of all things from the beginning does one thing more for the Christian who “watches” as Jesus commanded. It offers comfort and assurance. Assurance that there will not be nuclear exchanges that end civilization. There will not be World War III as so many are fretting about right now. People will be doing all the things of normal life at the very moment of His next intervention into human history. All will be normal for the times in that regard, while the times are chaotic just like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Boy howdy! Are we ever at that point in comportment right at this moment?

Jesus, Himself, promised this would be the condition of humanity in just one passage I continue to repeat for all who will listen.

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” (Luke 17: 26-30)

The Lord Jesus Gave the most important Promise of all as recorded in the following passage. And remember that “the last day” begins with the Rapture!

“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6: 40)  

A number of questions have come in with the worry over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Russia’s Vladimir Putin seems to be in the process of fulfilling the Gog-Magog prophecy in the opinion of some of those among whom have sent emails, etc.

Of particular interest in this regard is Russia’s sending the warning to Israel that Russia no longer considers the Golan, etc., to be Israel’s sovereign territory. i.e., apparently, it’s now open for Russia’s taking it over because of Israel’s dealings with Syria in some perceived unjust way.

Putin took unkindly to Israel saying they supported the Ukrainian people in opposing Russia’s assault on their nation.

During all this perhaps stage-setting for the Gog-Magog attack of Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39, another powerful player of prophetic dimension is starkly in view. The developments in the regions east of the Euphrates, the oriental world, are indeed worth delving into in terms of likely prophetic progression.

I refer to the matter of the persistent probing into Taiwan’s air space with military jets. The actions are intended not only to intimidate but to see just how not only Taiwan itself but how the western powers – particularly the U.S. – will react and respond.

Of course, China is the culprit in all this. Taiwan’s monstrous neighbor, under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP,) has had for many years a festering hatred for that democratic republic just miles off China’s coast. They are now making that hatred manifest for the world to see.

Vladimir Putin’s daring invasion of Ukraine has, without a doubt, given China’s despot, Xi Jinping, the evidence he needs that confirms America’s weakness of leadership. The current presidential administration’s perceived inability to deal with Putin and his aggression with military action or even with other effective means to deter Russian incursion have no doubt caused Xi Jinping to become more aggressive by the day in probing Taiwan’s vulnerability.

The buildup of China’s aggressiveness has been coming more clearly into the picture of events shaping for prophetic fulfillment for several years of late. The building of artificial islands in the South China Sea, for example, has been part of this buildup. They have thus challenged navies and anyone other who passes through that sea, even though that is legally, in terms of maritime law, open waters for movement of ships from around the world. China has proclaimed it as its sovereign waters and has threatened military action even against U.S. naval ships.

So among the questions I’ve gotten through email and in personal conversations as well as on TV and radio interviews is: “Do you think China will attack Taiwan and take it over?”

People who are well-versed in Bible prophecy already can see the proverbial handwriting on the wall when it comes to Russia. They are fairly certain the Russian actions, with their taking of Ukraine (or at least parts of it at this point), is a sure signal that it might be all setting up the Gog-Magog assault at some point. Russia’s aforementioned threatening of Israel, denying the Jewish state’s sovereignty in the matter of the Golan, strongly adds to the evidence that the Gog-Magog attack must be somewhere in the not-too-distant future.

But China is another matter. The questions concerning its intentions, etc., are not issued with any certainty that they see potential prophetic fulfillment within the matters involved.

“Will China attack and take over Taiwan?”

The question has been ruminating within the aging gray matter and within my spiritual neurons that want to know, too.

Here is my assessment, or at least my best epiphany, if that’s the correct term.

I do believe that because of this American presidential administration’s weak actions and reactions to most everything that involves aggression, China will decide to take Taiwan. If they wait until the midterm elections in this nation, they will face much stronger opposition if, as expected, there is a complete rout of the Democrat Party, particularly in the House of Representatives.

If they await the presidential election of 2024, their prospects for successfully taking the Taiwan island-state without use of nuclear weapons might be even more greatly diminished.

Bible prophecy tells of the massive force of 200 million troops that will cross the dried-up Euphrates River at the end of the Tribulation period. This force is called the kings of the east. I have always believed that China, who now can easily put together that size force, joined by all the other “kings of the east” in that oriental part of the world, will be the lead nation in the demonically-possessed horde. I believe that China will be the King of the kings of the east in that attack that will kill one-third of people on earth.

If this generation is at the very end of the Church Age (Age of Grace) – as many of us believe the world is – all prophetic progression must soon come together in preparation for the wind-up of history this side of the Tribulation and the Triumphant Return of Christ. Just as the Gog-Magog forces seem to be coming together at present, so, too, the things in the oriental world must be coming together.

China, by bringing Taiwan into its hegemonic embrace, is almost a certainty in firming up the kings of the east assault force. Xi Jinping, or whomever is the Chinese leader, will soon be bringing all of those oriental nations that are now independent, sovereign countries into their orb through whatsoever means necessary.

I don’t believe those means will be nuclear – at least not this side of the Rapture of the Church. That would throw the world into configuration other than prophesied by the Lord Jesus as recorded in Matthew 24:36-42 and Luke 17:26-30. It would not be business as usual if there were nuclear exchanges all over the world, or, I believe, even on a limited basis.

No matter the way things will play out within the near term, the God of Heaven is in complete Control. We can be absolutely certain of that Truth. And He will take Christ’s Bride, the Church, out of this doomed world because of its rebelliousness before His Wrath must fall.

Here again is how to avoid that coming Judgment and Wrath.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10: 9-10).
